They needed to see andmanage their relationships efficiently to assist withencouraging charities to apply to the Acceleratorprogrammme. They required a database that theycould update easily and readily report from. Theability to have one view to assess the progress ofthe programme and the Foundation’s overheadswas a critical requirement,” says Jasmine Ashley, makepositive Implementation Consultant.Problem Definition:Technical specification:The foundation had a database with multipleaccount and contact types. Podio, Hubspot and plainold Excel had previously been used for recordinginformation on different stakeholder groups. TheSalesforce platform enabled the charity to bringeverything together into one CRM and enhancetheir ability to track relationships and engagementwith charities and Rainmakers more effectively. The project timeline was five days to design, configure, test and train. makepositive configuredaccounts, contacts, tasks, events, leads andopportunities to facilitate the Accelerator applicationprocess. Multiple record types were used to managestakeholder accounts and relationships. Data uploadand training sessions were delivered. AppExchangeproducts were researched and recommended with atrial of Ebsta for Gmail installed on the final day.Why choose makepositive?“It was important for us to find a partner with crosssector experience that could map our complicatedlandscape of stakeholders, which encompasses bothcharities and commercial entities. Additionally, wewere drawn to makepositive’s embedded values ofcollaboration and positive working, which we try tomirror in our own organisation and way of work,”Charlotte Newman, Chief Operating Officer atRainmaker Foundation. The Rainmaker Foundation had already progressedwith web development prior to this engagement, enabling an online payment tool, extensive useof online accounting software and marketingcampaign management tools to launch.makepositive recommended an add-on productEbsta from the AppExchange to allow for emailsto be synced back to Salesforce.com accounts, contacts and opportunities. Ebsta offer not for profitlicense pricing and are a London-based company.

Rainmaker Foundation“Cosmina Popa and CharlotteNewman are passionate andclear communicators of themessage of the RainmakerFoundation.”This solution utilised the Sales Cloud platformcoupled with the Not-for-profit Starter Pack withpre-configured custom objects to assist withrelationship management and donations. Due to theunique nature of the Foundation and its processes, the starter pack did not cover the majority of theirrequirements as it was focused more on householddonations and volunteers. The RainmakerFoundation solution was implemented with twolicenses but has a future plan in place to grow as theFoundation grows.Impact statement:Feedback for makepositive from the RainmakerFoundation:“Requirements that were most important to therelationship management goal were given thehighest priority and the remaining requirementswere categorised as “if time permits.” What hasmade this project incredible is the positive impactthis migration from spreadsheet to Saleforce.comwill have for the team, the amount we were ableto deliver in a short time frame and the space forintegrations and the evolution of their solutionas the Accelerator programme advances and theRainmaker Foundation grows.“One thing on the logistics side was that because wewere on a waiting list of when we might be assignedsomeone, we were a little bit caught off guard whenJasmine was assigned on a week’s notice. It justmeant that we didn’t start with all of the databaseinformation prepared for uploading, so wereworking backwards a little bit to get the informationuploaded, even though the framework for us to puteverything into is now there.” Charlotte Newman.Client feedback from makepositive:“Cosmina Popa and Charlotte Newman arepassionate and clear communicators of themessage of the Rainmaker Foundation. I was warmlywelcomed into the project. I was able to get a greatunderstanding of the Foundation’s focus and anappreciation for their hard work, dedication andvision. It was a pleasure working with both Cosmina andCharlotte. My goal was to deliver on as many oftheir requirements as possible so they could focuson the running of the Foundation. To meet twopassionate people working so hard on a programmethat is going to change the way in which charitieswork in the future is amazing.” Jasmine Ashley, makepositive Implementation Consultant.“We really appreciated how well Jasmine ledthe process. She listened to our needs and herdetermination to set us up with the best platformshe could in the time that she had. The handoverdocument she prepared has also been incrediblyuseful. It’s been a learning curve for us on howto use Salesforce effectively and the documenthas definitely helped to plug that gap.” CharlotteNewman, Rainmaker Foundation. It’s created a reference point for us to build upour operations and the dashboard element thatJasmine built in has really helped us to formaliseour KPIs and streamline our reporting mechanisms,”Charlotte Newman, Rainmaker Foundation.
