The Medical Center consists of three campuses inWorcester, MA: University, Memorial, and Hahnemann Campus. Our programs arecommitted to training that respects the diversity of our residents and our patient populationwith an emphasis on professional development and wellness.The pharmacy residency program started in 1995 with one resident. We have since grown to12 residents, making our program one of the largest pharmacy residencies in NewEngland. Over the years, we have made a significant impact on patient care by becoming anintegral part of the medical teams through working directly on the hospital floors andguideline/policy development. We strive for excellence in the training of pharmacy residents,providing a positive and rewarding learning experience.General InformationThe PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is a yearlong, accredited program designed to buildon Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to thedevelopment of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients witha wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate yeartwo (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. The residents will have the opportunity to providepharmaceutical care in a variety of patient care settings as well as provide 24-hour clinicalservices through an in-house on-call program. Residents will also develop communicationand teaching skills through providing formal didactic lectures, participating in a teachingcertificate program and serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.

Program StructureThe PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is an ASHP-accredited program that is tailored toappeal to an individual desiring a well-rounded pharmacy experience.
