talk.No matter how much the other personwishes to talk and argue, you cannot go wrong bybeing polite and composed. The most criticaltime to be quiet is when there is nothing moreto be said. For many of us, the most difficultword in the language is "no".This is the timeto be patient, listen and often the person willtalk themselves into a "yes".In final analysis, to win in negotiating onemust (1) define the problem, (2) decide what youwant, (3) design a strategy and (4) do it.Fundamentally, the process of negotiating stemsfrom stimulation, which in turn, is followed byemotional reaction, leading to aSpecificbehavioral reSponse. We wish for peOple tochange, without change occurring in us.4-Hdoes dependon our ability to negotiate withother people.Negotiation is a term we do notuse often, but one we need to read about andstudy. It is a way of life in the real world.Dalton R.
