From the desk of the Administrator. My dear parishioners and friends,As we join the whole Catholic world in celebrating theSolemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, we, in our parish, alsocelebrate the vesper of the feast of our patron saint, St.Anthony of Padua. It is quite fitting that the image of the HolyTrinity as a community of three persons working as one, comes to our attention today. The unity of the Triune Goddraws closer to our union to one another and to God himself. We need one another; and we need others to help us aswell. Recent parish activities like the festivals of food and rides, the Flores de Mayo novena and procession, the health fair andother ministries’ efforts, clearly manifested this need andsupport. I am grateful to everyone for your participation andwillingness to help.Today, we create another opportunity to show ourunity. Some parishioners led by Tom Collucci havevolunteered to provide food to celebrate St. Anthony’sFeast. This may seem a simple and ordinary endeavor, yet itshows our solidarity as a parish family. It is my hope that therest of us will partake and do our share.Today—Sunday, June 12, 2022After Each MassCelebrating St. Anthony Feast DayStop by for our Breakfast/Brunch Event. A Kernel of History(Part 33)That same year, 1983, the Rosary Altar Society initiated the daily Novenas — on Tuesdays, theNovena in honor of St. Anthony, on Thursdays, a Novena in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and on Sundays, a Novena dedicated toward the Mortification of Silence. Daily novenas were alsoprayed towards the intentions of daily issues such as world peace, poverty and abortion. By1985, the Society began wearing the Blue and White Sash to establish a presence at churchprocessions and functions. The sashes were hand-made and donated by Mary Porreca (nowdeceased), a member of the Society. Then in October, a drive to modernize the sanctuary wasorganized, since there was no permanent Altar (the temporary Altar was made in 1968 with aFormica top by Raimondo Toscano and Al Taglione. An architect was employed and drawings wereexhibited to show proposed changes—but, finally rejected. The project was tabled until Januaryof 1984.More to come in future bulletins. Are You a Registered Parishioner? You may think you are registered—but if you are not receiving envelopes for your weeklydonations there is a big chance you are not registered. It is very important that you register at the Parish OfȦce and use your weekly envelopes for giving. The reason for this isbecause all parishes report the number of parishioners in their Parish yearly and alsowhen a parishioner needs proof that he or she is a Catholic in good-standing it makes theprocess very simple. You may need this proof if you are asked to be a sponsor for Baptismor ConȦrmation or when preparing for Marriage. You are encouraged to conȦrm yourregistration with our Parish OfȦce by calling Leonora at 973.481.1991 during our ofȦcehours 10-4 Monday through Friday.ChurchParking LotorFerraro HallComeandEnjoyThe Chalice is Traveling!Praying for VocationsToday, June 12, the Villamiel Family will pass it on tothe Rue Family at the 8am Mass.Next week, June 19, the Rue Family will pass it on to thePolicarpio Family at the 1030am Mass.Every Saturday at 9AMONLINE GIVINGSuppor ng our summer ministries and mission is only a click away. LouiseBouffier managed a small bakery in Toulon, France. When she wasunable to open her shop’s door one morning even with the help of alocksmith, she prayed to St. Anthony for help. Before knocking itdown, one last a empt to open it miraculously opened the stuckdoor. In thanks, Louise made good on her promise to give some ofher bread to the poor. It wasn’t long before her friends began tofollow her example as many received answered prayer through theintercession of St. Anthony. In the 1890’s the prac ce was formalizedby founding a charity called “St. Anthony’s Bread.”Thank you to Fr. Joe Ferraro, Rita Charles, The Bruno Family,Emilia Percio, and Joanne Raimo-Sigall for dona ng the Breadthis year. May St. Anthony intercede for your inten ons!

the madness of war in Ukraine, Ethiopia, Syria, and other regions of the world. Hunger, homelessness, crime, and infla on challenge all of us one way or another, and rather than be overwhelmed by all this, we are too o Len tempted to focus only on our own needs and to react with self-centered indifference to the problems of others.
