PUBLIC ART IN NORTH SYDNEYNorth Sydney has a strong collection of publicartworks, many of which have been developedin line with Council’s Public Art Policy. Under thePolicy, Council has commissioned artists to designworks that enhance, enliven and celebrate theenvironment with a strong focus on site specificity.In addition to Council commissioned works, NorthSydney has a varied collection of public art locatedin private developments. NORTH SYDNEY PUBLIC ART TRAILThe North Sydney Public Art Trail is a major arts andcultural initiative, providing a high quality publicart experience for North Sydney that celebratesthe diversity and uniqueness of the locality.Incorporating public artworks, architecture, publicgardens and harbour views, the trail includes 20sites of cultural significance in Kirribilli, Milsons Point,Lavender Bay and North Sydney.Significantly, three site specific sculptures havebeen commissioned by Council and installed in theNorth Sydney CBD over the last three years. DanielTempleman’s Missing Corners is located on the cornerof Pacific Highway and Blue and Walker Streets.Angles of Incidence by Warren Langley and JuliaDavis is located on the corner of Pacific Highway andMiller Street. Damien Butler’s, A Rotunda For ‘ReflectiveEncounters’ is located in St Peters Park on the cornerof Blues Point Road and Blue Street.The NORTH ARTS digital walking tour appaccompanies the trail and provides informationand images on each of the 20 stops, as well as alocational map. The app is free to download on alldigital devices.The digital tour can be walked in three hours andstarted at any stop on the trail.
