Batman: The Dark Knight RisesMeanwhile, evil has been lurking among the sewers andconstruction sites of Gotham. A villain known as Bane(Hardy) has amassed a large army of mercenaries, unlikeany Gotham has seen before. These men are unafraid ofdying, and are religious in their commitment to therealization of their dream. On the other side, the rich are thriving, living lavish livesand enjoying their prosperity. Their debauchery foolsthem, and allows them to be swindled and swaddled inbusiness “transactions.” A certain “cat-bandit” (Hathaway)is responsible for this, and has sunken her claws inGotham’s social elite.'The Dark Knight Rises' Ends theBatman Trilogy on a Stunning NoteWhat defines a superhero? His strength? His invulnerability? His fame? Notoriety? A lot of factors need to be consideredwhen labeling a certain individual a superhero, even if hemay wear a traditional cape and mask. One may then ask, is Batman a superhero? Apart from hissharp suit, top-of-the-line gadgets, and secret lair – doesBatman have what it takes? The Dark Knight Rises shows aBatman we are unaccustomed to seeing: bruised, scarred, and broke. The third and final movie of Christopher Nolan’s Batmantrilogy, The Dark Knight Rises runs 2 hours and 45 minutes.Directed by Nolan, it stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway,Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, MarionCotillard, and Michael Caine. The Dark Knight Rises is simply a multi-layeredspectacle, rife with action and suspense, great acting(especially by Hathaway), and stunning aesthetics.Typical of Nolan, the creativity is off the charts, withoutany sacrifice in terms of the plot – it’ll be a challenge tofind holes in this movie. A bit more was expected of thisfilm than the previous two, as all the ends needed to betied together: the future of Bruce Wayne, the safety ofGotham City, and the legacy of Batman. Needless to say,The Dark Knight Rises more than suffices.I highly recommend watching this movie, as it’s probablythe blockbuster of the season. Not to mention, pleasewatch the whole movie – if I were in your shoes, Iwouldn’t want to be robbing myself of a great surprise.Does the reviewer like the movie? Why?The story of Gotham and its resident superhero picks up 8years after the death of D.A. Harvey Dent – who shocked usall with his heel turn as Two-Face in The Dark Knight. In aneffort to give the city the hero it so desperately needed,Batman decided to be the scapegoat and come out asDent’s murderer. As a result, Harvey Dent was eulogized, and the anti-crime Dent Act was installed, responsible forlocking up thousands of Gotham’s most vicious evil doerswith no chance at parole. However, Gotham turned on its true hero, branding him avillain. Since then, Batman has retreated back to theshadows, and with him, Bruce Wayne (Bale). The CEO ofWayne Enterprises, Wayne has become a recluse, unseenand dormant for almost a decade. Wayne Enterprises, lacking its visionary and leader, has tumbled fiscally, andfailed to produce a profit since Wayne’s departure. The lackof profits meant the truncation of charity donations; includingthe nearby orphanage, the former home of John Blake(Gordon-Levitt), a young Gotham police officer. What do you think?

SpidermanDoes the reviewer like the movie? Why?Spiderman is “Amazing”The Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfieldand Emma Stone definitely lives up to its titlebecause it is truly amazing. I was expecting thisfilm to be an add-on to the most recent SpiderMan series, but it is a completely different film thatstarts at the beginning of Spider-Man’s journey. Ofcourse, Peter Parker (played by Andrew Garfield)is bitten by a genetically modified spider andtransforms into Spider-Man, his uncle Ben dies, and that’s all the same in the past films about thisspandex-sporting hero, but instead of falling for histypical love interest, MJ, Peter falls for GwenStacy (played by Emma Stone). And there is noGreen Goblin in this film, but instead a new villainfor Spider-Man to face.I love this movie! The special effects arephenomenal, especially in 3-D. I love AndrewGarfield in the part of Peter Parker because hedoes a fantastic job portraying him and he andEmma Stone have such great chemistry, whichreally shows in their characters. My favorite sceneis when Peter is transforming into Spider-Man,because his aunt and uncle have no idea what’swrong with him and it’s so funny. In fact, this wholefilm is filled with comedy and action. My favoritecharacter would have to be Gwen Stacy played byEmma Stone because I really admire her and shedoes a wonderful job playing this role.I think something very different about this film is itseems that the target audience is just teens, whereas in past Spider-Man movies the mainaudience is teens and adults. Overall, I give TheAmazing Spider-Man 5 out of 5 stars because it isamazing and I want to see it over and over again. Ican’t wait for the sequel to come out. Go catch it ina theater near you! What do you think?

BattleshipDoes the reviewer like the movie? Why?Battleship takes actionThis movie was awesome. I love it because it hasa ton of action, lots of funny parts, and suspense. The main characters in the movie are Alex Hopper(played by Taylor Kitsch), Sam (Brooklyn Decker),Cora (Rihanna) and Yugi (Tadanobu Asano). Myfavorite character is Alex Hopper because he isreally funny and brave. He wants revenge on thealiens attacking them because they hurt hisbrother. This movie is about Alex Hopper, who joins theNavy because he needs to get his life together.Yugi, the captain in the Navy, doesn’t really likeAlex because he thinks Alex won’t be any help tothem. Alex goes out on a destroyer to look forother boats and they come across a large mass inthe water. That’s where they find the aliens andthen start fighting for their lives. My favorite part in the movie is when Alex Hoppertries to get a burrito for a girl he likes named Sam.The kitchen is closed, so he goes through a lot oftrouble to get her this burrito. It’s really funnybecause he falls down a few times and then getschased by police who tazer him. It is hilarious!I would recommend this movie for ages 10 and upbecause there is violence in the movie and israted PG-13. I think kids 10 and up would love thismovie, though, because it has so much action. What do you think?

The AvengersEven though it is rated PG-13, I think kids ages11, as well as all adults, will love this movie, especially if action is their thing. I am giving thisfilm a 5 out of 5 stars and recommending thatyou see it right away!Does the reviewer like the movie? Why?Avengers are AwesomeThis movie was absolutely fantastic! It is packedwith a ton of action and humor and will transportyou into an amazing supernatural world where it isall about the good guys fighting the bad.The story is about a group of famous superheroesthat come together to defeat the evil Loki, who hasstolen a powerful energy cube that he intends touse to take over the world. The superheroesinclude Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk,Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye. Each one has aunique and special supernatural power that theyuse to help them do their job. At first, thesuperheroes fight about being a team, buteventually they work together to complete themission. The Avengers could have ended up being atypical superhero movie, but it isn’t. Because thereare so many heroes, it is much more creative andentertaining. The Avengers is packed withfabulous actors. Robert Downey Jr. plays TonyStark, also known as Iron Man. Just like he was inthe Iron Man movie, he thinks he is better thaneveryone else, but luckily, he is really quite funnyso you end up liking him a lot. Captain America(Chris Evans) is strong and serious, and he isalways ready to get the job done. Actor MarkRuffalo plays the ferocious green form known asthe Incredible Hulk. He really stands out and takesover the scenes he is in. Superhero Thor (ChrisHemsworth) has some of the most incrediblebattle scenes. And Black Widow, portrayed by thebeautiful Scarlett Johansson, is the one whoconvinces the others to put aside their differencesand work with each other. What do you think?

We bought a zooAnimals and humans have never been sogreat together!I would recommend this movie for ages 10 andup because there are some scary parts in thismovie that younger kids might not like. Themovie is sad because the mom dies and thefamily is still trying to deal with that. Thepictures that Dylan draws are kind of violent andscary and there is also some kissing in themovie that is not appropriative for youngerviewers. Go out and see this movie in theaterson December 23rd.Does the reviewer like the movie? Why?I am reviewing a really cool movie called WeBought a Zoo. I really like this movie; it is kind offunny, a little sad, but really cool. This movie is all about Benjamin Mee, played byMatt Damon, who is living with his family in the citytrying to deal with the death of his wife and raisehis two kids. His son Dylan is not doing so welland keeps getting into trouble. Dylan finally getsexpelled and so they have to find him a newschool. Benjamin decides that it’s time for them tomove and start a new life, and they find a reallycool house out of the city and want to buy it. Butthey soon realize that this house comes with azoo. His daughter Rosie loves the house, though,so they decide to give it a try. Some of the main characters in the movie areBenjamin Mee, Kelly Foster, Duncan, Dylan andRosie. My favorite character is Benjamin becausehe is a really funny character. When he gets madhe does some really funny stuff like throwing atantrum all by himself, which kept me laughing. Heis also a really good dad even though he doesn’texactly know what he’s doing. My favorite part in the movie is when BenjaminMee is inside the porcupine pit and he thinks theyare nice at first but then the porcupine startsrunning after him and he jumps over the fence andlands on pointy stuff. So when they try to takethem off he keeps screaming! That was reallyfunny. What do you think?

Real SteelDoes the reviewer like the movie? Why?Real boxing, real heartwarming, “RealSteel”Real steel. What do you think of when you hearthose two words? For some, it’s just “steal”; forothers, it’s a competition to see which robot is leftstanding. Real Steel is a movie starring HughJackman as Charlie Kenton, a broke, unlucky dadtrying to bond with his son again. Oh, and yes, there are robots beating the metal off each other, too. At first, Charlie keeps losing robot battles andhas no money to pay his debts. Then he has tospend the summer with his son and is not a veryloving father. But when his son goes with him tofind parts for a new robot and finds a Level 2sparring robot with a shadow function, the magicbegins.Shawn Levy is the director of this movie, and heworks great with kids and just about everyoneelse, too. The movie was wonderfully acted andscripted. Not to mention that the concept of boxingrobots is pretty cool. I also thought the specialeffects were unbelievable — the robots lookedcompletely real. But I’d have to say one thing theycould have improved on was what a robot lookedlike after being hit. The robots could have beendented and scratched a little more and not sogood-looking after a couple blows to the head. The music set the mood and carried the emotionin the movie. (What would a movie be without agood soundtrack?)Overall, this movie is about 4 out of 5 stars, but Iwould only recommend this movie for around 1112 and up because of the bad example thecharacters set. A kid would have to be able toknow that he/she can’t go home and startpunching things.Go out and see Real Steel! What do you think?

TheImpossible Missions Force is blamed for thebombing of Kremlin, so Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise)and his team try to get back their reputation bypreventing a nuclear missile from killing everyoneon Earth. Can the team undertake this impossiblemission?Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol is a quickwitted picture fast on its feet. From the beginning, Iwas on the edge of my seat. Scene after scene,Hunt and his team are on the move. There are somany cool and inventive high-tech gadgets in themovie combined with breathtaking visuals, makingit even more intense.I recommend this film to teens 13 and up. Mission:Impossible — Ghost Protocol is a wonderfulcinematic experience filled with action, and I thinkalmost everyone will enjoy its fast pace. What do you think?
