Prayer and WorshipTHE WORD OF THE LORDSUNDAY’S READINGSFirst Reading: Rise up in splendor,Jerusalem! Your light has come, the gloryof the Lord shines upon you. (Is 60:1)Dear Friends in Christ,Psalm: Lord, every nation on earth willPeace and blessings to you! I pray you and your loved onesare doing well.Second Reading: It was not madeadore you. (Ps 72)known to people in other generations as ithas now been revealed to his holy apostlesand prophets by the Spirit: that theGentiles are coheirs, members of the samebody, and copartners in the promise inChrist Jesus through the gospel.(Eph 3:5-6)I wanted to wish you a Happy New Year and a gloriousEpiphany of the Lord. In the gospel this Sunday, we read thatthe Magi "were overjoyed at seeing the star, and on entering thehouse they saw the child with Mary, his mother. They prostratedthemselves and did him homage. Then they opened theirGospel: Where is the newborn king oftreasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, andthe Jews? We saw his star at its rising andhave come to do him homage.” (Mt 2:2)myrrh."Today the magi are giving thanks to God for the gift of his Son,bringing themselves to the one who was sent to bringsalvation to all. The Son who reveals God to us and who weought to be. Epiphany calls us to bring the gift of ourselves toGod and hopefully this year will be a year of great renewal forall peoples as we strive to grow closer to the Son of God.I also invite all parishioners to sign up for FLOCKNOTES a great and efficient way to communicate with ourparishioners in real time.
