WHY PRECIOUS METALS?Inside or Outside of a Retirement Plan, Tangible Assets Can Give You BetterControl and Portfolio DiversificationYou have insurance for your life, insurance for your home and eveninsurance for your car, but too many people overlook having insurancefor their investments. We all know that the goal of any financialinvestment is to grow the buying power of your hard-earned dollar, but what happens if you place your bet on the wrong stock, bond orother investment? What if you could have insurance on your financesto help shelter you from losses, just like your other insurance does? The fact is, investors have been doing this with precious metals fordecades. Acquiring and holding physical precious metals allows you toadd non-correlated assets to your overall investment portfolio.Investing in and owning precious metals, including gold, silver, platinum and even palladium, can help balance your portfolio fromequity investment losses, help safeguard your money from the longterm effects of currency devaluation, help shelter your assets fromworld economic crises and prepare you and your family for the effectsof inflation. When you own physical gold and other precious metals, you don’t relyon the promise of some corporate CEO, the whim of the stock market,or some investment account that the government is watching over. When you make an acquisition with us, we either ship your purchasedirectly to your home or business in a nondescript, fully insuredpackage so you have physical possession, or we can assist you withestablishing a fully segregated, insured, audited, and secure storageaccount at the nation’s only precious metals depository authorized bylaw for use by the public -- the Texas Bullion Depository. In eithercase, you have full control over your assets; there is no wondering if it’sreally there when you need it most.1

Your grandfather - andyour financial advisor were right! You probably already understand the importance of diversifying yourinvestments. In fact, that’s the #1 thing that our clients tell us attracted themto precious metals in the first place. What you may not realize, though, isthat it’s not enough to just diversify INTO precious metals. To truly protectyour assets, you must also diversify WITHIN your precious metals holdingsand create a portfolio that is balanced and strong. Otherwise, you end uphaving all your eggs in one basket, which we all know is a bad idea, nomatter what you’re investing in.The real goal of all of this is to create a precious metalsportfolio that gives you the best opportunity for assetappreciation while helping to shelter your moneyfrom volatility and major drops along the way.No investment strategy is without risks, and you should understand andevaluate if owning and investing in precious metals is right for you.HOW TO GET THE MOSTBULLION FOR YOUR BUCKGold and silver coins and bars aremade available to individual investorsin sizes ranging from 1 gram (about thesize of a pinky nail), to 1 kilogram (sizeof an iPhone), to even 1,000 ounces(size of a loaf of bread!).The price that dealers charge for theseitems takes into account the currentspot price for gold or silver, in additionto costs related to refining the metalto remove impurities, manufacturingusable form factors (minting of thecoins and pressing or pouring of thebars), transportation and distribution, administration, and other expensesrelated to the precious metals supplychain. The result is a product thattypically trades between 2% to 20%higher than the spot price of themetal on the Commodities Exchangemarket (COMEX). This built-inmarkup should NOT be mistaken assales commissions, transaction fees,or dealer margin; however, in somecases dealers may charge these fees inaddition to the built-in markup. The percentage over spot is generallyless as the unit size increases (a 1kilogram bar has a lower price overspot than a 1 gram bar does – since itcosts far less to make one large bar thanit does to make 1,000 small bars) and isalso generally lower for gold than it isfor silver. When acquiring precious metalsbullion as an investment, you shouldtry to buy as close to the spot price aspossible. Since the liquidation price isusually based solely on the total weightof the metal, the premium over themarket price on the front end can eatinto your profit when you go to sell. Todo this wisely, look for larger-sized barsand privately minted coins, which havelower premiums than small bars andgovernment-minted coins.2

AN INTELLIGENT STRATEGYMaking the Case for DiversificationDiversification is an investment philosophy andstrategy designed to manage overall risk. Assets aredivided into “classes.” Two assets that respond inthe same way to changes in the economic landscapeare said to be “correlated.” Two assets that responddifferently to changes in the economy are said tobe “non-correlated.” Stocks and precious metals, for example, are two different asset classes, as theygenerally do not go up and down at the same timeas each other. That’s why many investors have some ofeach in their financial portfolio and it’s one of the keyreasons that many people turn to gold. What many people don’t understand, though, is that youcan follow this exact same strategy with your preciousmetal investments. In the gold market, this translates tobalancing your portfolio between the different metalsasset classes – bullion metals, numismatic coins andCertified Investment Grade Coins.Bullion can be found in various forms, includingminted coins, gold bars and other form factors– and they are all valued the same way – by theirweight. The value of bullion, or “raw gold,” floatsup and down every minute with the market priceof the metal itself. This is known as the “spot price.”This is similar to how the market works for crudeoil, wheat, natural gas and other commodities (andyes, even pork bellies!).3Investment Grade Coins, on the other hand, arecoins minted by the U.S. Mint or other worldmints that have shown a track record of investmentperformance that exceeds that of bullion and evenother rare or semi-rare coins. Our company definesInvestment Grade Coins as those specimens of thehighest quality, which usually means they are morelikely to have lower populations in the marketplace.Investment Grade Coins don’t tradeon an index and therefore have avalue that is much less volatile thanbullion. This is the key factor thatmakes these coins ideal for investorswho want to shelter their assets fromthe risks of the commodities andequities markets.Unlike with bullion, the price of Investment GradeCoins is not subject to manipulation by worldbanks, the Fed, or other political forces. Instead, thevalue is wholly determined by supply and investordemand, just like prime real estate and other highlysought after tangible assets.

These coins help bolster yourprecious metals portfolio to shieldyou against volatility and to attemptto set you up with the opportunityfor long-term growth, which iswhat makes a mixed portfolio ofboth bullion and Investment GradeCoins more diversified and morebalanced.Slice your pie based onyour investment goals.Your specific mix of precious metalasset classes should be determinedby your individual tolerance forrisk, your time horizon and yourpersonal investment philosophy.Portfolios heavily exposed to thebullion market are generally moreaggressive and therefore more risky. They are often recommended forshort-term investors who want toplace a bet on imminent marketmoves and for investors who arecapable of stomaching a high degreeof risk, since the price of commoditygold can rise or fall dramatically in ashort amount of time.Portfolios that are weighted towardInvestment Grade Coins are consideredto be more stable and conservative, since historical data indicates muchless pricing volatility, along withsteady price appreciation wheninvestor demand is high. This typeof portfolio is ideal for investors whowant to limit their exposure to theups and downs of the bullion marketand shelter their investments fromthe geopolitical forces that are out oftheir control. They are also best forinvestors who are able to hold for atleast 5 years, to allow the investmentsufficient time to mature andincrease in price enough to coverthe market spread when acquired.WHY COINS GETCERTIFIEDCertification is a process of registeringcoins with an official certifyingorganization to ensure theirauthenticity and grade the condition.Certified Investment Grade Coins aresealed in a tamper-proof holder toprotect their condition. All Investment Grade Coins are givena unique registration number, just likea serial number, so they can be easilyand precisely identified by collectorsand investors, even if they don’t havephysical possession of the actual coin.First and foremost, this processauthenticates your coin as being a truegovernment issue and NOT a copy, fake, replica or counterfeit.Second, once the condition of thecoin is determined, it is sealed in aprotective holder to preserve it fromdamage.Third, your coin is assigned a uniqueregistration number. If your coin isever lost or stolen, you can proveownership with this number. Finally, certified coins are tracked in“Population Reports” so you will knowhow many other coins are like yours. These “Population Reports” are criticalin determining the rarity of your coin. You should check with a registeredinvestment advisor before making adecision to own metals.4

GOLD AMERICAN EAGLES IN PERFECTPROOF 70 GRADELarge Enough Population For an Active Market, But Low Enough to HavePrice Increase OpportunitiesGold American Eagle coins certified in Proof70 condition are the finest specimens of thesecoins known to exist, which is what makes themInvestment Grade Coins. Our executive teamhas more than 50 years of combined professionalexperience creating metals investment portfoliosand has identified the Gold Eagle Proof Series asthe top recommendation for those interested in acertified gold coin investment. These coins comein sets of four coins -- one of each size coin mintedin the same year.Due to increasing demand and a fixed supply, theprice stability for these coins is more predictablethan bullion. That’s why the U.S. Gold Bureaurecommends these coin sets as a long-term store ofvalue, while setting you up with an opportunity forreasonable appreciation over time. It is importantto keep in mind that these gold coins will neverbe lower in value than the metal content weight ofeach coin, respectively. As such, there is always apricing floor on these coins -- something that can’tbe said about equities or bonds.5The Gold Eagle Proof coins that we offer havebeen independently tested and certified in perfectcondition and are considered true InvestmentGrade Coins because of their quality. The valueof these certified coins is driven by their rarity, expressed as the population of perfect conditioncoins in the market, which are called “Proof 70s” incoin certification terminology. The population figure indicates how many of thesecoins are in existence in the world. Generallyspeaking, the lower the population the higher theprice. For some coins, this population numbercan be extremely low -- we’re talking fewer than afew hundred examples in the entire world. This isthe case, for instance, for the Gold Eagle Proof 704-Coin Set from 1993. Because of the extreme rarityof this set, it has increased in price exponentiallyand is very difficult to find for sale on the openmarket. These are the types of coins we work to getinto the hands of our clients, because we want themto have the best opportunity for appreciation.

Our firm aggressively acquires these coins wherever we can find them, which may include estate sales, private auctions, national coin shows, and through buy-backs from existing investors. We are leaders in theGold Eagle Proof 70 market and have become a source for marketmaking in this series of coins. We are eager to buy these sets, whenever and wherever we findthem. In fact, we ask for first right of refusal when our clients wantto liquidate, since we want these sets right back in our inventory. The Bottom LineIt’s generally a good idea for most people to diversify INTO preciousmetals. But don’t forget to also diversify WITHIN precious metals,or you could be right back on the same roller coaster ride that youhave no doubt experienced with your traditional investments.EXCLUSIVESIGNATURESERIESIn partnership with Ed Moy,38th Director of the UnitedStates Mint. THE SHELDON COIN GRADING SCALEWhen a coin is certified, it is given a condition score from 1 to 70, which establishes the coin’s grade, basedon the sharpness of the original strike when the coin was minted, as well as the presence (or lack thereof)of any imperfections, such as dings, scratches or even fingerprints.Coins intended for general circulation are often referred to as “Business Strike Coins.” These coins havea matte finish, just like a nickel or quarter that you may have in your pocket right now. The subset ofthese coins that is at or near the top condition are called Mint State. A coin from the Old West that is insuperior condition, with minimal visible scratches, for example, may achieve a grade of Mint State 64,written as “MS64.”Proof coins differ in appearance from Mint State coins. The term “Proof ” refers to the method ofmanufacture and not the condition of the coin. Proof coins are struck on a highly polished planchet (asblank coins are called) giving the fields a mirrored effect while the image or portrait has razor-sharp edgesand a frosted finish.Historically, proof coins were sometimes minted and given tomembers of Congress, placed on display at exhibits and gifted toforeign dignitaries. Most of these coins were never intended forgeneral circulation and are generally considered to be quite rare.Modern Proofs are made by the United States Mint in gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. The mintages of these coins arenearly always a small fraction of the Business Strike coins that arecirculated as bullion. Oftentimes, the U.S. Mint will set a productionlimit or only produce the proof coins for a certain period of time. These Proofs are intended for collectors and investors and trade ata higher premium above the spot price of gold, even before they arecertified. Plus, they are still backed by their metal content, whichassures their base value.Proof coins that are certified are denoted with the letters “PR” or“PF” and are generally in demand from investors when they achievethe coveted Proof 70 status, since these are the rarest of the rare.7

GOLD IS THE ONLY REAL MONEYGold, by nature’s design, is indestructible. If youapply heat to gold, it turns to liquid and is still gold.Once cooled, it becomes the familiar solid form weall recognize. If you take a hammer and beat it, youstill have gold. If you drop gold into the ocean and letthe salt water attack it for centuries, when you pull itup, it is still gold! This was one of the main reasons why gold becamemoney, because of its ability to maintain its integritywithout breaking down. Before gold was used asmoney, people bartered with other commoditiessuch as corn, wheat, livestock, and others. The problem with this system is two-fold. First, the“equal value” problem -- what is more valuable, abushel of corn or a cow? Since each commodity hada different value, it was hard to set a standard value. For instance, how do you value a cow relative to othercommodities -- is it worth one bushel of corn, two,or three?Well, it depended upon which commodity you owned. If you owned the cow, of course you would considerthe milk and the meat to be the most valuable. Butif you owned the corn, you would say, that “withoutcorn to feed your cow, it will starve, so the corn ismore valuable” and the battle continued.9Gold Offers Greater MonetarySecurity When Compared ToFiat Currency.

UNDERSTANDINGSPOT PRICEThe “spot price” represents the currentmarket rate for gold (symbol: XAU)and silver (symbol: XAG) contractsas established by the CommoditiesExchange (COMEX), a division ofthe New York Mercantile Exchange(NYMEX). The COMEX is theprimary market for commoditiesbrokers, commercial producers andinstitutional buyers to trade gold andsilver options and futures contracts. The second problem with this system was the “store of value” problem. If you were a corn farmer and had a record crop producing more cornthan you could use, you would store your corn and save it. However, over time if you did not use the corn it would go bad and its value woulddiminish to zero. So, the commodities used in barter all had a shelf life and only hadvalue for a limited amount of time. Additionally, all commodities havedifferent values to different users so there was no standard for all people. If you were poor, corn would be very important and have a high value, however if you were rich, corn may not be as valuable to you beyonda certain amount. This is why a system was needed so that all peoplewould have a standard measure of values. The standard size of a contract is 100ounces for gold and 5,000 ouncesfor silver. The NYMEX is also theleading exchange for platinum, palladium, aluminum, copper, coal, crude oil, gasoline, heating oil andother commodities. Prices listed onthe COMEX in no way represent theselling price for physical gold andsilver coins and bars to individualinvestors, though the spot price is oneof several components that ultimatelydoes set that price. For example, the U.S. Mint sells its gold coins todistributors at a premium of 3% to 5%over spot price, and its silver coins atcloser to 10% “over spot.”Gold had all the answers!Gold is a commodity, yet is limited in supply. It is indestructible, so itwill last forever. If you were rich or poor, you wanted it. Mankind hadcreated “the Gold Standard,” a standard of value for all. Gold is truemoney and is recognized all over the world as valuable.10

THE HISTORY OF GOLDGold through the ages. Since thedawn of civilization, gold has beenprized by every major culture andnation state. The universal appeal and intrinsic value of gold hassurvived the rise and fall of the Egyptian, Greek,Roman, Spanish and English empires. By the timeJesus was born, gold had been in widespread usefor 4,000 years.Gold’s first historically documented appearanceas ornamentation dates as far back as 4000 B.C.in Central and Eastern Europe. By 3000 B.C., theEgyptians were beating gold into leaf and creatingmetal alloys to improve its color and hardness.During this same era, the Sumerians, in what isnow modern day Iraq, began creating gold jewelry.By 1500 B.C., gold’s universal popularity was soprevalent throughout the civilized world that it wasthe standard exchange of value for settling tradeimbalances among nations.During this same era, the shekel became the firstcoin circulated using 2/3 gold and 1/3 silver content.By 560 B.C., the first coin minted from pure goldfirst went into circulation in Asia Minor and goldcoins have been minted ever since.Throughout all of civilized history, nations havefought wars to gain it and have spent fortunes toprotect it. In today’s modern world, virtually every11major nation state continues to have some form ofgold coin in circulation, although their legal tendervalues are largely symbolic.Around the world, such gold coins have becomehighly prized collectibles with values that are, inmany cases, exponentially higher than the value ofthe base gold bullion content value.Think about it. After more than6,000 years have passed, goldremai
