THE ONE PERCENTERUTAH INTERMOUNTAINOUTLAW MOTORCYCLEGANG INTELLIGENCE GROUPVolume 2, Issue 14JULY 2011THE HELLS ANGELS MCThe Hells Angels MC wasfounded on March 17, 1948 aftera man named Otto Friedli and agroup of his friends broke offfrom the Pissed off Bastards ofBloomington (POBOB’s) andfounded the first chapter of theHells Angels MC. The nameHells Angels has a lot of mythsand rumors about how it cameto be. Many believe it came froma WWII fighter squadron thatwas known as the Hells Angels, while others believe it was because people who resided inFontana California, where theoriginal members lived oftenreferred to the group of motorcycle riders as Hells Angels asthey rode wildly through thestreets of Fontana. Either waythe name has become synonymous with what many considerto be the greatest criminal organization since the mafia toexist. Many do not know this, but theoriginal POBOBS were not onlya motorcycle club, but a car clubas well. Once the club split, thenewly formed Hells Angels MCstuck to being a motorcyclesonly club. In 1954 a second chapter of the Hells Angels MC cameinto existence with the mergingof the San Francisco (Frisco)California based Market StreetCommandos MC.The Hells Angels MC has beenclassified by both the FederalBureau of Investigations and theCanadian Security IntelligenceService as a member of the “BIG4” of motorcycle gangs. That listis also made up of the Bandidos,Pagans, and Outlaws MC’s.One rumor about the early daysof the clubs history is, just afterthe forming of the club, therewas another group of Hells Angels MC in Gardena California.Neither the Fontana nor SanFrancisco chapters knew theyexisted, as well the GardenaHells Angels did not know aboutthe Fontana or Frisco chapters.Eventually over time the twoseparate Hells Angels met andmerged into one organization. The original insignia of the HellsAngels was taken from the 552ndMedium Bomber Squadron, andthe 85th Fighter Squadron. Eventually the president of the FriscoChapter Frank Sadilek designed aversion of the club logo whicheventually became the revered“Death Head.” After the Anthony Tait case known as Operation Ruff Rider which endedin 1987 the Hells Angels MCsewed the mouth of the deathhead which originally was openshut. They did this to signify thatangels don’t talk. It was a littletoo late by that time.Like most OMG the Hells Angelsrun their organization with amilitary type structure. Unlikeranks like the military, the HellsAngels officer ranks are follows:President., Vice-President., Secretary, Treasure, Sgt-at-Arms,Road Captain., Full PatchedMembers., Prospects, and Hangarounds.THE ROCKSTARS OF THE OMG WORLDBecoming a member of the HellsAngels MC is a long road, whichmost do not travel, those thatdo rarely make it. Unlike otherOMG the Angels can pick fromthe choices ranks in the bikerworld. Becoming a Hells Angelsmember begins as a hangaround. One is then invited toprospect for the club. If theprospect period is survived thenthey are granted full membership. From their one may moveinto one of the various officerranks. Prospective memberscannot be of African AmericanDescent, been a convicted childmolester, have testified or supplied information to law enforcement, or have ever worked as,or applied to work as a policeofficer, or corrections officer. The Hells Angels MC is the clubsthat all OMG even their enemiesstrive to be. They have sincetheir birth been leading the wayin the OMG world. Most of whatother OMG and MC in existencetoday do, how they act, and thepatches they wear on their cuts/colors are all copied from theHells Angels MC.At this time it is believed thatthe Hells Angels MC has over100 chapters in 29 countries. The first chapter outside of theUnited States was founded in theearly 1960’s. Volume 2, Issue 14Page 7THE MAN WHO RUNS VENTURA, CALIFORNIAMany have said that GeorgeChristie runs Ventura Californialike the president runs theWhite House. A man that hasworked his way into the businessworld in Ventura and has comeout as one of the most respected in that city. When mostof society sees a Hells AngelsMC member as a burly longhaired, heavily tattooed criminal, many in Ventura see Christie hassome sort of folk hero. In 1984Christie ran with the OlympicTorch for a charity event.Christie has cultivated the imageof an upstanding citizen who lawenforcement has done nothingbut harass. Many in Ventura have lookedpast Christie’s criminal side. In1987 he was acquitted on a murder-for-hire charge after attempting to hire a member ofthe Mexican Mafia to kill a policeinformant. Christie thanked thejurors in the case, by hosting aBBQ in their honor. He has beena guest speaker at the VenturaHigh School, as well as speakingon the topic of ethics in thefields of journalism and criminalprosecution. At least 700,000 vicodin andValium pills were diverted bythe Airman into the hands ofdrug dealers who were eithermembers or associates of theHells Angels MC.Jury that had convened againstthe Christie’s and the othersinvolved in the case was defective as it contained too fewwoman. After a year of being in custodyChristie, his ex-wife, and his sonGeorge Christie III also a member of the Hells Angels MC pledguilty to reduced charges. Thecase against the Christie wasstrong but plea-bargains wereforced after a Judge in SantaBarbara ruled that the GrandIn 1998 the Ventura Chapter ofthe Hells Angels lead by Christiehosted the 50th anniversary ofthe club. Christiehas worked most his life as atattoo artist, having establishedthe Ink House Tattoo of Venturain 1976.In 1998 law enforcement startedlooking into Christie and hisimmediate family after receivinginformation that they were involved in the sale of variousnarcotics, which included largequantities of prescription pills.Law enforcement believed thatChristie, his family, and othersinvolved with the Hells Angelsused high school students to sellnarcotics.drug related charges with thelast arrest coming against his sonGeorge Christie III on May 02,2011.Christie claims to have left theAngels and now runs a consulting business called Felony PrisonConsultants (FPC). Christieworks with those who have beenconvicted of crimes and areheaded to prison. FPC teachesfuture inmates the skills theyneed to survive in prison. The student based drug organization was so advanced it wasknown on the street as “TheOutfit.” In February of 2001Christie, his ex-wife, son, anddaughter were taken into custody along with 23 other HellsAngels MC members and associates. The law enforcement investigation found that a large numberof the prescription pills werecoming from a member of theUnited States Air force througha 23 year old airman whoworked as a purchasing clerk ina medical squadron at an airbase in Los Angeles California.

THE ONE PERCENTERPage 8“COME IN PEACE OR LEAVE IN PIECES”In 1994 the Hells Angels MCstarted courting an OMG inArizona known as the DirtyDozen. The Dirty Dozen MChad been around for 25 yearsand was a club that in and ofitself was just as dangerous asthe Angels. At the time the Angels started negotiating with theDozen, they had around 120members spread out in Arizona. On October 16, 1997 the HellsAngels MC Cave Creek Chapterbegan its life. Cave Creek was amixture of former Dirty DozenMC members and HA membersthat transferred in from otherstates. Of the original 120 Dozenmembers that were in Arizonaonly around 60 actually startedthe process of becoming Angels. The Angels only kept the creamof crop when it came to theDozen, and not all 60 thatstarted the process moved on tobecome full patched Angels. Oneof those that did make the cutwas Dirty Dozen MC CaveCreek Chapter President Daniel“Hoover” Seybert. Hooverstayed on as chapter presidentwhen the Dozen officially became Hells Angels.Due to Hoovers close association with Sonny who still is thevoice of the Hells Angels MCworldwide the hit on Hooverwas a bold move if it had beendone so at the hands of his fellow Angels. Some in the Angelsbelieve the hit came at the handsof the Federal Government.Rumors have stirred that Hoover was causing problems for theATF Agents involved in Operation Black Biscuit, enough so thatthe Feds went black op’s andexecuted him with a well placedsniper shot, even going as far asplanting a small caliber gun in hisback pocket as it seems the casetook off once Hoover was out ofthe way. Even with the rumor ofthe Feds whacking Hoover, theAngels went after a Mongols MCmember two days later in Reno,Nevada stabbing him in the back. Many believe this was revengefor Hoover, but in this case theMongols MC member lived. When Sonny Barger transferredinto the Cave Creek Chapter inOctober 1998, he immediatelytook Hoover under his wing.Hoover who worked as a motorcycle mechanic opened amotorcycle shop with Sonny inNorth Phoenix and the twoTo date Hoovers homicide hasnever been solved and is sittingin the cold case files.HOOVER (FRONT LEFT) WITH SONNY (REAR RIGHT)became best of friends. Manyreferred to Hoover as Barger’sprotégée. Hoover was respected by all who met him; thisnot only included his friends buteven his enemies. Hoover had anextreme hatred for law enforcement and was one to vocalize hishatred every chance he could. On March 22, 2003 Hoover anda group of Angels exited a barnamed Bridgett’s Last Laugh inPhoenix, Arizona. As the groupof 25 or so Angels and associatesstarted their bikes, Hooverslumped over his handle bars.Initially the group thought he hada heart attack, until they noticeda small hole in his forehead. The Angels claimed that Hooverhad been shot by a Mongols MCsniper, but the autopsy reportshowed that Hoover was shot atclose range by a small caliberhandgun which was locatedduring the investigation inHoovers back pocket. None ofthe Angels or associates on handwhich included Hooversgirlfriend who was seated behindHoover on his motorcycle sawor heard anything. Many havespeculated that the hit onHoover came at the hands ofHells Angels MC members whofelt that Hoover had become toopowerful and because at thistime in Arizona there a powerstruggle going on within theArizona Angels.“COME IN PEACE OR LEAVE INPIECES.”When the Hells Angels MC first met with the Arizona based Dirty Dozen MC the members of theDozen assigned to the meeting arrived wearing tshirts that said “Come in Peace of Leave in Pieces,”the Dozen themselves were just as dangerous as theHells Angels MC and there was no doubt if themeeting went sideways it would have effected bothgangs for a long time after. Of course it went welland the Dozen was retired a while later and becamethe Arizona based Hells Angels MC.

Groff has sued the city in federal court, claiming that what the city called illegalfraternization with the Pagans motorcycle club was really just negotiations that got the Pagans to stop beating upmembers of his club.Groff is seeking to get back his job, more than 150,000 and punitive damages against Chief William M. Heim.Heim said the suit contains only Groff's side of the case, but declined to comment further.Backed by City Council, Heim fired Groff in June 2009 for repeatedly fraternizing with the Pagans while he was offduty, violating a contract clause that bans police from associating with a felon or someone with a reputation for criminal behavior.Groff also was accused of alcohol abuse and lying during the internal affairs probe.Groff joined the police force in 2005 and in 2009 was receiving a salary of 59,096, which ended at the firing. He filed a grievance to protest the firing, but an arbitrator ruled in the city's favor in March 2010.In his suit filed in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia, Groff said he was a member of the Leathernecks motorcycleclub, consisting of honorably discharged Marine veterans. He said Leathernecks officials asked him to meet with the Pagans because they had been assaulting Leathernecks. The assaults stopped, he said.He said his police supervisors were aware of his efforts, but didn't warn him he was doing anything wrong. After he was fired, he won jobless benefits when a state unemployment board ruled that any contact he had with thePagans was incidental and didn't violate city policies.http://readingeagle.com/article.aspx?id 313101Former Officer Mark Goff
