Religious diversity is a commonfeature of modern, multiculturalsocieties. To many people religion isintegral in defining their identity.

Iceberg model of diversityDiversity describes the spectrumof human similarities anddifferences. It refers to thecomposition of people associatedwith the organization.Inclusion on the other hand, describes the way an organizationconfigures opportunity, interaction, communication, information and decision-makingto utilize the potential of diversity. It refers to the organizationalenvironment.Achieving inclusion meanscreating the structures, policiesand practices in organizational-lifethat recognize the existence ofmultiple perspectives and signalthe importance of learning fromdifferences.Organizations might be diversewithout being inclusive.Vol 7, No 2 - January 2000 TheWorkplace Diversity Network
