Once I started delving intothe world of his collection, Irealised it’s not just a possession,it’s a lifestyle.”. Damon was anindefatigable collector and wasalways on the quest for materialrelating to the World Exhibition;the 1951 Festival of Britain beingone of his favourites. He was an active member of theBritish World Exhibitions StudyGroup, soon becoming theirMembership Secretary andTreasurer. He accumulated a vastknowledge about the subject, whichis palpable throughout his personalcollection of medals, postcards, books, leaflets, ephemera, and othermemorabilia.
