اﻟﺒﻘﺮة 2The Heifer۟ ُ ﻳﻦ َﻛ َﻔﺮ إ ﱠن ﱠ ٦ 6 As for those who disbelieve—it isَ وا َﺳﻮَ ٓا ٌء ﻋَ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬﻢْ َء َأ ْ ﻧﺬرْ َﺗ ُﻬ ْﻢ َأم َ ِ ٱﻟﺬ ِthe same for them, whether youَ ﻮن َ َﻟ ْﻢ ُﺗﻨﺬِ رْ ُﻫ ْﻢ ﻻ ﻳُ ْﺆﻣِ ُﻨ have warned them, or have notwarned them—they do not believe.ُُ ﱠ َََ ﻰ ٓ ٰ ﻰ َﺳﻤْ ﻌِ ِﻬ ْﻢ ۖ وَ ﻋَ ﻠ ٰ ﻰ ﻗﻠﻮ ِﺑ ِﻬ ْﻢ وَ ﻋَ ﻠ ٰ َﺧ َﺘﻢَ ٱﻟﻠ ُﻪ ﻋَ ﻠ ٧ 7 God has set a seal on their heartsand on their hearing, and over theirَ ٰ ِ ْﺼ ِﺮﻫِ ْﻢ ﻏ ٌ ﻈﻴﻢ ِ َ اب ﻋ ٌ ﺸﻮَ ٌة ۖ وَ َﻟ ُﻬ ْﻢ ﻋَ َﺬ َ ٰ َأﺑ vision is a veil. They will have asevere torment.ْ ﭑﻟﻠﻪِ وَ ِﺑ ﻮل َءاﻣَ ﱠﻨﺎ ِﺑ ﱠ ُ ﺎس ﻣَ ﻦ ﻳ َُﻘ ﭑﻟ َﻴﻮْ ِم ِ وَ ﻣِ َﻦ ٱﻟ ﱠﻨ ٨ 8 Among the people are those whosay, “We believe in God and in theْ ِﻴﻦ َ ٱل َءاﺧِ ِﺮ وَ ﻣَ ﺎ ُﻫﻢ ِﺑﻤُ ْﺆﻣِ ﻨ Last Day,” but they are not believers.۟ ﻳﻦ َءاﻣَ ُﻨ ٱﻟﻠ َﻪ وَ ﱠ ﻮن ﱠ ْ ﻮا وَ ﻣَ ﺎ ﻳ ﻮن َ ُ َﺨﺪَﻋ َ ِ ٱﻟﺬ َ ُ ﻳُ ٰ َﺨﺪِ ﻋ ٩ 9 They seek to deceive God andthose who believe, but they deceiveُ ﻻ َأ ٓ ِإ ﱠ none but themselves, though they ون َ ُ ﻧﻔ َﺴ ُﻬ ْﻢ وَ ﻣَ ﺎ َﻳ ْﺸﻌُ ﺮ are not aware. َض َﻓ َﺰا َد ُﻫ ُﻢ ﱠ ٌ ﻓِ ﻰ ُﻗ ُﻠﻮ ِﺑ ِﻬﻢ ﻣﱠ ﺮ ١٠ 10 In their hearts is sickness, andً ٱﻟﻠ ُﻪ ﻣَ ﺮ َﺿﺎ ۖ وَ َﻟ ُﻬ ْﻢ God has increased their sickness.ۢ اب َأﻟ ۟ ﺎﻧ ْ ﻮا ﻳ ُ ِﻴﻢٌ ِﺑﻤَ ﺎ َﻛ ُﻮن ٌ ﻋَ َﺬ They will have a painful punishmentَ َﻜﺬِ ﺑ because of their denial.َ ْ وا ﻓِ ﻰ ُ ض َﻗ ۟ ﻴﻞ َﻟ ُﻬ ْﻢ َﻻ ُﺗ ْﻔ ِﺴ ُﺪ َ ِ وَ ِإ َذا ﻗ ١١ 11 And when it is said to them, “Doِ ْ ٱﻷر ﺎﻟ ٓﻮ ۟ا not make trouble on earth,” they say,ُ ﺼﻠ ْ ُ “ ِإ ﱠﻧﻤَ ﺎ ﻧَ ْﺤ ُﻦ ﻣ We are only reformers.” ﻮن َ ِﺤ ََْٰ ﻻ إ ﱠﻧ ُﻬﻢْ ُﻫ ُﻢ ون َ ُ ون وَ َﻟﻜِﻦ ﱠﻻ َﻳ ْﺸﻌُ ﺮ َ ٱﻟﻤُ ْﻔ ِﺴ ُﺪ ِ ٓ أ ١٢ 12 In fact, they are thetroublemakers, but they are notaware.۟ ﻴﻞ َﻟ ُﻬ ْﻢ َءاﻣِ ُﻨ َ ِ وَ ِإ َذا ﻗ ١٣ 13 And when it is said to them, ﺎس ُ ﻮا َﻛﻤَ ٓﺎ َءاﻣَ َﻦ ٱﻟ ﱠﻨ َ ُ “ َﻗ Believe as the people haveٓ َ ٱﻟﺴ َﻔ َﻬ ٓﺎ ُء ۗ َأ ﻻ ِإ ﱠﻧ ُﻬ ْﻢ ُﻫ ُﻢ ﺎﻟ ٓﻮ ۟ا أ ُﻧ ْﺆﻣِ ُﻦ َﻛﻤَ ٓﺎ َءاﻣَ َﻦ ﱡ believed,” they say, “Shall weٰbelieveas the fools have believed?” ﱠ ﻮن ﱡ َ ُ ٱﻟﺴ َﻔ َﻬ ٓﺎ ُء وَ َﻟﻜِﻦ ﻻ ﻳَﻌْ َﻠﻤ In fact, it is they who are the fools,but they do not know.ُ ﻮا َﻗ ۟ ﻳﻦ َءاﻣَ ُﻨ ۟ وَ إ َذا َﻟ ُﻘ ١٤ 14 And when they come across those ﻮا ﱠ ﺎﻟ ٓﻮ ۟ا َءاﻣَ ﱠﻨﺎ وَ ِإ َذا َ ِ ٱﻟﺬ ِwho believe, they say, “We believe”;ُ ﻄﻴﻨِﻬ ْﻢ َﻗ َ ۟ َ ﺎﻟ ٓﻮ ۟ا ِإ ﱠﻧﺎ ﻣَ ﻌَ ُﻜ ْﻢ ِإ ﱠﻧﻤَ ﺎ َﻧ ْﺤ ُﻦ ِ ِ ﻰ َﺷ ٰ َﻴ ٰ َﺧﻠﻮْ ا ِإﻟ but when they are alone with their ون َ ﻣُ ْﺴﺘ َْﻬ ِﺰ ُء devils, they say, “We are with you;we were only ridiculing.” ﱠ ُ َﺴﺘ َْﻬ ِﺰئُ ِﺑ ِﻬ ْﻢ وَ َﻳﻤُ ﱡﺪ ُﻫ ْﻢ ﻓِ ﻰ ﻃ ْﻐ ٰ َﻴﻨ ِِﻬ ْﻢ ْ ٱﻟﻠ ُﻪ ﻳ ١٥ 15 It is God who ridicules them, andleaves them bewildered in their ﻮن َ َﻳﻌْ ﻤَ ُﻬ transgression.page 2

اﻟﺒﻘﺮة ٓ ُْ َ ٰ ٱﺷ َﺘﺮَوُ ۟ا ﱠ ِﻚ ﱠ ْ ﻳﻦ َ أ ۟و ٰ َﻟﺌ ى َﻓﻤَ ﺎ َ ِ ٱﻟﺬ ٰ ٱﻟﻀﻠَ َﻠﺔ ِﺑﭑﻟ ُﻬ َﺪ 2The Heifer16 Those are they who have barterederrorfor guidance; but their trade۟ ﺎﻧ ُ َر ِﺑ َﺤﺖ ﱢﺗ ٰ َﺠﺮ َُﺗ ُﻬ ْﻢ وَ ﻣَ ﺎ َﻛ ﻳﻦ َ ِ ﻮا ﻣُ ْﻬﺘَﺪ does not profit them, and they arenot guided.ََُ ﱠ ََ ٱﺳ َﺘﻮْ ﻗ َﺪ َﻧﺎ ًرا ﻓﻠﻤﱠ ٓﺎ ْ ﻞ ٱﻟﺬِى ِ ﻣَ َﺜﻠ ُﻬ ْﻢ ﻛﻤَ َﺜ ١٧ 17 Their likeness is that of a personwho kindled a fire; when it ﺐ ﱠ َ ٱﻟﻠ ُﻪ ِﺑ ُﻨﻮ ِرﻫِ ْﻢ وَ َﺗﺮ َ َأ illuminated all around him, God tookْ ﺿ ٓﺎ َء َﻛ ُﻬ ْﻢ ت ﻣَ ﺎ َﺣﻮْ ﻟَ ُ ۥ َ ﻪ َذ َﻫ ِ ﺖ ﱠﻻ ﻳُ ْﺒ ون ٍ ﻓِ ﻰ ُﻇ ُﻠ ٰ َﻤ away their light, and left them inَ ُ ﺼﺮ darkness, unable to see.ُْۢ ١٨ 18 Deaf, dumb, blind. They will not ﻮن َ ُ َﺮْﺟﻌ ِ ﻰ َﻓ ُﻬ ْﻢ َﻻ ﻳ ٌ ْ ﺻ ﱞﻢ ﺑُﻜ ٌﻢ ﻋُ ﻤ return.ٌَ ٱﻟﺴﻤَ ٓﺎ ِء ﻓِ ﻴﻪِ ُﻇ ُﻠ ٰ َﻤ ﺖ وَ َرﻋْ ٌﺪ َ أوْ َﻛ ١٩ 19 Or like a cloudburst from the sky, ﺐ ﱢﻣ َﻦ ﱠ ٍ ﺼﻴﱢ in which is darkness, and thunder,ُ َ َﺠﻌ َ ﺻ ِﺒﻌَ ُﻬ ْﻢ ﻓِ ﻰ َء ٰ ﻮن َأ ْ وَ ﺑَﺮْ ٌق ﻳ and lightning. They press their اذاﻧ ِِﻬﻢ ﱢﻣ َﻦ ﻠ ََٰٓۢfingers into their ears from theْ ت ۚ وَ ﱠ ْ ٱﻟﺼ ٰ َﻮﻋِ ﻖ َﺣ َﺬ َر ٌَِ ْ ٱﻟﻤَ ﻮ ﱠ ﻳﻦ َ ٱﻟﻠ ُﻪ ﻣُ ﺤِ ﻴﻂ ِﺑﭑﻟﻜﻔِ ِﺮ ِthunderbolts, in fear of death. ButGod surrounds the disbelievers.ََ ﱠ َُُْ َﻫ ْﻢ ۖ ﻛﻠﻤَ ٓﺎ أ ْ َﻳ َﻜﺎ ُد ٱﻟ َﺒﺮْ ُق ﻳ ٢٠ 20 The lightning almost snatchesُ ْﺼﺮ ﺿ ٓﺎ َء َ ٰ َﺨ َﻄﻒ أﺑ their sight away. Whenever it۟ ُ َﻟ ُﻬﻢ ﻣﱠ َﺸﻮْ ۟ا ﻓِ ﻴﻪِ وَ إ َذ ٓا َأ ْﻇ َﻠﻢَ ﻋَ َﻠ ْﻴﻬ ْﻢ َﻗﺎﻣ ْ ﻮا ۚ وَ ﻟَﻮ ِِilluminates for them, they walk in it;َ ْﺼ ِﺮﻫِ ْﻢ ۚ إ ﱠن ﱠ َﺷ ٓﺎ َء ﱠ but when it grows dark over them, ٱﻟﻠ َﻪ َ ٰ ﺐ ِﺑ َﺴﻤْ ﻌِ ِﻬ ْﻢ وَ أﺑ َ ٱﻟﻠ ُﻪ َﻟ َﺬ َﻫ ِthey stand still. Had God willed, He ﻋَ َﻠﻰ ُﻛ ﱢ could have taken away their hearingَ ﻞ ﻰ ٍء َﻗﺪِ ﻳ ٌﺮ ﺷ ْٰand their sight. God is capable ofeverything.َ۟ ﺎس ٱﻋْ ُﺒ ُﺪ وا َرﺑ ُﱠﻜ ُﻢ ﱠ ْ ٱﻟﺬِى َﺧ َﻠ َﻘ ُﻜﻢ ُ ٰ َٓﻳﺄﻳﱡ َﻬﺎ ٱﻟ ﱠﻨ ٢١ 21 O people! Worship your Lord whocreated you and those before you, وَ ﱠ ُ ﻳﻦ ﻣِ ﻦ َﻗ ْﺒﻠ ﻮن َ ِﻜ ْﻢ ﻟَﻌَ ﱠﻠ ُﻜ ْﻢ َﺗ ﱠﺘ ُﻘ َ ِ ٱﻟﺬ that you may attain piety.َ ْ ﻞ ﻟَ ُﻜ ُﻢ ﱠ ٢٢ 22 He who made the earth a habitatَ َ ٱﻟﺬِ ى َﺟﻌ َ ٱﻷ ْر ٱﻟﺴﻤَ ٓﺎ َء ِﺑ َﻨ ٓﺎ ًء ض ﻓِ ٰ َﺮ ًﺷﺎ وَ ﱠ for you, and the sky a structure, andَ وَ َأﻧ َﺰ َ ٱﻟﺴﻤَ ٓﺎ ِء ﻣَ ٓﺎ ًء َﻓﺄَ ْﺧﺮ ِ َج ِﺑﻪِ ۦ ﻣِ َﻦ ٱﻟ ﱠﺜﻤَ ٰ َﺮ ت ل ﻣِ َﻦ ﱠ sends water down from the sky, andًَََُ۟ ﱠ َ ﱠ َُُ ِر ْزﻗﺎ ﻟﻜ ْﻢ ۖ ﻓﻼ َﺗ ْﺠﻌَ ﻠﻮا ﻟِﻠﻪِ أﻧ َﺪا ًدا وَ أ brings out fruits thereby, as a ﻮن َ ُ ﻧﺘ ْﻢ َﺗﻌْ ﻠﻤ sustenance for you. Therefore, donot assign rivals to God while youknow.ْ ََُ وَ ِإن ُﻛ ٢٣ 23 And if you are in doubt about what ﻰ ﻋَ ْﺒﺪِ َﻧﺎ ٍ ْ ﻨﺘ ْﻢ ﻓِ ﻰ رَﻳ ٰ ﺐ ﱢﻣﻤﱠ ﺎ ﻧ ﱠﺰﻟﻨَﺎ ﻋَ ﻠ We have revealed to Our servant,۟ ُ ﻮا ﺑ ُﺴﻮرَةٍ ﱢﻣﻦ ﱢﻣ ْﺜﻠِﻪِ ۦ وَ ٱ ْدﻋ ۟ َْ ﻮا ُﺷ َﻬ َﺪ ٓا َء ُﻛﻢ ﱢﻣﻦ ِ ﻓﺄ ُﺗ then produce a chapter like these, ُدون ﱠ and call your witnesses apart fromُ ٱﻟﻠﻪِ ِإن ُﻛ ﻴﻦ َ ٰ ْ ﻨﺘﻢ َ ِ ﺻﺪِ ﻗ ِGod, if you are truthful.١٦page 3

اﻟﺒﻘﺮة 2The Heifer۟ ﭑﺗ ُﻘ ۟ ﻮا وَ َﻟﻦ َﺗ ْﻔﻌَ ُﻠ ۟ َﻓﺈن ﱠﻟ ْﻢ َﺗ ْﻔﻌَ ُﻠ ٢٤ 24 But if you do not—and you will ﻮا ٱﻟ ﱠﻨﺎ َر ﱠ ﻮا َﻓ ﱠ ٱﻟﺘِﻰ ِnot—then beware the Fire whoseُُْْْٰ ﺎس وَ ٱﻟﺤِ َﺠﺎ َرة ۖ أﻋِ ﱠﺪ ﻳﻦ ُ وَ ُﻗﻮ ُد َﻫﺎ ٱﻟ ﱠﻨ fuel is people and stones, preparedَ ت ﻟِﻠ َﻜﻔِ ِﺮ for the disbelievers.َ ﱢ ُٰ۟۟ ﱠ ِ ِﺤ ﻳﻦ َءاﻣَ ُﻨﻮا وَ ﻋَ ﻤِ ﻠﻮا ﱠ ﺖ أ ﱠن َ ٰ ٱﻟﺼﻠ َ ِ وَ ﺑَﺸ ِﺮ ٱﻟﺬ ٢٥ 25 And give good news to those whobelieve and do righteous deeds; thatَ ْ ﺖ َﺗ ْﺠﺮى ﻣِ ﻦ َﺗ ْﺤﺘ َِﻬﺎ ۟ ٱﻷ ْﻧ ٰ َﻬﺮُ ۖ ُﻛ ﱠﻠﻤَ ﺎ رُ ز ُﻗ ٍ َﻟ ُﻬ ْﻢ َﺟ ٰﱠﻨ they will have gardens beneath ﻮا ِِ۟ ﺎﻟ ُ ﻣِ ْﻨ َﻬﺎ ﻣِ ﻦ َﺛﻤَ ﺮَةٍ ﱢر ْز ًﻗﺎ ۙ َﻗ which rivers flow. Whenever they are ﻮا ٰ َﻫ َﺬا ﱠ ٱﻟﺬِ ى رُ ِز ْﻗﻨَﺎ ﻣِ ﻦ provided with fruit therefrom as۟ ﻞ ۖ وَ ُأ ُﺗ ُ َﻗ ْﺒ sustenance, they will say, “This isَ ٰ ﻮا ِﺑﻪِ ۦ ﻣُ ﺘ َ ِ َﺸ ِﺒ ًﻬﺎ ۖ وَ َﻟ ُﻬﻢْ ﻓ ﻴﻬ ٓﺎ َأ ْز ٰ َو ٌج what we were provided with before,”َ ِ ﻣﱡ َﻄ ﱠﻬ َﺮ ٌة ۖ وَ ُﻫﻢْ ﻓ ون َ ﻴﻬﺎ ٰ َﺧ ِﻠ ُﺪ and they will be given the like of it.And they will have pure spousestherein, and they will abide thereinforever.َ إ ﱠن ﱠ ٢٦ 26 God does not shy away fromْ ﻰۦٓ أن ﻳ ْ َﺴﺘ ب ﻣَ َﺜ ًﻼ ﻣﱠ ﺎ َ َﻀ ِﺮ ْ ٱﻟﻠ َﻪ َﻻ ﻳ ِِ َﺤ making an example of a gnat, or۟ ﻳﻦ َءاﻣَ ُﻨ ﻮﺿ ًﺔ َﻓﻤَ ﺎ َﻓﻮْ َﻗ َﻬﺎ ۚ َﻓﺄَﻣﱠ ﺎ ﱠ َ ُ ﺑَﻌ ﻮا َ ِ ٱﻟﺬ something above it. As for thoseََ ﱠ ََْ ﻳﻦ َ ِ ﻮن أ ﱠﻧ ُﻪ ٱﻟ َﺤ ﱡﻖ ﻣِ ﻦ رﱠ ﱢﺑ ِﻬﻢْ ۖ وَ أﻣﱠ ﺎ ٱﻟﺬ َ ُ ﻓ َﻴﻌْ ﻠﻤ who believe, they know that it is theTruth from their Lord. But as forُ۟ ﺎذ ٓا َأرَا َد ﱠ ََ َ ﻮن ﻣ ََُ ﻀ ﱡ ُ ﺮ ِ ُ ٱﻟﻠ ُﻪ ِﺑ ٰ َﻬ َﺬا ﻣَ َﺜ ًﻼ ۘ ﻳ ﻮﻟ ﻘ ﻴ ﻓ وا ﻔ ﻛ ﻞ ََthose who disbelieve, they say,“What did God intend by this ﻀ ﱡ ِ ُ ِﺑﻪِ ۦ َﻛﺜِﻴ ًﺮا وَ ﻳ َْﻬﺪِ ى ِﺑﻪِ ۦ َﻛﺜِﻴ ًﺮا ۚ وَ ﻣَ ﺎ ﻳ ﻞ ِﺑﻪِ ۦٓ ِإ ﱠﻻ example?” He leads astray manyَْٰ ﻴﻦ َ ِ ٱﻟﻔ ِﺴﻘ thereby, and He guides manythereby; but He misleads therebyonly the evildoers. ﻮن ﻋَ ْﻬ َﺪ ﱠ ﱠ ٢٧ 27 Those who violate God’s covenantُ ﻳﻦ َﻳ ُ ﻨﻘ ٱﻟﻠﻪِ ﻣِ ۢﻦ ﺑَﻌْ ﺪِ ﻣِ ﻴ ٰ َﺜﻘِ ﻪِ ۦ َ ﻀ َ ِ ٱﻟﺬ after its confirmation, and sever what ﻮن ﻣَ ٓﺎ َأﻣَ َﺮ ﱠ َ ﻮﺻ ﻞ َ ُ ٱﻟﻠ ُﻪ ِﺑﻪِ ۦٓ َأن ﻳ َ ُ وَ ﻳ َْﻘ َﻄﻌ God has commanded to be joined,ٓ َُ ْ وَ ﻳُ ْﻔ ِﺴ ُﺪون ﻓِ ﻰ and commit evil on earth. These areْ ِﻚ ُﻫ ُﻢ ِ ٱﻷ ْر َ ض ۚ أ ۟و ٰ َﻟﺌ ون ََ ُ ٱﻟ ٰ َﺨ ِﺴﺮ the losers.ََ ون ِﺑ ﱠ ُ ﭑﻟﻠﻪِ وَ ُﻛ ۖ ﻨﺘ ْﻢ أﻣْ ٰ َﻮ ًﺗﺎ َﻓﺄ ْﺣ ٰ َﻴ ُﻜ ْﻢ َ ُ َﻛ ْﻴ َﻒ َﺗ ْﻜ ُﻔﺮ ٢٨ 28 How can you deny God, when youwere dead and He gave you life,ُ ُﺛ ﱠﻢ ﻳُ ﻤِ ﻴ ُﺘ ُﻜ ْﻢ ُﺛ ﱠﻢ ﻳُ ْﺤ ِﻴ ﻮن َ ُ ﻴﻜﻢْ ُﺛ ﱠﻢ ِإﻟَ ْﻴﻪِ ُﺗﺮْ َﺟﻌ then He will put you to death, thenHe will bring you to life, then to Himyou will be returned?ْ ٱﻟﺬِى َﺧ َﻠ َﻖ َﻟ ُﻜﻢ ﻣﱠ ﺎ ﻓِ ﻰ ُﻫﻮَ ﱠ ٢٩ 29 It is He who created for youِ ْ ٱﻷَر ض َﺟﻤِ ﻴﻌً ﺎ ُﺛﻢﱠ everything on earth, then turned toۚ ت ٍ ٱﻟﺴﻤَ ٓﺎ ِء َﻓ َﺴﻮﱠ ﯨ ُٰﻬ ﱠﻦ َﺳ ْﺒﻊَ َﺳ ٰ َﻤ ٰ َﻮ ٓ ٰ َ ٱﺳ َﺘﻮ ى ِإ َﻟﻰ ﱠ ْthe heaven, and made them sevenheavens. And He is aware of allَ ُ ﱢ ٌ ﻰ ٍء ﻋَ ﻠِﻴﻢ ْ وَ ُﻫﻮَ ِﺑﻜﻞ ﺷ things.page 4

اﻟﺒﻘﺮة 2The Heiferَ ﱡﻚ ﻟ ِْﻠﻤَ ٰﻠَٓﺌ ٌ ِ ِﻜﺔِ ِإ ﱢﻧﻰ َﺟﺎﻋ َ وَ ِإ ْذ َﻗ ٣٠ 30 When your Lord said to the ﻞ ﻓِ ﻰ َ ﺎل َرﺑ َ ْ angels, “I am placing a successor onُ ض َﺧﻠِﻴ َﻔ ًﺔ ۖ َﻗ ُ َ ﺎﻟ ٓﻮ ۟ا َأ َﺗ ْﺠﻌ َ ِ ﻞ ﻓ ِ ْ ٱﻷر ﻴﻬﺎ ﻣَ ﻦ ﻳُ ْﻔ ِﺴ ُﺪ earth.” They said, “Will You place in ﻚ ﱢ َ ِ ﻓ it someone who will cause corruptionُ ِ ﻴﻬﺎ وَ َﻳ ْﺴﻔ َ ﺤﻤْ ﺪِ ك َ ﱢﺢ ِﺑ ُ ٱﻟﺪﻣَ ٓﺎ َء وَ َﻧ ْﺤ ُﻦ ُﻧ َﺴﺒ in it and shed blood, while weَ ﺎل إ ﱢﻧ َ وَ ُﻧ َﻘ ﱢﺪ ُس ﻟ declare Your praises and sanctifyَ ﻚ ۖ َﻗ ﻮن ََ ُ ﻰ أﻋْ َﻠ ُﻢ ﻣَ ﺎ َﻻ َﺗﻌْ َﻠﻤ ِٓYou?” He said, “I know what you donot know.”َْ َ وَ ﻋَ ﱠﻠﻢَ َءا َدم ٣١ 31 And He taught Adam the names,َ ٱﻷ ْﺳﻤَ ٓﺎ َء ُﻛ ﱠﻠ َﻬﺎ ُﺛ ﱠﻢ ﻋَ ﺮ َﺿ ُﻬ ْﻢ ﻋَ َﻠﻰ all of them; then he presented themَْ ٱﻟﻤَ ٰﻠَٓﺌ َ ِﻜﺔِ َﻓ َﻘ ُ ﺎل َأ ۢﻧ ِﺒـُٔﻮﻧِﻰ ِﺑﺄَ ْﺳﻤَ ٓﺎ ِء ٰ َٓﻫ ُﺆ َﻻٓ ِء ِإن ُﻛ ﻨﺘ ْﻢ to the angels, and said, “Tell Me the ﻴﻦ َ ٰ names of these, if you are sincere.”َ ِ ﺻﺪِ ﻗ ۟ ﺎﻟ ُ َﻗ ﻚ َ َﻚ َﻻ ﻋِ ْﻠﻢَ ﻟَ َﻨ ٓﺎ ِإ ﱠﻻ ﻣَ ﺎ ﻋَ ﱠﻠﻤْ َﺘ َﻨ ٓﺎ ۖ ِإ ﱠﻧ َ ﺤﻨ َ ٰ ﻮا ُﺳ ْﺒ They said, “Glory be to You! Wehave no knowledge except what Youْ ِﻴﻢ ْ ﻧﺖ ُ ٱﻟ َﺤﻜ ُ ٱﻟﻌَ ﻠ َ َأ have taught us. It is you who are the ِﻴﻢ Knowledgeable, the Wise.”َ َﻗ ٣٣ 33 He said, “O Adam, tell them their ﺎل ٰ َٓﻳ َٔـﺎدَمُ َأ ۢﻧ ِﺒ ْﺌ ُﻬﻢ ِﺑﺄَ ْﺳﻤَ ٓﺎﺋ ِِﻬﻢْ ۖ َﻓ َﻠﻤﱠ ٓﺎ َأ ۢﻧ َﺒﺄَ ُﻫﻢ names.” And when he told them theirَ ﺎل َأ َﻟ ْﻢ َأ ُﻗﻞ ﱠﻟ ُﻜ ْﻢ ِإﻧﱢﻰ َأﻋْ َﻠ ُﻢ َ ِﺑﺄَ ْﺳﻤَ ٓﺎﺋ ِِﻬ ْﻢ َﻗ ﺐ َ ﻏ ْﻴ names, He said, “Did I not tell youََٓthat I know the secrets of theْ َ ت و ُ ون وَ ﻣَ ﺎ ُﻛ ِ ٱﻟﺴ ٰ َﻤ ٰ َﻮ ِ ْ ٱﻷر ﻨﺘ ْﻢ ﱠ َ ض وَ أﻋْ َﻠ ُﻢ ﻣَ ﺎ ُﺗ ْﺒ ُﺪ heavens and the earth, and that I ﻮن َ ُ َﺗ ْﻜ ُﺘﻤ know what you reveal and what youconceal?”َٓ۟ وَ ِإ ْذ ُﻗ ْﻠﻨَﺎ ﻟ ِْﻠﻤَ ٰ َﻠﺌ ٣٤ 34 And We said to the angels, “Bow ل َءا َدمَ َﻓ َﺴ َﺠ ُﺪ ٓو ۟ا ْ ِ ِﻜﺔ ِ ٱﺳ ُﺠ ُﺪوا down to Adam.” They bowed down,َٰ ْ َﻜﺒ َﺮ وَ َﻛﺎن ﻣِ ﻦ ٓ ِإ ﱠ except for Satan. He refused, was ﻳﻦ ْ َ َﻰ و َ ﻻ ِإ ْﺑﻠ َ ٱﻟ َﻜﻔِ ِﺮ َ ََ ْ ٱﺳﺘ ٰ ِﻴﺲ أﺑ arrogant, and was one of thedisbelievers.َْ ﻚ َ ٱﺳ ُﻜ ْﻦ أ ﺠ ﱠﻨ َﺔ وَ ُﻛ َﻼ َ ٱﻟ َ ﻧﺖ وَ َزوْ ُﺟ ْ ُ وَ ُﻗ ْﻠﻨَﺎ ٰ َٓﻳـَٔﺎدَم ٣٥ 35 We said, “O Adam, inhabit theGarden, you and your spouse, and ﺚ ِﺷ ْﺌ ُﺘﻤَ ﺎ وَ َﻻ َﺗ ْﻘ َﺮﺑَﺎ ٰ َﻫﺬِ هِ ﱠ َ ﻣِ ْﻨ َﻬﺎ َر ُ ﻏ ًﺪا َﺣ ْﻴ ٱﻟﺸ َﺠﺮ ََة eat from it freely as you please, butَٰ ﱠ ُ ﻴﻦ َ ِ ﻓﺘَﻜﻮ َﻧﺎ ﻣِ َﻦ ٱﻟﻈﻠِﻤ do not approach this tree, lest youbecome wrongdoers.” َﻓﺄَ َز ﱠﻟ ُﻬﻤَ ﺎ ﱠ ٣٦ 36 But Satan caused them to slip َﺟ ُﻬﻤَ ﺎ ﻣِ ﻤﱠ ﺎ َﻛﺎ َﻧﺎ َ ٱﻟﺸ ْﻴ ٰ َﻄ ُﻦ ﻋَ ْﻨ َﻬﺎ َﻓﺄَ ْﺧﺮ from it, and caused them to depart۟ ﻓِ ﻴﻪِ ۖ وَ ُﻗ ْﻠﻨَﺎ ٱ ْﻫﺒ ُﻄ ُ ْ ﻮا ﺑَﻌ ْ ﺾ ﻋَ ُﺪوﱞ ۖ وَ َﻟ ُﻜﻢ ٍ ْ ﻀ ُﻜ ْﻢ ﻟِ َﺒﻌ ِthe state they were in. We said, “Goَ ْ ﻓِ ﻰ down, some of you enemies of oneََِٰ ْ ٱﻷر ﻴﻦ ٍ ِ ﻰ ﺣ ٰ ض ﻣُ ْﺴ َﺘﻘﺮﱞ وَ ﻣَ َﺘﻊٌ ِإﻟ another. And you will have residenceon earth, and enjoyment for a while.”٣٢32page 5

اﻟﺒﻘﺮة ۚ ِ َﺎب ﻋَ َﻠ ْﻴﻪ ٍ ﻰ َءادَمُ ﻣِ ﻦ رﱠ ﺑﱢﻪِ ۦ َﻛﻠ ٰ َِﻤ َ ﺖ َﻓﺘ ٓ ٰ َﻓﺘ ََﻠ ﱠﻘ 2The Heifer37 Then Adam received words fromhis Lord, so He relented towardsُ ِ اب ٱﻟﺮﱠ ﺣ ﻴﻢ ُ ِإ ﱠﻧ ُﻪۥ ُﻫﻮَ ٱﻟ ﱠﺘﻮﱠ him. He is the Relenting, theMerciful.َُُْْ۟ ﻗﻠﻨَﺎ ٱ ْﻫ ِﺒﻄﻮا ﻣِ ْﻨ َﻬﺎ َﺟﻤِ ﻴﻌً ﺎ ۖ ﻓ ِﺈﻣﱠ ﺎ ﻳَﺄﺗ َِﻴ ﱠﻨ ُﻜﻢ ٣٨ 38 We said, “Go down from it, all ofyou. Yet whenever guidance comesَ اى َﻓ َﻼ َﺧﻮْ ٌف ﻋَ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻬ ْﻢ َ ﱢﻣ ﱢﻨﻰ ُﻫ ًﺪى ﻓﻤَ ﻦ َﺗ ِﺒﻊَ ُﻫ َﺪ to you from Me, then whoeverْ وَ َﻻ ُﻫ ْﻢ ﻳ follows My guidance—they have ﻮن َ َﺤ َﺰ ُﻧ nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve.َٓ ٰ ُ ٓ ٰ ۟ َ َ ۟ َ ﱠ وَ ﱠ ٣٩ 39 But as for those who disbelieve ِﻚ َ ﻳﻦ ﻛﻔﺮُ وا وَ ﻛﺬﺑُﻮا ِﺑـَٔﺎ َﻳ ِﺘ َﻨﺎ أ ۟وﻟﺌ َ ِ ٱﻟﺬ and reject Our signs—these are theَ ِ ﺐ ٱﻟ ﱠﻨﺎ ِر ۖ ُﻫ ْﻢ ﻓ ْ َأ inmates of the Fire—wherein they ون ُ ﺻ ٰ َﺤ َ ﻴﻬﺎ ٰ َﺧ ِﻠ ُﺪ will remain forever.”۟ ُ ٱذ ُﻛﺮ وا ﻧِﻌْ ﻤَ ﺘِﻰ ﱠ ْ ﻳﻞ َ ٰ َﻳ َﺒﻨِﻰ ِإ ْﺳ ٰ َٓﺮ ِء ٤٠ 40 O Children of Israel! Rememberُ ْ ٱﻟﺘِﻰ َأ ْﻧﻌَ ﻤ ﺖ َٓٓMy blessings which I bestowed uponَُُُُٰ۟ َِ ىأ ﻰ ٓ ِ ﻋَ ﻠ ْﻴﻜ ْﻢ وَ أوْ ﻓﻮا ِﺑﻌَ ْﻬﺪ you, and fulfill your pledge to Me,َ وف ِﺑﻌَ ْﻬﺪِ ﻛ ْﻢ وَ ِإﻳﱠ َ and I will fulfill My pledge to you, and ﻮن ِ ﻓﭑرْ َﻫ ُﺒ fear Me.َ ﱢ ۟ وَ َءاﻣِ ُﻨ ٤١ 41 And believe in what I revealed,ُ ﻮا ِﺑﻤَ ٓﺎ أﻧ َﺰ ْﻟ ﺼ ﱢﺪ ًﻗﺎ ﻟﻤَ ﺎ ﻣَ ﻌَ ُﻜ ْﻢ وَ َﻻ َ ُ ﺖ ﻣ confirming what is with you; and do۟ ُ ل َﻛﺎﻓِ ﺮ ﺑﻪِ ۦ ۖ وَ َﻻ َﺗ ْﺸﺘَﺮ ُ َﺗ ُﻜ َ ﻮﻧ ٓﻮ ۟ا َأوﱠ وا ِﺑـَٔﺎ ٰ َﻳﺘِﻰ َﺛﻤَ ﻨًﺎ ِ ٍۭnot be the first to deny it; and do notexchange My revelations for a smallًََُٰ ﱠ ﻮن ِ ﻰ ﻓﭑﺗﻘ َ ﻗﻠِﻴﻼ وَ ِإﻳﱠ price; and be conscious of Me.۟ ُ ﻄﻞ وَ َﺗ ْﻜ ُﺘﻤ ْ ﻮا ْ ۟ ْ ﱠ َْ َ ٱﻟ َﺤ ﱠﻖ ِ ِ وَ ﻻ ﺗﻠ ِﺒ ُﺴﻮا ٱﻟ َﺤﻖ ِﺑﭑﻟ ٰ َﺒ ٤٢ 42 And do not mix truth withfalsehood, and do not conceal theُ وَ َأ truth while you know. ﻮن َ ُ ﻧﺘ ْﻢ َﺗﻌْ ﻠَﻤ ۟ ُ ٱﻟﺰ َﻛ ٰﻮ َة وَ ٱرْ َﻛﻌ ۟ اﺗ ۟ ُ وَ َأﻗِ ﻴﻤ ٤٣ 43 And attend to your prayers, andُ ٱﻟﺼﻠَ ٰﻮ َة وَ َء ﻮا ﱠ ﻮا ﱠ ﻮا practice regular charity, and kneelٰ َ ﻣَ ﻊ ﻴﻦ َ ِ ٱﻟﺮﱠ ﻛِﻌ with those who kneel.ْ َْ ﺎس ِﺑ ُ ﻨﺴﻮْ َن َأ ﻧﻔ َﺴ ُﻜ ْﻢ َ ﭑﻟ ِﺒ ﱢﺮ وَ َﺗ َ ون ٱﻟ ﱠﻨ َ ُ أ َﺗﺄﻣُ ﺮ ٤٤ 44 Do you command people tovirtuous conduct, and forgetَْ ﻮن ُ وَ َأ yourselves, even though you read ﻮن َ ٱﻟ ِﻜ ٰ َﺘ َ ﺐ ۚ أ َﻓ َﻼ َﺗﻌْ ﻘِ ُﻠ َ ﻧﺘ ْﻢ َﺗ ْﺘ ُﻠ the Scripture? Do you notunderstand?۟ ٱﺳﺘَﻌِ ﻴ ُﻨ ﭑﻟﺼ ْﺒ ِﺮ وَ ﱠ ﻮا ِﺑ ﱠ ٱﻟﺼﻠَ ٰﻮةِ ۚ وَ ِإ ﱠﻧ َﻬﺎ ﻟَ َﻜ ِﺒﻴﺮ ٌَة ْ َ و ٤٥ 45 And seek help through patienceand prayer. But it is difficult, exceptْ إ ﱠﻻ ﻋَ َﻠﻰ ﻴﻦ َ ِ ٱﻟ ٰ َﺨ ِﺸﻌ ِ for the devout.۟ ﻮن َأ ﱠﻧ ُﻬﻢ ﻣﱡ ٰ َﻠ ُﻘ ﱠ ٤٦ 46 Those who know that they willُ ﻳﻦ ﻳ ِ ﻮا َر ﱢﺑ ِﻬ ْﻢ وَ َأ ﱠﻧ ُﻬﻢْ ِإ َﻟ ْﻴﻪ َ َﻈ ﱡﻨ َ ِ ٱﻟﺬ meet their Lord, and that to Him they ﻮن َ ُ ٰ َر ِﺟﻌ will return.٣٧page 6
