IntroductionThe purpose of the Austin History Center is to provide customers with information about the history and currentevents of Austin and Travis County by collecting, organizing, and preserving research materials and assisting in theiruse.The collections of the Austin History Center contain valuable research materials relating to photography andphotographers dating back to the mid-19th century. The various collections also include hundreds ofthousands of photographs that document numerous events, people, and subjects related to Austin, TravisCounty, and Central Texas.
