It is available from the P2000 Engineering Support site(see Download Sites on page 4). To obtain this download you may alsocontact Technical Support.1

P2000 Version 3.14Software Release Notes24-10832-178 Rev. –Item SynchronizationAfter deploying a P2000 V3.14 System (Core and Web API) and afterapplying the latest P2000 V3.14 Hotfix, run Item Synchronization. Thisutility synchronizes data stored and consumed by the Web UI with P2000configuration data, including associated status and alarms.Refer to the P2000 Software User Manual for complete ItemSynchronization instructions.Anti-Virus Software CompatibilityTemporarily disable any anti-virus software prior to the P2000installation. In addition, when installed on the P2000 server orworkstation, third-party anti-virus applications (such as Symantec software) may detect and automatically quarantine the P2000 software. Inorder to avoid it, exclude the Johnson Controls installed directories(typically located in \Program Files (x86)\Johnson Controls) from thevirus and spyware scans. Refer to the anti-virus software manufacturer'sdocumentation for specific instructions.P2000 Express System Upgrade to a Full VersionIf you have an existing P2000 SMS Express V3.11 or higher and want toupgrade to P2000 SMS V3.14, you must first register your existingsystem with a full-version registration key for the existing version, andthen follow the usual upgrade process.Your P2000 V3.14 system must use a currently supported platform.P2000 Express System Upgrade to an Express VersionIf you have an existing P2000 SMS Express V3.11 or earlier and want toupgrade to P2000 Express SMS V3.14, you must follow this sequence:1. Obtain a new Installation Key and an associated Registration Key forP2000 Express SMS V3.13 from Technical Support.2. Upgrade the existing system to P2000 SMS Express V3.13.3. Register the P2000 Express SMS V3.13 with the new Installation Keyand the associated Registration Key.4. From P2000 Express SMS V3.13 to P2000 Express SMS V3.14follow the usual upgrade process.2

P2000 Version 3.14Software Release Notes24-10832-178 Rev. –Upgrade of a P2000 System with Change Tracking (FDA)Before upgrading a P2000 system with Change Tracking, run theValidate Digital Signature task from the P2000 Database Maintenanceapplication. Then, proceed to upgrade to Version 3.14. After upgrading,run the Calculate Digital Signature task from the P2000 DatabaseMaintenance application.P2000 and DVN Software InstallationWhen you install the P2000 and DVN 5000 software on the samemachine, install SiteManager first. If you install the P2000 software first,and add SiteManager afterwards, re-install the P2000 software to ensureproper operation.Using P2000 Custom Report Writing (Crystal Reports )If you plan to create custom reports in addition to the many standardreports available, install Crystal Reports version 9.0 or higher. Thissoftware is not supplied by Johnson Controls. Install the Crystal Reportssoftware after all other software has been installed, preferably on aP2000 Workstation and not on the P2000 Server. Follow themanufacturer’s instructions; you do not need to set any specific settingsfor use with P2000.NOTE: The Crystal Reports software requires the ActiveX software to run.Operating systems as well as anti-virus applications may, by default, block theActiveX controls from running. In order to use Crystal Reports in generating theP2000 Standard Reports, configure the operating system and the anti-virusapplications to allow the ActiveX controls to run.Database BackupWe recommend that you back up the P2000 databases not only prior tothe P2000 software upgrade (on the “old” system), but also immediatelyafter a successful P2000 software upgrade (on the upgraded system).Registration of the P2000 Software and OptionsAll P2000 systems require a Registration Key. For upgrades, you need toenter the Registration Key during the upgrade procedure, so make sure toobtain it beforehand. If your P2000 system includes options, you alsoneed Option Keys.3

The APIspublished by Johnson Controls are product features that are tested andvalidated; customer issues related to their use can be resolved through Hotfixesand Service Packs by raising cases through the appropriate support channels.Full technical support is available for support tickets associated with P2000system APIs published by Johnson Controls.IMPORTANT: Direct database manipulation may void all warranties, and mayrender the P2000 SMS unsupportable.SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONThis section lists supported Microsoft Windows operating system and SQLServer combinations for both standard and small P2000 systems. Only 64-bitsystems are supported. You should only use Windows operating system andSQL Server standard edition or higher.The P2000 Security Management System (SMS) operates in a client-serverarchitecture. You must install the P2000 software on the system server prior toinstalling it on the system workstation.We recommend that you use a dedicated server for the P2000 SMS; that is,install only the Windows operating system, the SQL Server database engine,and the P2000 software. To install and run other third-party applications,contact a Johnson Controls Technical Support specialist for assistance. See alsoAnti-Virus Software Compatibility on page 2.6
