FLOOR STANDINGENCLOSURESFloor standing enclosures are used when astrong design is required, and the installationis floor based or located on top of a framestructure. Typical applications span from a single,stand‑alone enclosure integrated in a machine,to complex set-ups with several meters ofcombinable panels. Floor standing enclosures arealso used in industrial network installations and forpower distribution switchgear.The range is available in various materials and inthree different construction types, adaptable to anyaccessibility requirements.The constructions available are all designed aroundthe same platform and can be tailored to customerneeds, by using a cULus Listed set of standardaccessories.The floor standing enclosures offer maximumprotection to the user and to the equipmentinside, thanks to the high protection degreeIP 55 / IP 56 / IP 66 - IK 10 according toEN 60529 & EN 62208. WALL MOUNTEDENCLOSURESEldon provides an extensive range of wall mountedenclosures in mild steel and stainless steel(304L and 316L types) that meet all environmentalrequirements. Mild steel enclosures are pre-treatedwith iron phosphate, demineralized and protectedwith epoxy‑polyester powder paint RAL 7035 withstructured finish. Stainless steel enclosures have a240s pre-grained finish (average 0.5 microns).The sturdy cruciform body is folded from coldpressed sheet steel plate. The enclosure s edgeis folded in the shape of a channel to avoid waterstagnating on the seal.The enclosures are available in single door anddouble door designs in both materials. A mild steelpanel enclosure is also available. Single doorsare closed by a one, two, or three points lockingsystem and double doors are closed by meansof a three point espagnolette systems. The doorshave a seamless polyurethane gasket, and in 316Lstainless steel enclosures, doors have a siliconegasket. The door opens within the outer dimensionsof the enclosure body allowing enclosures to bemounted directly next to each other without thedoor interference.Enclosures can be secured to the wall by using:bolts, directly through the rear wall and protectedinside with plastic washers, or wall mountingbrackets at the rear screwed from the enclosure. Inboth cases the IP / TYPE ratings are guaranteed.Enclosures offer maximum protection to the user andequipment thanks to the high protection degreeIP 66 - IK 10 according to EN 60529 and EN 62208(IP 55 – IK 10 for enclosures with double door).Eldon's wall mounted steel range is certifiedaccording to the most relevant internationalstandards, such as UL 508A, CSA 22.2, GOST andKEMA-KEUR. TERMINALBOXESEldon's range of terminal boxes is available indifferent materials including painted mild steel,stainless steel (types 304L and 316L),painted aluminium, glass reinforced polyester,ABS, and polycarbonate. Each of these materialsoffers a different degree of corrosion resistance,specific mechanical behavior, and providesdistinct insulation.Terminal boxes are used to protect connectionelements and terminal blocks in the field.They are also used for other purposes, suchas hosting small control equipment in the fieldor inside a machine.The range of terminal boxes has been designedto comply with the relevant standard for emptyenclosures, IEC 62208. Maximum protection forthe user and the equipment is achieved thanks tothe high protection degree IP 66 according toIEC 60529, and IK 08 according to IEC 62262.There are three different designs availablewithin the ABS and polycarbonate terminalbox ranges, making it possible to meet mostcustomer requirements.Certification has been obtained for all ranges ofEldon's terminal boxes with GOST and EAC forRussia, and others which makes export easier,especially for machine builders. Mild steel andstainless steel terminal boxes have UL certificationfor the USA, and CSA for Canada.A wide selection of accessories is also available foreach range of terminal boxes. HUMANMACHINEINTERFACEThe range of HMI products comprises PCenclosures, compact and modular consoles, andswing arm systems with various housing solutions.The PC enclosure is based on the floor standingdesign and is suitable for office and factoryenvironments. The console range is availablein both mild steel and stainless steel, and theoperating housing range is available in mild steeland aluminium. Eldon’s HMI range of productscan be used in various applications, such ashosting control units, touch panels, and displaycomponents.The HMI range has been designed to comply withthe standard for empty enclosures, IEC 62208,with various degrees of protection, includingIP 44, 54, 55 and 66 according to IEC 60529,and IK 10 according to IEC 62262.The consoles are available in two different designs,compact and modular. THERMALMANAGEMENTThere are two main potential thermal problems inside theenclosure: Overheating; Humidity, or water condensation.Overheating can occur inside the enclosure, due to internal heatdissipation or external heat sources. The consequence may bereduced component lifetime and increased risk of breakdowns.Eldon offers a wide range of cooling solutions to avoid harmfuloverheating: Air conditioners, an efficient cooling solution which doesnot require the ambient air temperature to be lower thanthe desired temperature inside the enclosure. An additionaladvantage is that air conditioners will dehumidify the airinside the enclosure, preventing condensation; Vortex coolers, particularly suitable in applications wherethe working temperature is very high and where othercooling solutions are not possible due to limitations in theirmaximum working temperature; Heat exchangers, such as air-water types, are ideal whenhigh cooling capacity is needed and fresh water is available; Filter fans constitute a cost-effective, easy to assemblecooling solution. They can be used in all control panelswhere the ambient conditions don't cause a constraint.One of the greatest risks for an electrical enclosure is watercondensation and high humidity which may reduce the lifetimeof the electronic equipment. Water condensation will occur if thetemperature falls below the dew point.Eldon offers a wide range if heaters to increase the airtemperature inside enclosures: Small heaters, for small panels not requiring high heatingcapacity; Medium and big heaters, for large enclosures where theheat generated is not too high, but where there is a risk ofcondensation due to temperature variations during day andnight; Fan heaters, to ensure even heat distribution inlarge enclosures where there is not enough naturalair distribution.To increase energy efficiency, Eldon also offers various controlequipment to obtain an optimum balance between therequested temperature conditions and the energy used: Thermostats are available for temperature control. This isthe best solution for enclosures with cooling or heatingcomponents which lack their own temperature control; Hygrostats for relative humidity control.
