It’smore like a Walgreen’s in there, what with thepharmaceuticals, firsttems, snacks, health &beauty items, greeting cards and magazines.I, for one, have been saved more than onceby the “magic bag”. Notably, it’s too early totell if the three-banger will be naturallyaspirated, or if the Miata will go turbo for thefirst time in its decades-long history. What’scertain is that downsizing will reduce theMiata’s level of exhaust emissions.Mazda has plenty of time to develop cheapercarbon fiber. The fourth-generation Miatawent on sale last year, and its replacementisn’t scheduled to arrive until 2021 at the veryearliest. The company has a long history ofleveraging the benefits of economies of scale,so it’s safe to assume that even volumefocused models like the 3 and the 6 will relyon lightweight materials after the turn of thedecade.

New DisplayThe Miata RF features a unique 4.6 Inch color display next toits instrument cluster. The softtop offers up a black and whitedisplay that shows the temperature, fuel level, and tripcomputer, but the RF’s TFT display will also feature vehiclegraphics, such as when the roof is opening or closing. Thehardtop will also get exclusive Nappa leather, while thesofttop will only offer regular leather on its Grand Touringmodel.1. Trunk SpaceThe hard top’ design doesn’t take up any extra trunk spacecompared to the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, which offers 4.6cubic feet of trunk space. The Miata RF;s hard top folds intothe same space as the soft top, so consumers won’t need tosacrifice ant more space when considering the RF modelagainst the standard car,4, Driving PositionDrivers and passengers might find the Miata’s cabin moreaccommodating, as the RF does without a seat heightadjuster and has a tad more room for taller drivers. Removingthis feature saved a bit of weight on the Miata RF, which is 80– 100 pounds heavier than the softtop2. Hard Top DesignThe hard top’s design doesn’t disrupt the side profile or jutfrom the rear fender. During the design process, Mazdaplaced the shut lines of the retractable top above the creaseline. Thanks to a combination of engineering and design, theMiata RF achieves that coupe-like appearance withoutdramatically affecting the overall look of the car.5 .Fastest retractable HardtopThe Miata RF has the fastest retractable hardtop in theindustry. In just 12.5 seconds, the new RF’s top goes fromfully closed to fully opened, and can do this at speeds up yo 6mph. The hardtop utilizes the same motor found in the thirdgen model’s hardtop, but has been tweaked to offer fasteropening and closin times.

This is a picnic with the NorthcoastMiata Club at Mohican State Park.Our goal is to get as many Miata's from thetwo clubs in the parking lot as possible soplease drive your Miata if you can. Lastyear we had 23 Miata's from the BMC andthe Northcoast club had about 30. We needto beat them this year!!We will no doubt meet and leave somewhereon route 3 near Westerville between 10:00and 11:00 AM. I will provide more detail on thestarting point, time and route in the next fewweeks after we make a test run to check forroad construction, etc.The clubs are providing hamburgers and hotdogs with all the accessories and sides.Please bring your beverage of choice. Don’tforget we are at a state park so no alcohol. Ifyou want something different to eat pleasebring it along and we can throw it on the grill.We have a large pavilion so this is rain orshine event. If you have any picnic games youlike to play, and you can fit them in your Miataplease bring them along.
