A Note from The Executive DirectorFriends of Boys Hope Girls Hope,One of the highlights of my job is witnessing the growth of each of our scholars throughouttheir time with Boys Hope Girls Hope. They truly become men and women with and forothers by the time they graduate high school. While they attend the same classes, have thesame friends and social circles, each one grows in their own unique way and leaves highschool having a strong sense of self. Every opportunity that Boys Hope Girls Hope offersthem makes them more confident in themselves and more confident in their futures.Just as our scholars grow and develop, so too does our organization. In 2016, the Academyprogram had the first class of graduates from Aurora Central High School. The 9 graduatingscholars were awarded over 430,000 inscholarships and were accepted to 31colleges and universities! It is our goal thatevery class going forward will match orexceed that number. And of course, morehigh school graduates means morecollegians! With these 9 new graduates,we have doubled the number of collegiansin the 2016-2017 school year.Along with these incredible results, comesthe need for us to look forward and see how Boys Hope Girls Hope must adapt and growwith our scholars as they become collegians. Next year, on top of raising money to fulfill allof the college scholarships, we hope to add a collegian counselor to the BHGH staff. Whilecollege acceptance is a critical part of our mission, our ultimate goal is to have all of ourscholars thrive in college, graduate with ease and positioned to enter the working worldwith confidence.Of course, Boys Hope Girls Hope could not provide the amazing wrap around services forall our scholars without your help. We would not have the ability to serve more studentsand families without the generous support of you - our partners, donors and volunteers.Thank you! We look forward to a bright future!Sincerely,Mary Frances Tharp, Executive Director
