Overview of College Credit Plus(CCP) CCP is an opportunity for qualified students ingrades 7-12 to take college classes beforegraduation. CCP Covers all dual credit programs including: on campus, at the high school and on-line All public colleges must participate, private collegescan choose to participate.

Benefits of CCP Explore post-secondary interests Opportunity to enroll in classes not available athigh school Exposure to college faculty/ college expectations College credit may transfer easily (especiallybetween public institutions within Ohio) Earn an industry credential (or be well on your wayto earning one)

Options in your high school You can participate in CCP without leaving yourhigh school. 5 CCP Courses will be offered in your high schoolnext school year including:Business Technologies Department Computer Concepts andApplications (CSCI 1101)Science Department Medical Terminology (MULT 1010) Introduction to Healthcare (MLT 1100) Fundamentals of Business &Administrative Services (BMGT1101) Marketing Principles (MKTG 1230)

Options on a College Campus Students can choose any course that appliestoward a degree or workforce certification at apublic (or participating private) college. Enrollment in courses is not guaranteed.

College-readiness determined by college.No minimum GPA required.

Maximum Credit HoursCCP limits students to 30 credit hours MAXper academic yearFormula to determine eligible college hours: Take student’s # of high school only Carnegieunits and multiply by 3. Subtract that answer from 30. This will give you the number of hours forwhich student may earn in that academic year.

What about Summer Term? CCP applies only during the academic year Enrolling in summer coursework Self-pay Eligible for college credit only

Cost There is no additional cost to you to participate inCCP courses offered at a public college/university. There may be additional fees to participate in CCPcourses offered by a private institution. Textbooks are included. student may be required to return at the end of theterm Optional fees not covered under CCP including: Transportation, parking, gym membership

Credit Successful completion of the course results in earnedcredit on both your high school AND collegetranscript. Your CCP course grade will be reflected on bothtranscripts. CCP courses carry 1.25 weighted credit 3 semester hours or more 1 high school credit

Points to consider Is this a right fit for me based on my strengths andgoals? College courses may take more time and you’re buildingcollege transcript. Courses may transfer differently to other institutions. Check out transferology.com to explore the portability ofcredits. College courses follow the institution’s guidelines(dates in session, withdraw procedures). There is a financial obligation to reimburse thedistrict if you fail or do not complete a course.

Admissions Process Complete the State “Intent to Participate”form by April 1, 2015 Complete the Otterbein online application atOtterbein.edu/apply by May 15, 2015 Submit official high school transcript, ACT orSAT score, letter of recommendation

Admissions Criteria College Credit Plus students are evaluatedwith the same holistic review process as newFreshmen High school performance (G.P.A., class rank,course selection and rigor, grade trends) ACT or SAT scores Activities (leadership, work, communityservice, athletics)

Typical Admit High school G.P.A. 3.0 in core curriculum(English, Math, Sciences, Social Sciences,Foreign Languages) and, ACT 21 or SAT (CR & M) 990, however, Grade trend (up or down) is very important, asis increasing academic rigor

Scheduling Otterbein courses taught at the high schoolwill be scheduled through the high school.There will be a mandatory orientation/advising session in August. Course taught on our campus will bescheduled at an on campus Orientation inAugust.

What Does it Cost? Students pay 20/credit hour ‐ 80 per course. The District covers the cost of text books. Students driving to campus will purchase aparking permit.

What if I want to take courses inthe summer? College Credit Plus isn’t available for summer. Students may enroll in the OtterbeinCollegiate Institute and earn college creditonly. The cost is 100/credit hour, or 400 percourse and the student must buy or rent thetextbooks.

What if I only want college credit,but not dual enrollment? Students may choose to enroll in theOtterbein Collegiate Institute and earn collegecredit only. The cost is 100/credit hour or 400 per course and the student mustpurchase their own text books, however thecredit (and gpa) are not reflected on yourHigh School transcript.
