Annual Meeting HighlightsEntertainment, Elections and Prize Giveaways!Red River Credit Union held its 2018Annual Meeting on Saturday, April21st, at the Pleasant Grove PerformingArts Center in Texarkana, Texas.RRCU members and employeeswere treated to a wonderful musicalperformance by Branson’s own ShojiTabuchi Show.Members who attended the annualmeeting entered their name in adrawing for chances to win 3,100worth of prizes. Cash prizes rangedfrom 25 to 100 and four 500 sixmonth share certificates were givenaway. We alsoprovide financial literacy inthe classrooms throughoutthe school year. Thisprogram has a great impacton students who are eagerto learn and gain knowledgeabout finances, credit, andbudgeting early on. Alongwith this program weprovide a 1500 scholarshipto one senior, from eachhigh school, each year.To the right are the 2018scholarship recipientschosen by our scholarshipcommittee. Tips for Protecting YourselfAgainst Credit Card FraudSafety tips to help you keep all your credit cards safer:Keep a list of all your credit cards in a safe place,including the account number and phone number to theissuing company in case the card is lost or stolen.Always sign a new credit card immediately.DO NOT write the PIN for the account on the card.When making a purchase with a credit card, make sureyou get the card back and the receipt. Check the receiptfor accuracy before leaving.When using a credit card at a restaurant or store, makesure that all blank lines are marked through so that noone can change the final amount.NEVER sign blank credit card receipts.Review your credit card statement as soon as possible.Match charges with your receipts to ensure all chargesare yours and are for the correct amount.Only travel with the credit cards you plan on using.Never give the account number of the credit card overthe phone unless you initiate the call.When making an order over the telephone, try to avoidusing a cordless phone.
