Apply online at studentaidbc.ca.The Canada Apprentice Loan is an initiative ofthe Government of Canada to help you completeyour apprenticeship in a designated Red Sealtrade. Students, you can apply for up to 4,000in interest-free loans per period of technicaltraining. The money will be available to you tohelp pay for tuition, tools, equipment andliving expenses.Students must be enrolled in an eligibleprogram. Your loan will be interest-free for up tosix years as long as you are confirmedas being registered in a Red Seal tradeapprenticeship program. APPRENTICESHIP GRANTSAPPRENTICESHIP COMPLETION GRANTThe Government of Canada provides up to 4,000 in federal apprenticeship grants tohelp apprentices in a Red Seal trade progressin or complete apprenticeship training.The Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG)is a taxable cash grant of 2,000 for registeredapprentices who complete their apprenticeshiptraining and obtain their journeypersoncertification.APPRENTICESHIP INCENTIVE GRANTTo be eligible for the ACG, you must:The Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG) is ataxable cash grant of 1,000 per year or per level,up to a maximum amount of 2,000 per person. Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, orprotected person;To be eligible for the AIG, you must: Have the required ACG supporting documents; Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident,or Protected Person; Show that you have completed anapprenticeship program as a registeredapprentice in a designated Red Seal trade; and Not be a high school student; Have the required AIG supporting documents; Be registered with your provincial/territorialapprenticeship authority as an apprentice in adesignated Red Seal trade; and Provide proof that you have successfullycompleted either the first and/or second yearor level (or equivalent) in a designated RedSeal trade. KPU TRADES AND TECHNOLOGYAWARDSHOMEOWNER PROTECTIONOFFICE BURSARYTrades and Technology students may beconsidered for awards, based on facultyrecommendations each Fall. Recipients arerecognized at an Awards Ceremony held eachSpring at KPU Tech.The Homeowner Protection Office also supportsa bursary program. The program is geared tothose students enrolled in the above mentionedprograms who are either Aboriginal and/or thosewith low income.HOMEOWNER PROTECTION OFFICEENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPKPU BURSARYThe Homeowner Protection Office, a branch ofBC Housing, is pleased to offer two scholarships,of 1,000.00 each, to students enrolled in aFaculty of Trades & Technology program at KPU.Students must be enrolled in a Building Tradesprogram which includes: Carpentry Construction Construction Electrician Masonry Plumbing Low Voltage Building Envelope TechnologiesStudents must demonstrate commitment to his/her course work, show good progress in thecourse, and have a final CGPA of 2.67 or greater.Preference will be given to Aboriginal studentsand/or those with low income. The successfulstudent recipients will be determined byrepresentatives from KPU.The KPU Bursary Program was established toassist current KPU students who show financialneed. The KPU Bursary is open to KPU studentseach semester.
