Preference (additional points towards admission) is awarded to those with prior bachelor’s degrees and/or those who complete atleast half of the prerequisite coursework (16 hours) at TWU.No letters of recommendation, prior work experience, personal essays, or interviews are considered in admissions.How to ApplyCollege of Nursing deadlines: February 1st for fall admission (traditional and weekend/evening) and August 15th for spring admission(traditional program only). Deadlines are strict.1. Apply to TWU through www.ApplyTexas.org, as an undergraduate transfer student, selecting “Nursing Entry BS” as your desiredmajor. It is best that this be done at least 6 weeks before the College of Nursing deadline, so that you will be admitted in time tocomplete the application for upper-division nursing. Send official transcripts from all previous institutions to the TWU Office ofAdmissions Processing, PO Box 425649, Denton, TX 76204 and NursingCAS. All college coursework must be entered intoNursingCAS.2. After you are admitted to the university, complete the application to upper-division nursing through www.NursingCAS.org. You willneed to create an account in NursingCAS, select the TWU BSN (Pre-Licensure) program, complete all questions, submit necessarydocuments, and submit with the 50 application fee.3. Take the TEAS and upload to the NursingCAS application. Exam must be taken prior to the application deadline, and can be takenat any location supported by ATI, including PSI locations. TWU (Denton campus) also offers the TEAS exam.4. Make sure TWU and NursingCAS receives updated transcripts with grades for most recent courses (if applicable) by the deadline.Need to Know TWU no longer offers an ACCELERATED program. The traditional format and the Weekend/Evening program are both two yearslong (not including prerequisites).Upper-division nursing courses are only offered at the Dallas and Houston centers only. The Weekend/Evening program is availableonly in Dallas starting in fall semesters. Applicants not accepted into the Weekend/Evening program will be automaticallyconsidered for admission to the traditional program in Dallas.Coursework from previous degrees will not be posted to your TWU transcript. Psychology statistics or other non-MATH statistics may be substituted for Math 1703, if student has a completed TX state core curriculum from another institution or meets the requirements for corecompletion at TWU.3. Prior to 2013, many community colleges offered GOVT 2301 & 2302. instead of 2305 & 2306 GOVT 2301 & 2302 are acceptable, if brought in as a set. Alternately, GOVT 2301 alone can becombined with either 2305 or 2306. Those who are only transferring in GOVT 2302, however, will need to take both governments at TWU in order to fulfill state requirements.
