-I-RELEASE OF INFORMATION POLICYThis is to inform students that Hampton University intends to complyfully with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, asamended. This Act was designated to protect the privacy of educationrecords, to establish the rights of students to inspect and review theireducation records, and to provide guidelines for the corrections of inaccurateor misleading information and complaints with the Family Educational Rightsand Privacy Act Office (FERPA) concerning alleged failures by theinstitution to comply with the Act. Local policy explains in detail theprocedures to be used by the institution for compliance with the provisions ofthe Act. The policy can be read in the Office of the University Registrar.This office also maintains a directory of record which lists all educationrecords maintained on students by this institution.Hampton University designates the following information as public ordirectory information. Such information may be disclosed by the institutionat its discretion.name, address, telephone number, dates of attendance, previousinstitution(s) attended, major field of study, awards, honors,(including Dean's list), degree(s) conferred (including dates), pastand present participation in officially recognized sports andactivities, physical factors (height, weight of athletes), date andplace of birth.Currently enrolled students may withhold disclosure of any category ofinformation under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, asamended. To withhold disclosure, written notification must be received in theOffice of the Registrar, First Floor, Whipple Barn no later than 10 days afterclasses have started. Forms requesting the withholding of "DirectoryInformation" are available in the Registrar's Office.Hampton University assumes that failure on the part of any student tospecifically request the withholding of categories of "Directory Information"indicates individual approval for disclosure.

- III -SPECIAL NOTICENEWS BRIEFSTUDENT HEALTH SERVICESA physical examination, completed in its’ entirety, must have been submitted on aHampton University medical form. Proof of immunization against the specificdiseases listed on the immunization section of the form is mandatory. Thisimmunization requirement is based upon recommendations from the AmericanCollege Health Association and the Center for Disease Control. Your complianceto these requirements will ensure that your pre-registration and/or registrationactivities will proceed without a “hold flag” from Student Health Services.

- IV NOTICEAll students are expected to pre-register. There is a 100.00 fee for not pre-registering.All Continuing Students are expected to arrive and check-in on Thursday or Friday,January 10 or 11, 2013 according to the below schedule.Pre-registration schedules will be dropped for all students who fail to return by 4:00 p.m.,January 11, 2013.Late registration will end on January 15, 2013. There is a 400.00 late fee that must bepaid at the time of registration. If your courses are dropped, you will pay an additional 100.00. You will be considered as a student who did not pre-register. Please be preparedto pay these fees. - XI - Type your STUDENT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER in the boxlabeled “USER ID”. Type your PERSONAL PIN code in the bottom box labeled“PIN”.

- XVII - You are now ready to type in the 5-digit CRN number of each courseyou want into the empty blocks if you have them. If you do not know the CRN numbers, click on class search to locateyour desired courses by subject.ATTENTION!!:WHEN REGISTERING FOR COURSES WITH ATTACHED LABS,SUCH AS BIO 103, YOU MUST SUBMIT THE LAB PORTIONAND LECTURE PORTION AT THE SAME TIME TO PREVENTGETTING A LINK ERROR.

- XVIII - In the subject box, scroll to find the subject title of the course youwish to add to your schedule. Click once on that subject tohighlight it, then click on “CLASS SEARCH” at the bottom leftcorner of the screen.

- XX - Click in the open block to the left of the desired course, scroll to thebottom of the screen and click REGISTER. (If there is no open boxor there’s a “C”, then the class is closed. Repeat this procedure for each class. When you have completed your schedule, it is strongly recommendedthat you print a copy for your records.TO PRINT SCHEDULE CLICK ON THE STUDENT AND FINANCIAL TAB Click on Registration Click on Student Detailed Schedule and click on the print icon.

In addition to the regular hours of 8:00 a.m. to5:00 p.m., the Graduate College office will remain open on Wednesdays during the early registrationperiod until 6:00 p.m. to assist students.All students are expected to pre-register. There is a 100.00 fee for not pre-registering. The preregistration systems will be available Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.All students are expected to arrive and check-in on their scheduled day at their scheduled times (Refer tothe schedule on the previous page). Late registration will begin immediately following your scheduledtime. You will not be allowed to register once you miss your scheduled time.
