Growing Up Quilt2. Section A: Join 5 Fabric I squares and 4 Fabric N shortsashes to make a vertical row. Sew a Fabric L rectangle tothe bottom. Sew a Fabric M and a Fabric G strip to the leftside of the pieced row. Make the bottom pieced unit byjoining patches and strips as shown. Sew the Caterpillarpanel between the 2 pieced units.3. Section B: Arrange pieces as shown for Section B in thediagram. Join parts to make the top half. Make the bottomhalf. Sew the Butterfly panel between the 2 halves.4. Section C: Arrange patches and strips to make units asshown in the diagram. Sew units together to make the toppieced unit and the bottom pieced unit. Sew the Leafpanel between the 2 pieced units.5. Sew the 3 sections together with Fabric M652" sashes between the sections as shown.6. Sew Fabric J and Fabric K borders to thequilt, sides on first. Sew Fabric B borders tothe quilt.Finishing the Quilt7. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing andbaste. Quilt in the ditch around all patches.Quilt around the butterfly, caterpillar, andleaf, and around the printed motifs in theouter border. Sew binding strips together endto end.
