Substantiation: Figure 16.2.6 incorrectly references Section 16.2.5, which is not relevant to thefigure. Figure 16.2.6 should correctly reference Section 16.2.6.Figure 16.4.1.(c) is missing references to Table 16.5.2.16, which includes new protection criteriafor water-miscible liquids at a concentration of up to 100% stored in racks, and Table 16.5.2.7,which includes protection criteria applicable to water-miscible ignitible liquids. The note on unitconversions is not needed, because the figure does not include any values in gallons or liters.Table 16.5.2.16 is missing the maximum ceiling height of 30 ft for 25 ft of storage. A 30 ftmaximum storage height is per the supporting test data submitted when the design criteria wasadded. For the supporting test data see: on 16.5.2.7(3) indicates that it only applies to water miscible ignitible liquids atconcentrations greater than 50% concentration. This has been modified to remove the limitation, because protection criteria for ignitible liquids at greater than 50% concentration can also protectignitible liquids at lower concentrations.Table 16.5.2.7 is missing the less than or equal to symbol for 16 oz containers. The protectioncriteria is not limited to containers that are exactly 16 oz, it is limited to containers that are 16 ozor smaller. In addition, the reference for sprinkler protection of containers up to 60 gal. toSection 16.6.3 should instead reference Section 16.6.2. Section 16.6.3 only requires in-racksprinklers at every other level, while protection of containers up to 60 gal. should be with in-racksprinklers at every level in accordance with 16.6.2. Finally, metric units have been incorporatedinto the table and the incomplete (missing oz) unit conversations in the note have been deleted.Tables 16.5.2.17 and 16.5.2.18 indicate that the protection criteria is limited to containers that areless than 59 oz (1.75 L). The test data submitted in support of the protection criteria used 59 oz(1.75 L) containers; thus, the protection criteria should correctly apply to containers that are lessthan or equal to 59 oz (1.75 L). For the supporting test data /standards-and-certification/code-supportreports In addition, the header to the first column of Table 16.5.2.18 identifies the data in thecolumn as “Container Size/Type”, but no information on container type is provided. Thus,“Type” is incorrectly indicated in the header and should be removed.Figure 16.6.4.1(b) is incorrectly labeled as a Single-Row rack when it depicts a Double-Rowrack.Section 16.6.5 incorrectly references Figures 16.6.4.1(a) and 16.6.4.1(b), and omits the relevantfigures needed for the design criteria. This TIA corrects each of the issues identified above.Emergency Nature: The standard contains an error or an omission that was overlooked duringthe regular revision process.NFPA 30 currently includes errors and omissions of relevant information needed for properapplication of several of the design schemes.
