He was a man of strong integrity and character; a man who washighly respected in the community.Unfortunately his church-going experience became less and less desirableover time. The reason his worshipexperience was tainted had everythingto do with the questions peopleseemed to pose every week about hiswork. For instance, if you have a leadership orcongregational concern to share with ourModerator, MJ Smith, addressing the issue with her right before a worship service is not the appropriate time. Page 2It is so hard to believe we are approaching the end of anotherschool year already! The ending of this school year is bittersweet – we havehad an amazing year of watching the children grow and learn so much butwe are also preparing ourselves to say goodbye to 2 very dear employees, whom will be greatly missed. God has been so good to our school and wehave no doubt that He will guide the right Teacher and Aide to us. Continueto be in prayer for our staff, the children that will be off to kindergarten, the children that will be in our classes next year and our board members. The T/Th classes recently went on a field trip to Zoo America in Hershey. We were a little concerned about the weather – the trip was postponed one time due to weather. But God blessed us with a beautiful day! It started out a little chillybut that did not last long. We started our trip with a presentation given by one of the zoo employees, who was amazing. She gave the children lots of information and was holding their attention as well(which can be a challenge when it comes to such a big group of preschoolers). She showed us a hissingcockroach, a snake, an owl and a skunk. She told us about what each animal family they belonged toand why. We then saw a baby crocodile and the kids had to name the family he belonged to. After thepresentation we were on our own to explore the zoo. It was not crowded and because the day was nottoo cold (or rainy) or too hot, all the animals were out and moving around. Everyone had a great time!We deiced to have our picnic lunch indoors due to the fact that it was a little cool and breezy inthe morning. So off to Chocolate World we went. We got to eat our lunches at their tables – it wasvery nice. After lunch we just had to ride the ride, of course! We got to ride it 2 times! Some of us thendecided to go to Cocoa Castle Playground for a little while after we left Chocolate World. It was a fun day! The staff and adults loved seeing the sea of lime green Tiny Timbers shirtsfloating around the zoo. And boy, was it so much easier to spot who was in our group. The next couple of weeks will be busy. The M/W/F classes have some field trips coming up thatsound like a lot of fun. Of course, we are busy planning Tiny Timbers Sunday – which we hope you canattend. It has truly been an amazing year of growth for not only the children but staff as well. We lookforward to the rest of this year, our summer and then the beginning of yet another blessed year nextyear.Mindy SmithCo-Chairand mom of a T/Th studentShake it Up Café is the theme for VBS this year!!! Page 8Library NewsWe have a special newlibrary helper! Lauren hastaken in interest in helping her mom, Heather. She is doing a great jobreplacing the cards &placing books back on theshelves. Thank you, Lauren, Keep up the great work!Reader Review:I have helped at the library for several years. Duringthis time the boys & I have read many books &watched a lot of videos. Some of our favorites includeany Christmas book & Auto B Good videos. There isone member of our family who claims that he doesn'tlike to read (unless it’s Game News) and he doesn'tlike movies (unless Clint Eastwood is in it—wonderwhere we got Clint’s name?), however, Derek hassigned out his first book from the church library!! Hefound Hooked for Life, by Jimmy Houston and is enjoying reading the short sections with the boys. This bookrelates to Jesus through fishing, as the author is a probass fisherman, which is just what the boys in myhouse need (we frequently thank God for fish & fishing)!Derek also watched the movie, Letters to God, withme & stayed away the whole time & gave it a rating of“not bad”. I rate it as great! This movie will take youthrough the emotional journey of a family dealing withcancer & another battling addiction. It is serious, funny, & inspiring. It is must see TV!Bring the whole family into the library & see what youcan find. If Derek can find something, there just mightbe something for everyone!Enjoy,Jes GroffCAMPING NEWSThe early registration deadline is fast approaching! After May 20 the price increases for allcamps. Some are thereevery Saturday but sometimes we miss a Saturday because of other commitments. We enjoy sharing patterns on crocheting but most of all we enjoy the time ofsharing life and our love of God. Most Saturday mornings are spent stitching and sharing the events of themonth. The group is generally Linda Gerdel, Kelly Garber, ChrisLancaster (my niece), Allison Huber, Sherry Schneck(Allison’s friend), Stephanie Collman and myself. We are having fun learning new stitches as well asnew terms for medias that we have been crocheting with but never realized what they were called;like plarn – this term is for plastic grocery bags cut into strips to crochet mats for homeless people ordifferent types of bags (shopping or totes). So if you don’t know what to do with those shopping bagsfrom different stores contact me. We especially look for different colors because we seem to havelots of white but if we are working on bags to put a little color in we are short on those. We are always willing to work with anyone that would like to join the group. Just mark your calendarfor the second Saturday of the month from 8:30 am – 10:30 am, if you can make the entire time greatif you only have part of the time available that is great too. Generally we are working on differentprojects. If we are having a problem with a particular stitch or problem with a step in a pattern weshare and help each other. We have crocheted dishcloths and prayer shawls that went to a mission’s trip to the ladies of Watsonton Methodist Church Lionel Town, Jamaica – West Indies 2011. The Jamaica Work Team from FirstUnited Methodist Church of Hershey go to Jamaica on a regular basis. These simple projects broughtgreat joy to the ladies in Jamaica.Sarah Clugston
