Assessment / Class LevelsAssessmentUpon submission of all the requirements, the application documents will then be evaluatedby the Head of Primary or Deputy Head of Senior School. Depending on their recommendation, the applicant may then be invited to attend an assessment. All children will beassessed for placement in their appropriate age group. IB Guidelines for AcceptanceIB GuidelinesWe will assess suitability for chosen courses at this stage based on mock exam results andpredicted grades. Once IGCSE results are available in August, final course decisions will bemade. IB GuidelinesGroup 4 - SciencesTo study Higher Level Biology, Physics orChemistry at BSM, students are required tohave gained an AA grade at IGCSE (particularlyfor those contemplating taking 2 Sciencesubjects). An A grade in Mathematics isrequired to pursue HL Physics.Group 5 – MathematicsTo study Higher Level Mathematics at BSM,students are required to have an A* grade atOption 2: IB Diploma CourseFor general acceptance onto the IB Diploma Course,students must achieve a minimum of 5 points at (I)GCSE, basedon the above scale and C grade or above in at least 3 subjects,including either Maths or English and a recommendation from their Year 11tutor or Head of Year (or previous schoolas appropriate)IGCSE (or an equivalent level of mathematicalachievement) for automatic entry onto thecourse, although students gaining an A gradeor equivalent may be granted conditionalentry. Notes1. Tuition Fees Tuition Fees are billed and paid termly. Thereare three (3) Terms in one school year. The School will accept payment of the GBPportion in USD or PHP based on theSchool exchange rates which include a markup to cover conversion costs. Updated Schoolexchange rates can be found here. The full Tuition Fee is required to be settled,irrespective of the length of time the childwill spend in School during any given Term.However, any child admitted after a Half Termbreak will be billed on a pro-rata basis for theremaining weeks of the Term.2. Entrance Fee A non-refundable Entrance Fee is charged to alllevels, except Nursery, in which case, it becomespayable upon the child’s entry into the Receptionlevel. Payment of the Entrance Fee, tuition and otherfees for the Term will guarantee your child a placeat the School.3. Application Fee A non-refundable Application Fee should be paid infull upon submission of Admission requirements.4. Year Book Year Book is charged yearly per family.5. Nursery Deposit This is equivalent to one-half (½) TermFee and billed upon acceptance of thechild. It is refundable when the child withdraws fromBSM. However, if the child will not proceedto Nursery, notification of non-attendanceshould be made to Admissions office onor before 31 May 2022. Notification after thesaid date will result in the Deposit not beingrefunded. If the child enters Reception in the succeeding School year, the refundable NurseryDeposit may be applied towards the first Termof attendance in Reception.6. Capital Development Fee (CDF)(Applicable to Reception to Year 13) CDF is paid and billed termly. CDF is non-refundable.7. Learning Support Fees (LSF) Stage 1 LSF is applicable to students withminimal Learning Support and coveredin the Tuition Fee. Stages 2, 3, 4 LSF will apply to those studentswho require incremental levels of learningsupport and are billed and paid termly.The overview of LSF is discussed separately here.8.
