Skills Development FundThe Skills Development Fund is Texas' premier job–trainingprogram providing training dollars for Texas businesses andworkers.For the next two fiscal years (September 1, 2011 – August 31,2013), TWC has 48 million in Skills Development Funds tosupport high quality, customized job training projects across thestate.
Skills Development FundThe Skills Development Fund grant for individual business may belimited to 500,000. Consortium may exceed 500,000.Project contracts typically last 12 months.Business and TSTC develop customized training program.Participants must be full-time employees.
Eligible ApplicantsSkills Development Fund business requirements: Be a private, for-profit business. Be liable to pay unemployment insurance. Meet Data Reporting Requirements. Sign a Memorandum of Understanding with TSTC. Meet or exceed prevailing wage.
SDF Cost CoverageSkills Development Fund covers the following cost: Tuition Curriculum Development Instructor Fees Training Materials Equipment
SDF Costs NOT CoveredSkills Development Fund does NOT cover the following cost: Trainee Wages Travel Cost Drug Testing
Customized TrainingThrough the Skills Development Fund, TSTC can provide: Tailored Curriculum On-site Training Flexible Schedules Certification Training
Application TimingTSTC and TWC will make every effort to submit your applicationin an expedient manner. Estimated process timing to complete theitems below is 3-4 weeks. TWC approval process varies from 3-6months.
