Welcome! Wildcat Discovery Camp, a brand-new youth camp at Chico State, is for kids 8-14 yearsold and is all about discovering and exploring. We offer an exciting opportunity to tailor your child’scamp experience around FUN learning and their camp schedule around your schedule.How are we different from other summer programs?Wildcat Discovery Camp allows you to pick from a schedule of awesome Monday–Thursday classes across five, oneand two-week sessions during the summer. Kids can discover and explore new topics for a few hours a day, half days,full days, or any combo that works for you. Classes are designed for fun and discovery, with no tests or grades.Before- and after-care are available to take the pressure off busy adults' schedules.Who will be teaching the classes?We are putting together an awesome team of people who love kids and have a passion for teaching and learning. Manyof our instructors will be from Chico State liberal studies credential and graduate programs and are preparing for acareer in education. In addition, our camp aides will be the friendly, familiar faces your kids will connect with every day.All camp staff will be vetted, pass background checks, and be fully qualified to work with minors. We are planning for a9:1 child-to-adult ratio during camp sessions, with a maximum of 18 campers per class.What COVID safety protocols will be in place?We are still working through what our, and the University's, COVID protocols and requirements will be during thesummer. The University follows Butte County Public Health Guidelines and is working diligently to keep all campusstudents, employees, and visitors healthy. We do not anticipate that vaccines will be required but will keep our websiteupdated with the most current information and policies as we get closer to summer.Are there discounts or financial assistance available?There are no sibling discounts or scholarships available for the 2022 camp season.Are special accommodations available for campers?We are happy to work with you on accommodations, from medications to accessibility to special needs. During theregistration process you will be able to provide information about your camper's needs and staff will follow up withyou to discuss and coordinate.
