Americas Sub Regional T20 World Cup Qualifier Coming to Morrisville-The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the 2018 ICC Americas Sub RegionalT20 World Cup Qualifier will be hosted in Morrisville inICC Qualifier Social Media GraphicSeptember. This tournament is in line with the ICC global strategy for international regionalPage 1
competition. Concluding the tournament results, the top 2 countries will progress to thenext round of World Cup Qualifiers. The participating countries for the tournament are thenational men’s team of Belize, Canada, Panama and the USA. The official venue for thetournament will be the cricket facilities at Church Street Park, located at 5800 Cricket PitchWay in Morrisville. The Morrisville Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department hasbeen working with the Triangle Cricket League for several months to secure this event forMorrisville.-Visit www.townofmorrisville.org/internationalcricket for more information! a. Meeting Timei. Action: Chairperson Ken Sherman made a motion to keep themeeting time at 6:30 pm. Member Nina Weiland seconded themotion, which passed unanimously.b. Program Follow-Upsi. Wake Tech Classes1. CFCCS Ryan Vinson said he was still finalizing the class dates,times, and descriptions with Wake Tech.ii. Dominoes Night1. It was asked last meeting by Member Joe LoFaro about whydominoes night isn’t free. CFCCS Ryan Vinson said hesupervisor was unexpectedly out of the office for an extendedperiod of time and was back this week and he would follow up.iii. Collette Travel Trips1. CFCCS Ryan Vinson said that Collette Travel will come and doinformational sessions about specific trips for once we mightoffer, but they do not do general informational sessions abouttheir trips in general. CFCCS Ryan Vinson said he wouldreach out to his contact and ask if there was any general tripinformation he can bring back to the next meeting.c. Historic Christian Church Updatei. No update8.New Businessa. Senior Citizen’s Day Proclamationi. CFCCS Ryan Vinson said that Mayor Cawley reached out to ask if theSAC would appreciate a Senior Citizen’s Day Proclamation. Themembers overwhelming agreed that it is a great idea and somethingthat could take place at a Town Council meeting. CFCCS RyanVinson said he would follow up with Mayor Cawley.b. Vice Chair Electioni. Member Clarence Scollon made a motion to nominate Member JoyceDaye as the new Vice Chair. Member Nina Weiland seconded themotion, which passed unanimously. Member Joyce Daye acceptedthe nomination.c. Senior Sundae Set-Up & Decorationsi. CFCCS Ryan Vinson said he would make a bigger deal of the SeniorSundae more than just coming in eating ice cream and then leaving.d. BBQ & Bingo Set-Up & Decorationsi. e. Donations and Memorialsi. CFCCS Ryan Vinson said he had been approached about some of theseniors doing some type of memorial or donation in a park to honorthe late Vice Chair, Pat Horton. CFCCS Ryan Vinson said he spokewith PRCRD Jerry Allen who tasked him with researching andcreating a Donations Policy. CFCCS Ryan Vinson has had an initialmeeting with PRCRD Jerry Allen and had some edits/revisions to doto the policy and he would keep the committee updated about whenit gets implemented. Several committee members expressed concernabout Pat Horton being honored, but not other committee membersand/or seniors that have passed.
