18.19.20.Be on time, prepared and ready to learn every day.Be seated and working on bell work before the tardy bell rings.Treat everyone in the building with dignity and respect.Food, drink, or gum should be put away before entering the classroom.No talking when the teacher is talking.Always ask permission before getting out of your seat.Present your handbook when leaving and entering the classroom for a teacher signature.No backpacks or food at the computers.Keep your hands and feet to yourself.Do not leave trash in the class.Do not adjust the lights or AC.Treat the computer with care.Have a positive attitude about learningStay in your assigned seat at the desk and at the computerNo students are allowed behind the teacher desk.Only get supplies from the book shelf not the teacher desk.Print only when directed by the teacher.Use the restroom before class begins or at the end of class.Only visit approved websites.Follow all rules according to the district handbook and your student handbook.Consequences:1.First Offense- WarningThe student will be given a verbal warning. It will be documented on a paper with the time anddate of the offense.2. Second Offense- Writing AssignmentThe writing assignment will be sent home for the parent to sign. The assignment must becompleted and presented to the teacher the next day with a parent signature.3. Third Offense-Parent conferenceParent and Teacher will meet to resolve offense.4. Fourth Offense-Principal OfficeThe student will be sent to the office for further disciplinary actions to be given by the principal.

KSpears4Course Policies and Procedures:Be Honest: Cheating will not be tolerated for any reason. A grade of “0” will be given on daily work or test ifcaught doing so.Posting of Grades:Grades are posted in our computer grade book program, Power School, in a timely and routine basis. Parents canview student grades, absences, and contact information online through this program. All parents are assigned alogin and password. If you do not know your login and/or password, please contact the school guidance office.Leaving Class:Students must always present the student handbook when exiting the classroom. Your handbook should be takenwith you as a hall pass. Upon return, present your handbook again for signing in. This includes being called to theoffice, the counselor, the restroom, or for any reason you leave class. Instructional time is highly important;students will not be allowed to leave the room unless it is an emergency. Students should use the restroom beforecoming to class.Absences and Missed Assignments:If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to make up your work. Please check the make-up folders in theclassroom for any makeup assignments or see the teacher for any missed assignments or test. It is school policythat you are given one day for each day missed to complete make-up work. New material each day will becovered in class. Therefore, it is necessary for you to make-up assignments as soon as possible. A zero will beentered in the grade book until make up work is completed.Computer Use:Students must be given permission to use a school computer. All students will be assigned to a computer to useduring class. Students should only use their assigned computer only. Students are not allowed to travel aroundthe classroom or use computers for which they are not assigned to. The student should remain on task and followinstructions when working on the computer. If a student fails to remain on task at the computer the student willbe taken off and given an alternate book assignment for a grade. If there is a technical issue please contact theteacher immediately. Students must demonstrate proper care of the equipment at all times. Computer shouldnot be personalized, meaning don’t change the background or move icons. Students are financially responsible forany damage to computers, printer, furniture, textbook, etc. due to misuse or vandalism. Any deliberatedestruction of property will result in an office referral. Teacher approval must be obtained prior to using acomputer and printing any documents or material from the computer.Electronic Device Use:All electronic equipment must be stored, turned off, and “out of sight” in all areas of DeSoto Central High Schoolduring the school day (7:45am – 3:45pm). Electronic equipment can only be used in the classroom when theteacher gives students permission to use their electronic equipment for instructional purposes.
