His second book is aneBook complete with template, Medical Practice Disaster Planning Guide. He also is the contributing author of the popular bookLean Six Sigma for the Medical Practice. Owen has 47 years’ experience in consulting, running a medical billing service andmanaging medical practices. He is also an independent consultant with the Medical Group Management Association, MGMA.He often speaks on issues related to the entire revenue cycle. Prior to establishing his independent consulting firm, Owen was ahospital administrator. More recently, he was the Chief Executive Officer of SALCO management, a New Orleans, LA companythat grew from one oncology client to over 11 clients with 65 physicians directly managed by the firm. SALCO was selectedas one of the top 10 places of employment in New Orleans in 2003-04. Owen’s passion for education inspired him to becomean adjunct professor at the University of New Orleans and the University of Houston. Owen received his Bachelor’s degree inHospital Administration at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and his Master’s from the University of Northern Colorado.
