The restof the team was picked up by a delegation from La Paz to start theircampaign there, that very night, two hours northeast of Los Cabos.Just for the record, things are not donedown here with the precision we might expect inthe United States but the Lord, as always, carriedus through. During some tough times in the finalweeks before the crusade, the Lord reassuredRichard’s heart “I am in this. New Life OutreachHis LeadingLook What the Lord Has Done, Continued.700 volunteers working on eleven committees.That was a huge number for the size ofour area, but the Body of Christ came togetherwith great joy and heart-felt enthusiasm for thework of the Lord. The Mayor (president) of LosCabos, Arturo de la Rosa, actually providedmany of the items and services we neededfor the campaign site. God used him and theMunicipality of Los Cabos in many ways thatgot us to the finish line. This precious, honorableman had planned on coming to the crusade onTuesday night but instead had to be in MexicoCity. He sent his wife in his place, who spokeencouragingly to the crowd of over 3,000. Shereceived the bible the area pastors bought MayorArturo, her bouquet of flowers, and stood in thegap for her husband, as the pastors and believersin the crowd stretched their hands toward her inprayer. The favor of God shown by Mayor Arturo alone is reason to rejoice!When the crusade first began The air was full of excitement on Monday the 18th of April as thepraise music started to fill the air. The weather was beautiful for all three days as we worshiped the Lordoverlooking famous Medano Beach and the Sea of Cortez. The setting was perfect for the celebrationof the King of Kings. We had an estimated 2,000 plus people on Monday night with approximately 400coming forward to accept the Lord or for recommitment. There were roughly 3,200 plus on Tuesday,with as many as Monday coming forward. Then on Wednesday, we could feel we had broken throughthe spiritual opposition of the area. Over 4,000 people came and many stood on the sides of the chairs,next to the lines of security volunteers, riveted with Carlos Annacondia’s message of their need to forgiveeveryone in their lives whom they had offence against. The huge altar area didn’t ‘fill up’ that night, itwas just instantly full and the presence of the Lord was heavy. Even the altar ministry was different thatnight, with the deliverance tent being filled with people in need of ministry and more people than the firsttwo nights testifying of significant healings in their bodies.2
I can’t possibly begin to share thetestimonies of the people who were physicallytouched by the power of God. The line of peoplewaiting to give testimony was estimated at twentypeople on the first night and increased from there.On the second night, a man who was told that hewould never walk by his doctor and if he did,would die immediately from a heart attack gotout of his wheelchair, dancing and praising theLord. He eventually lost his balance and fell thatnight, but after prayer in the deliverance tent andpractice walking, he was walking upright the nextnight; up on stage, with no problems with hisheart.On one of the first two nights, a younggirl’s eyes were healed and she no longer had towear glasses to see. The next morning, her teacherasked her why she did not have her glasses on,and the girl proudly told her she had been prayedfor at the crusade the night before and no longerneeded glasses. The teacher brought her to thefront of the class so she could testify to her fellowstudents as to what had happened just imaginethe great joy!On the last night, a teenage boy who wascompletely deaf received his healing. He testifiedfrom the stage with the high pitched, falteringvoice of one who had never learned to speakbecause of his deafness giving glory to God forhis hearing. What a life changing experience thiswas for him!These are just a handful of the miraclesGod performed during only three days. New Life OutreachHis LeadingAs the hosts for the Annacondia team, Richardand I were honored to talk with Carlos Annacondia,feel the preciousness of his character, ask questionsthrough the interpreter, and glean wisdom from him.Richard and I read his books, as well as the booksrecommended by Carlos, in preparation for the crusade.We knew he had had crusades that changed cities andentire regions in Argentina, so we asked him aboutthese former crusades. The key to such change from acrusade, as opposed to the continued working for thetransformation of an area, was the time frame of thecrusades, as experienced in the early years of workingthe soil of Argentina. Several of these crusades were aslong as forty to fifty days.In summation of this grand crusade in Los Cabos; from the very beginning and still to this day,the Lord impressed upon our hearts that we needed to invite Carlos Annacondia because he is known asone of God’s generals who breaks through the darkness in the spiritual climate of an area. In fact, manyof the reports use the phrase, “before Annacondia” and “after Annacondia.” We believe this happenedon the second day of the crusade, Tuesday, April 19th. The purpose of bringing Carlos Annacondiato Los Cabos has been accomplished only by the grace of God, and we give all glory to Him for thebreakthrough. In reality, our financial resources were depleted with only three days of crusade and ourfew, faithful leaders in the Mexican churches were worn, as well.4
For these reasons, we rejoice in what the Lordhas done! We look forward with great expectation tothe days ahead, as we continue with many plans for thetransformation of Los Cabos. We are standing on thepromises of the Lord and we speak of His intentions andHis purposes for an area of Mexico that for years hasbeen known for just about everything, but godliness.What a mighty God weserve!5
