Growing up duringthe Depression, everyonelearned to work hard. Joycealso finished high schooland attended a SecretarySchool in Omaha,Nebraska.Joyce was married andhad four sons: Robert,John, David and James.Joyce loved spending timewith her children. She was adevoted mother thatspent time with them andwas very involved withtheir activities. Joyce nowhas 10 grandchildren andtwo great-grandchildren.Her favorite job waswhen she and HowardJorgensen moved toArizona. They lived inApache Junction and Joycewas a director of a seniorcenter. She was able tospend quality time withfolks and plan wonderfulactivities for them.Joyce now lets others dothe planning of activities.She loves to spend timewith others and visit over acup of coffee. She alsoloves to spend time withthe cat, if it is in the moodto spend time with her. Sheknows that the cat has itsown agenda and comes andgoes as he pleases.NAOMI LARS ENNovember Resident of the MonthOn a hot day, the 31st ofJuly, John and Peg Wiemannwelcomed a beautiful babygirl to their family. Naomihad other brothers andsisters: Gwen, Frank, Jack,Ardyth, Elaine, Bev andGary. Growing up, Naomihad lots of help from herfamily to learn how to do allkinds of things. She becamea very creative young lady.She was one of those peoplewho could do just aboutanything, and do it well.After graduation, Naomimarried her sweetheart, FredLarsen. Together they hadfour children: Fred Jr., John,Luann and Susan. Now,Naomi has six grandchildrenand three greatgrandchildren.One of Naomi’s jobswas doingupholstery work forEster Williamson.Here, she gained alot of sewing skills.She also worked forDelongs and wasthe secretary forCommunityOpportunities. Working forCommunity Opportunitieswas her favorite becauseshe got to help those whoneeded help. It gave her agreat deal of satisfaction.In her free time, sheloved to do any kind ofcrafts, sewing, quilting,caring for plants, collectingantiques, and listening tomusic, especially Christmasmusic.Naomi has always hada great sense of humor. Shehas had to endure throughtough times throughouther life, but she has managed to keep her faith anda smile on her face. She isa loving and caring personand has been a wonderfulmother, grandmother,sister, and aunt.If Naomi has thechance to go out to eat,she would pickMcDonald’s, so she can eata Big Mac.

Herparents were John andClupia Schwartz Feltner.Delores (Tiny) also hastwo brothers, Laverne andDelbert, and three sisters,Mary, Rowena, and Opal.Growing up, Tinylearned to be veryresourceful and creative.She is one of those peoplewho can take nothing andmake something out of it.Sewing was a trait shelearned as a young girl.Collecting dolls wassomething she startedsome time ago. Shecouldn’t recall how manyyears ago she started, orhow many she had. Tinytakes new or scrapmaterial and makes allthe clothes for her dolls.She also embellishesthem with beads,buttons, lace, or anythingshe can get her hands on.This is where her creativitykicks in.Delores had one son,Terry. He was the light ofher life. He was taken toheaven in 1969. She nowhas four grandchildren andsix great grandchildren.One of Delores’favorite jobs was workingat the Friendship Home.She worked inhousekeeping for over26 years.Tiny loves to visit andto share stories about herdolls and where she gotthem.
