KEYNOTE SPEAKER BIOGRAPHYConnie Packard, CHPASenior Director and Chief of Public Safety,Control Center, Parking & TransportationServices and Emergency ManagementBoston Medical CenterConnie currently serves as an Incident Commander for BostonMedical Center for emergency and crisis response. For the pastthirty years Connie has overseen healthcare security for themedical center which includes the hospital and formerly Boston University Schools ofGraduate Studies in Medical, Dental Medicine, and School of Public Health. BostonMedical Center is the primary teaching affiliate for Boston University and a level onetrauma center. Connie has over thirty six years’ experience in security and public safetywork in both the public and private sectors.SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIESLeita McInnis, BSWPrison Justice Advocate Positive Living BCHolds a Bachelor of Social Work degree at UBC witha focus on working with Canada’s prison population. For the past fouryears, she has worked within our prison system, providing counselling, inreach services, and release planning to prisoners. Previous to joining IPS, Dave was an (ASL) with Paladin Security Group (PSG) overseeingsite operations for Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), Providence Health Care (PHC) andsubsequently the Fraser Health Authority (FHA) portfolios.Dave has an extensive 27 year military background comprising 17 years’ of operationalservice with the British Army and a further 10 years as Military Contract Officer in the UnitedArab Emirates Armed Forces.Dave holds a CHPA designation, CPTED level 1, has a diploma in Training & Developmentfrom Leicester University and has previous training in the field of Hostile Environment andCorporate Close Protection.Ian HendersonClient Service Manager, Paladin SecurityIan Henderson has worked in the contract security industry for 20years, during that time he has worked in a variety of areas,including retail shopping centres, mobile field operations, qualityassurance and account management.Ian has been certified as a Control Tactics Instructor for the last tenyears, and regularly provides use of force training for front linesecurity officers. Ian develops use of force program and policies for his employer, andprovides opinions on use-of-force incidents involving security officers.Diana Trasolini, CPHRVice President, People and Culture, Paladin SecurityDiana is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources with a Degreein Psychology, a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Human ResourceManagement, and a Masters in Human Resources and EmployeeRelations. She has been working in progressive HR positions for the last12 years and has been working with Paladin Security since 2010.In her current role as the VP of People and Culture, Diana oversees Human Resourcesstrategies for both the Canadian and U.S. business operations, supporting HR practices forover 15,000 employees. Diana is passionate about building HR processes that areprogressive, in line with best practice, and that continue to drive a powerful corporateculture that also aligns with business strategy. In 2018, Diana was named theCanadian HR Rising-Star of the year.Eric AdamsResident Agent in Charge, United States SecretService U.S. Consulate – VancouverEric Adams began his career with the United StatesSecret Service (USSS) in 2002. His first posting with the USSS was as aSpecial Agent in the Miami Field Office where he performed financialcrime investigations involving counterfeit U.S. currency, credit cardfraud, and identity theft. He was subsequently assigned to the MiamiElectronic Crimes Task Force where he conducted undercover child exploitationinvestigations resulting in numerous arrests and convictions of online child predators. Onesuch conviction led to a landmark U.S. court ruling in which the government seized asuspect’s home and 19 acres of land (United States vs Hull).In 2010, Mr. Adams was transferred to Washington, DC where he was assigned to theprotective detail for the Secretary of Homeland Security.In 2011, Mr. Adams was assigned to the Presidential Protective Division where he providedprotection to President Obama and his family, and subsequently to President Trump andhis family. While serving on the President’s protective detail, he was promoted to asupervisory position in the Secret Service’s Joint Operations Center.In 2019, Mr. Adams was selected to serve as the Resident Agent in Charge of the SecretService’s Vancouver Resident Office based out of the U.S. Consulate in Vancouver, BC.In this position, he facilitates investigative and protective activities between the U.S.Secret Service and Canadian law enforcement agencies, as well as acts as the liaisonwith Canadian financial institutions and other partners.Mr. Adams is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where hereceived a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.8th Annual IPS Education Summit FAILING FORWARD: Learning From Failure Page 5 of 9

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES cont’dDr. Evelyn ZellererFounder/Director, Peace of the CircleEvelyn is a renowned facilitator, trainer and speaker specializing incommunication, peace circles, restorative justice, and consciousgovernance. She earned her Ph.D. in criminology and over the past 25years, has taught and led projects in diverse contexts, including the Arctic, Australia,Caribbean, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mozambique, Nepal, South Africa, UK, and USA. Evelyn haspresented at many national and international venues, including the United Nations.Peace of the Circle is an organization working internationally with a wide range of justiceagencies, governments, workplaces, communities and educational settings(www.peaceofthecircle.com).Craig Paynton, CHPAManager, Protection, Parking & Fleet Services InteriorHealthCraig has extensive experience within the policing and protection worldand is the current Manager of Protection, Parking, and Fleet Services withInterior Health Authority. He began his career with the RCMP at the age of19, and has since gone on to work in the private protection industry with Paladin Security,where he developed a specific interest in Healthcare safety and security, leading to himworking briefly in the role of BC Healthcare Operations Manager. Returning to the publicsector with Interior Health (IH), Craig is responsible for the implementation of the Protectionprogram across the interior region of the Province of British Columbia, consisting of over300 IH facilities.In addition to policing and protection, Craig also has experience in counter terrorism, useof force, and emergency preparedness. He has been a member of IAHSS since 2016 andobtained his CHPA in 2017.
