Atthe heart of this success is the distinctive culture that drives our workplaceand differentiates us in our industry.Freeport LNG’s economic impact inBrazoria County in 2019 was over 40million in direct payments through avariety of sources: taxes, purchasesof goods and services, and variouscorporate donations and charitablecontributions. Additional economicbenefits that Freeport LNG bringsto the wider area are related to ourconstruction of the first world-scalenatural gas liquefaction and LNG exportfacility on the Texas Gulf Coast. OurEPC contractor, a joint venture between4 Freeport LNGZachry Group, McDermott Internationaland Chiyoda International Corporation,brought thousands of employees andsubcontractors to our construction sitesevery day, creating a notable economicimpact. Once the gas pre-treatmentand liquefaction facilities are completed,Freeport LNG will add over 250 permanent high-paying jobs to our workforce.Expanding our operations in southernBrazoria County goes hand-in-handwith our effort to earn stakeholder andcommunity trust. Over the years, wehave built a reputation as a credible,accountable and trustworthy neighbor. It is an evolving social contract wehave entered into with the people inthe communities around us, where ouremployees live, work and play. VOLUNTEERS—THE HEARTBEAT OF PROGRESSFreeport LNG employees are proud to work in a sociallyresponsible company and enjoy giving back to the communityusing their talents and skills. They work alongside their co-workers, and in some cases, their families to provide service toorganizations who share a common mission and values.clothes to these two programs, their mainfocus is creating hope for children andfamilies throughout the holiday season.Peanut Butter FactoryA church in Houston runs a volunteer-operated peanut butter factory and canneryin the Houston area. Teams of volunteersarrive at the factory for shifts to work a realpeanut butter manufacturing operationthat benefits thousands of people in needthroughout the greater Houston regionand in areas hit hard by natural disasterswhere shelf-stable protein sources arevital. The teams from Freeport LNG madea record number of jars of peanut butterduring our visits—enough to feed more than200,000 kids a peanut butter sandwich!6 Freeport LNGFeeding the Hungry, Backpack Buddies,Food Pantry Service at the BrazosportCares Food PantryOur team of volunteers spends timethroughout the year volunteering tostuff backpacks full of food to get hungry students through the weekend whenschool is out. Volunteers also helped foodpantry clients select nutritious items.YMCA Angels and Brazoria County PeaceOfficers’ Association Blue Santa Program200 children benefitted from FreeportLNG employees’ generosity during theholidays. Through donations of toys andAnnual Thanksgiving Food DriveEach year on the Thursday before Thanksgiving Day, Freeport LNG hosts our all-employee Thanksgiving Luncheon. We takean opportunity together as a work familyto give thanks for our blessings and sharethose blessings with others. Non-perishable food and personal hygiene items arecollected and donated to local food pantries.Our 2019 donation ensures that 75 backpacks got stuffed for the weekend, 5 seniorcitizens had meals for an entire month,and 3 families of 4 ate for an entire week.Trees For HoustonOur Volunteer Champions got out of theoffice and into the outdoors, continuingthe focus on flood relief efforts by plantingtwenty-eight 15-gallon trees at Best Elementary School in Houston. This volunteerevent was a partnership with Trees ForHouston, a non-profit that is dedicated toplanting, protecting and promoting trees.Best of all, Freeport LNG also provided thefunding for the care of those tress for twoyears to be sure they will survive. Trees cleanthe air, mitigate run off, cool the surroundings and beautify our neighborhoods.Military Moms and Wives ofBrazoria CountyThe best time of the day for our troopsstationed overseas is mail call. Lettersfrom home and care packages from lovedones remind troops that they haven’t beenforgotten. MMWBC sends letters, carepackages, and comfort items to deployedAmerican service members, and supportstheir families here at home. MMWBCprepares and ships 2500 care packagestwice a year to these soldiers – summer andChristmas holiday mailings. Freeport LNGemployees collected and donated needed items for the 2500 care packages thatwere sent to active servicemen and womenduring their annual summer mail-out.2019 Community Investment Report 7

EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE READINESSEducation for learners of every age and skill level pavesthe way for personal advancement and community enrichment. Freeport LNG commits both money and timeto bring these values to the Brazozport community.Our Signature Event! Gator Classic andScholarship CelebrationIn support of the growth of the scholarship program at Brazosport College,Freeport LNG became the title sponsorof the 20th Annual Gator Classic GolfTournament in 2018.8 Freeport LNG2019 was our second year to commit to the title sponsorship. As aresult, the tournament netted a 71%increase and all proceeds fundedscholarships at Brazosport College.Support of Education FoundationsPublic school district education foundations were created to support educationalprograms for students and staff. Thesefoundations provide funding for programsand activities that could not be fundedor funded fully under a school district’soperating budget. These funds are usedto enhance, enrich and facilitate studentachievement and skill development, rec-ognize and encourage staff excellenceand expand community involvement fromindividuals, businesses and civic organizations. Freeport LNG provides fundingfor the Brazosport ISD, Angleton ISD,and Danbury ISD foundations, designating the majority of the funds to STEAM(Science, Technology, Engineering, the Artsand Math) curriculums such as robotics,and career and technical education.2019 Community Investment Report 9

EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE READINESSA Freeport LNG volunteer reads to third grade students as part of National Read Aloud Day.Brazosport Arts in Media Film FestivalWith over 1600 entries from 93 countries,the inaugural BAM! Brazosport Arts inMedia Festival showcased animation andshort films created by high school and university students from Texas and aroundthe globe including entries from Japan,South Korea, Germany, France and India.This innovative digital media event is a wonderful educational opportunity for studentsto develop digital media skills and showcasetheir hard work in front of a live audience.BAM! Brazosport Arts in Media Festival isan event produced by ARS ARCA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that develops unique projects promoting Science,10 Freeport LNGTechnology, Engineering, Arts, and Math(STEAM) for students and communities.Sponsor A Scholar and Veterans Scholarships at Brazosport CollegeFor many students, access to high-qualitycollege education would not be possiblewithout scholarships. Freeport LNG proudlyprovides funding to the Brazosport CollegeFoundation’s scholarship programs. In 2019,Freeport LNG established two scholarshipfunds at Brazosport College. The first is a fundthat will benefit students enrolled in technicalprograms; the second will benefit Veteransattending Brazosport College. The Veteransscholarship will help fill the gap that the TexasHazelwood Act does not completely cover.A donation to Brazosport High School covered the supplies fees for all welding students in the CTE program.CCPI Women In Industry ConferenceParticipating in and sponsoring the Community College Petrochemical Initiative’sWomen In Industry Conference, allowedFreeport LNG to support women andyoung ladies in learning about high-payingcareers in the petrochemical industry. Thisconference provides a day of motivation,success stories, career strategies andnetworking opportunities. Information isavailable about petrochemical and industrial trades career fields, sessions to hearfrom women in the industry about specificcareers and what it takes to obtain a position in that field, hear from a panel of HRrepresentatives about how to get hired, aswell as obtaining college information regarding classes, financial aid, degrees and certificates. Participants also have the opportunityto visit with industry representatives to showcase careers and opportunities in the field.Edge4VetsAssisting veterans who are transitioningfrom active duty into the civilian workforceis something that Freeport LNG was excitedabout becoming involved with. Twice ayear, employee veterans sign up to helptransitioning service members translate theirstrengths from the military into tools forquality performance in the civilian workforce.2019 Community Investment Report 11

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSEAt Freeport LNG, we depend on our partnerships with thelocal fire and EMS responders. We also know that the broadercommunity depends on those same responders to be trainedand have the equipment they need to do their jobs. Therefore,Freeport LNG is proud to make monetary donations to thesedepartments. These donations are part of an annual tradition ofgiving to various community emergency response organizations.We have been providing donations like these for more thanten years.Donations to Local Fire andEMS DepartmentsIn 2019 Freeport LNG provided fundingfor two new police patrol vehicles forthe Brazoria Police Department. Freeport LNG also provides specializedLNG fire training and frequent trainingopportunities for EMS personnel thatapplies to their required continuingeducation credits. Additionally, thesedepartments are included in emergencytraining exercises alongside FreeportLNG personnel as part of their training.Firefighter LNG TrainingFighting an LNG fire takes specializedtraining. That’s why every year FreeportLNG provides intense specialized trainingfor the fire fighters of the Freeport FireDepartment. Training is conducted at theindustrial fire training school of the TexasA&M Engineering Extension Service inCollege Station, Texas. Freeport LNG sendsaround 12 participants yearly. During thetwo-day course, a 13,000 gallon load of anLNG road tanker is used to demonstratethe properties of LNG and the safest waysto combat possible emergency scenarios.12 Freeport LNGAngleton Exchange ClubFirst Responders Recognition BreakfastFirst responders lay their lives on theline every day, and still it is often a jobthat does not receive much recognitionor appreciation. Freeport LNG partneredwith the Angleton Exchange Club torecognize first responders’ professionand the dangers that they face daily. Firstresponders from the Angleton area wereinvited to a breakfast cooked and servedby members of the Exchange Club andsponsored by Freeport LNG as a displayof our appreciation for the work they do.100 Club of Brazoria CountyFreeport LNG is proud to be a lifetime-member of the 100 Club of Brazoria County. The 100 Club exists toprovide necessary financial assistanceto families of Brazoria County officerswho have lost their lives in the line ofduty. Each year, Freeport LNG proudlysponsors the 100 Club’s annual OfficerOf The Year awards banquet to recognize the top officers of each law enforcement department in the County.2019 Community Investment Report 13

CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENTFreeport LNG has a proud tradition of supporting environmentalstewardship. LNG produced by Freeport LNG will replace coal andcrude oil in electrical generation and other industrial uses aroundthe world. Power generation from natural gas emits 50-60% lesscarbon dioxide than a typical new coal plant. Freeport LNG’s commitment to the environment doesn’t stop there. For example, wehave donated nearly 350 acres of land containing various types ofhabitat to conservation groups, and we manage another 35 acresof wetlands we have created at and around our facilities on Quintana Island. These areas host a variety of shore and wading birds,including roseate spoonbills, gulls, avocets, stilts and many others.Plastic Water Bottle ReductionFreeport LNG CEO, Michael Smith, hasa special love of the oceans and hasmade over 800 dives throughout theworld. As such, when he read about ofthe amount oftrash, primarilyplastic, that isaccumulatingin our oceans,he becomealarmed. Thereare 50 billionwater bottlesconsumed every year, about 30 billion of them in the U.S. (which meansroughly 60% of the world’s waterbottles are consumed in the U.S., eventhough Americans comprise only about4.5% of the world population). Thereare 1,500 water bottles consumed PERSECOND in the U.S. Consistent with ourcommitment to environmental stewardship, in 2018 Freeport LNG launchedan initiative to discontinue the use ofplastic water bottles at our worksites.14 Freeport LNGGCBO Bird SanctuaryRe-vegetation ProjectVolunteers tackled re-vegetation of theQuintana Neotropical Bird Sanctuary.They Installed an underground watersystem, planted 7 species of nativetrees, 12 species of native shrubs andrefurbished the current trails.Trees for ParksFreeport LNG donated 10,000 to theBrazoria County Parks department. Themoney was used for new tree plantingsand enhancements to the wetland pondarea at Quintana County Park. Theseenhancements will be well utilized bymigrating birds each season as the parksits in the pathway of the largest migratory bird flight path in North America.E-Waste Recycling DayFreeport LNG, in partnership with KeepBrazoria County Beautiful, marked thisevent by offering Brazoria County residentsthe opportunity to properly dispose ofand recycle their old computers, obsoletetelevisions and other household electronics. Over the nine years that this event hasbeen held, over a million pounds of electronics has been recycled and the amountcollected each year continues to rise.Conservation MissionsConservation of wetland and water resources is an important part of the missionof the Coastal Conservation Association(CCA), Delta Waterfowl (DW), and DucksUnlimited (DU). Their work is important tothe sustainability of these habitats and tothe fish, wildlife, and birds that depend onthem. Working to educate the public, thethree organizations are ensuring there isa promising future for local ecosystems.Freeport LNG is proud to provide sponsorship for these organizations’ annual fundraising banquets as part of our stewardshipcommitment to the coastal environment.2019 Community Investment Report 15

Each quarter,Freeport LNG employees makeroom in their busy schedules to donate blood as part of their workday.In 2019, Freeport LNG employeesanswered the call by donatingblood to help one ofFreeport’s own, the son ofa Freeport LNG employeediagnosed with Leukemia in 2018. More broadly,160 units of blood weredonated resulting in theability to save 480 lives!CHI St. Luke’s Health Cancer CenterCapital CampaignFreeport LNG was the presenting sponsor of the bi-annual Bluebonnet SocialClub benefitting the Brazosport HealthFoundation. Proceeds from the eventwent toward the purchase of a CTScanner machine for the Cancer Centerlocated at CHI St. Luke’s Health Brazosport. The CT scanner was installed inthe summer of 2019 and is in full opera16 Freeport LNGThe Houston MethodistHospital FoundationFreeport LNG committed 1 millionto the Translational Research Initiative within the Methodist HospitalResearch Institute in Houston. Thisdonation is being matched dollar fordollar by the TRI Challenge Fund,bringing the philanthropic impact to 2 million. These donations will beused to help build a significant fundto support the mostpromising translationalresearch projects as determined by the TMHRIin the coming years.Dr. Elizabeth McIngvaleSpeaks at BACHThe Brazoria CountyAssociation for Citizenswith Handicaps (BACH)featured world-renownedOCD spokeswoman Dr.Elizabeth McIngvale at theirannual luncheon. ElizabethMcIngvale is the founder ofPeace of Mind, a non-profitorganization for peoplewith obsessive-compulsivedisorder. She herself wasdiagnosed with OCD at theage of 12, and at age 18 became the national spokesperson for the InternationalOCD Foundation. FreeportLNG was the underwriter ofthe keynote speaker whichallowed guests to learnabout McIngvale’s life livingwith OCD, with all of itschallenges and successes.2019 Community Investment Report 17

United Wayprovides a strong foundation for community change by focusinginvestments on strengthening our community and enriching lives.United Way Workplace Campaignand Golf TournamentThe 2019 Freeport LNG United WayCampaign raised over 308,000 for localUnited Way programs. KomenRace for the Curein Houston hasbecome a favoriteevent for Freeport LNG employees.Our employees form a team eachOctober to participate, with FreeportLNG providing their entry fees andmatching employee contributions.Heaters for SeniorsFreeport LNG Volunteer Championsorganized a drive to collect heatersfor senior citizens. Through a partnership with ActionS, Inc., 76 heaterswere collected and distributed to senior citizens in our community whodid not have access to adequate heatsources during the colder months.In 2019, 25 Freeport LNG representatives walked or ran for the Cure. The team also raised 9,000 !Helping With Food InsecurityFreeport LNG strives to reduce foodinsecurity in the Brazosport area bysupporting local food pantries likethe Brazosport Cares Food Pantry inFreeport and the Brazoria County DreamCenter in Clute. We support theselocal organizations through financialdonations and through volunteerismwithin their operations. An additionalevent that we proudly support eachyear is the HEB SouperBowl of Caringthat happens each January just prior tothe Super Bowl. We partner with ourneighboring industrial facilities, The DowChemical Company and BASF, pooling our resources together to provide1500 bags of food for needy families.20 Freeport LNGA highlight in 2019 was the sponsorship of the BISD Child Nutrition Department’s Summer LunchProgram. BISD Child Nutrition hit the streets in school buses to provide hungry children of all ageswith nutricious meals and books to keep them engaged in reading.2019 Community Investment Report 21

COMMUNITY—IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFEPreserving Brazoria County’s Historythrough MuseumsFreeport LNG is committed to preserving the history of the communities in which it operates. In thatregard, Freeport LNG continues tosupport the Freeport, Lake Jackson,Brazoria and Brazoria County Historical Museums through a varietyof fundraising opportunities.22 Freeport LNGForensic Facial ReconstructionIn 2009 a mystery skull was discovered ina sand pit in Oyster Creek, at the currentsite of the Freeport LNG Pre-treatmentfacility. In 2010 Dr. Douglas Owsley, Headof Physical and Forensic Anthropology,Smithsonian Museum of Natural Historyand Dr. Richard Jantz, Director of Forensic Anthropology Center Universityof Tennessee examined the remains.Their forensic examination dated theskull to be about 3,500 years old.To share this exciting archeological findwith the public, Freeport LNG supportedthe Freeport Historical Museum’s project to discover what she looked like.Internationally recognized forensicsculptor, Amanda Danning, created afacial reconstruction of the Archaic Erawoman during a two week live demonstration at the museum. Her effortsdetailed proof of a robust, hard working woman of about 32 years of age.If you missed the event, you can see atime-lapse video of Ms. Danning workingto bring the face to life, and view thefinished sculpture at the museum.2019 Community Investment Report 23

The company participates in a number of opportunities to communicate with government and businessleaders, community members and our fence-line residents.Brazoria County Petrochemical Council(BCPC) Responsible Care OutreachResponsible Care is a voluntary initiativeto continuously improve and protect theenvironment, health, safety and security of employees and communities. It isconsidered among the most advancedexamples of industry self-regulation.Community Advisory Panel (CAP)Freeport LNG is part of the CAP in theBrazoria County region. The panelmeets every other month and provides a forum for candid conversation about industry-related issues ofcommunity interest or concern.Supporting Economic and BusinessDevelopmentFreeport LNG is proud to support economic and business development inBrazoria County through membershipsto local Chambers of Commerce andThe Economic Development Alliance ofBrazoria County.
