JUNIOR FAIR GENERAL RULES1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.10.11.12.13.All exhibits must be the work of the exhibitor and must be work done since the last St. Croix County Fair. All animals and livestock must be shown by the exhibitorunless special permission is granted by the dept supervisor.Only one exhibit per exhibitor in each lot number is allowed. Participants will exhibit only in one particular division(s) that pertains to the project work they arecarrying.An exhibitor may call the Fair Support Personnel with changes to their entries until July 1. No changes will be accepted after July 1. The only exception will be ahealth related situation regarding an animal.The Junior Exhibit buildings will be closed to the public between 10:30pm and 8:30am.The decision of the judges is final in all cases.Each exhibitor of animals must clean their own exhibit area. Exhibitors must bring their cleaning supplies – forks, shovels, and wheelbarrows, and dispose of manureas directed.Exhibits will be released from the buildings on Sunday from 4pm to 7pm and Monday from 8am to 11am. If exhibits are removed before 4pm exhibitors will losetheir premium money. Exhibitors are responsible for arranging to bring and take home their exhibits. All animals MUST be removed by 7pm on Sunday except thoseauction animals which will be loaded out on Monday morning.In event of an emergency, refer to EVACUATION PROCEDURE map on the back cover of this Fairbook to evacuate the St. Croix County Fairgrounds.Cleaning Barns after St. Croix County Fair – Each 4-H Club or FFA Chapter is responsible for cleaning their respective animal exhibit area after the St. Croix CountyFair. The barns must be cleaned by Monday at 8pm after the St. Croix County Fair. All manure is to be dumped into the manure pits at the end of the barns.Exhibitors must receive approval from the St. Croix County Fair Association Inc if they intend to use a skid steer to clean their area. Exhibitors in the barns are to pullback the manure 3 feet from the barn walls or dividers before leaving Sunday night if there has been arrangements made to use skid steers to clean the barns. If aClub/Chapter doesn’t comply the group will be assessed a 100.00 clean-up charge to be paid to the St. Croix County Fair Inc as well as a premium loss to exhibitors.No dogs are allowed on the St. Croix County Fairgrounds with the exception of Special Needs Dogs. Dogs participating in the 4-H Drill Team and 4-H Dog Show areallowed on the St. Croix County Fairgrounds the day of the Dog Show.ALL ANIMALS NEED TO STAY IN THE BARNS EXCEPT DURING SHOW.Bicycles are not allowed on the St. Croix County Fairgrounds.No gators or ATVs are allowed on the St. Croix County Fairgrounds without St. Croix County Fair Inc’s Permission. No one under the age of 16 will be allowed to driveon the St. Croix County Fairgrounds.JUNIOR FAIR BEHAVIOR RULES14.15.16.17.18.19.20.The general supervision of the St. Croix County Fairgrounds, together with the exhibit area, is vested in the St. Croix County Fair Inc which has the responsibility tosee that order is maintained on the St. Croix County Fairgrounds.No one will be allowed to smoke in any of the fair buildings including the barns.No one will be allowed to use or possess alcoholic beverages, tobacco, illicit drugs, other intoxicating substances, or weapons in any Junior Exhibit areas includingbuildings, barns, and fair campgrounds.Persons throwing water will forfeit their premiums.Anyone who is intoxicated or exhibits ‘rowdy’ behavior will not be allowed in the Junior Exhibit areas.When violations of the above conditions occur all violators willa. Be asked to cease the activity or be asked to leave the St. Croix County Fairgrounds.b. Be prosecuted if such activities are violations of the law.Junior Exhibitors who violate behavior rules willa. Be asked to cease the activity or leave the St. Croix County Fairgrounds and parents be called (day or night)b. Forfeit all premiums for the current fair and immediately remove all of his/her exhibitsc. Forfeit the opportunity to be a Junior Exhibitor at any county, district, regional, state, or national event for a period of 12 months from the time of theviolation.CODE OF CONDUCT / BEHAVIOR .1.2.3.4.1.2.3.All youth represent their respective program. It is important to behave in a manner that reflects positively. All youth (21 and younger) participating in the St. CroixCounty Fair is expected to adhere to this code of conduct:Demonstrate healthy choices. Possession and/or use of alcohol, tobacco, weapons, illicit drugs or medications(s) is forbidden. Adults overseeing the activity need tobe informed of medication prescribed to the member and/or over the counter medications approved by the parent(s).Exhibit mutual respect for all participants. Use of language and gestures found to be objectionable to others is not permitted.Use good judgment in dress. Revealing attire is not acceptable, such as extremely low cut tops, short shorts and thong swimming suits are not allowed. Do not weart-shirts with obscene language/pictures or with drug, tobacco or alcohol advertising.Avoid public displays of affection. Necking, kissing and sexual activity will not be tolerated.Be respectful of property and facilities. Do not damage or destroy public or private property.Behave in accordance with applicable federal, state and municipal laws.Supervising adults will take the following steps for violations of this code of conduct:Counsel with involved youth privately to reach an understanding and stop the inappropriate behavior.Take disciplinary actions at the time of occurrence. This may consist of restriction of privileges, apology to the group, additional duties, etc. Physical punishment isnot appropriate.Inform parents and the leader of the appropriate youth organization of misbehavior at time of occurrence if supervising adult feels severity of situation warrantssuch immediate notification.When the infraction is serious, decide as part of a committee of at least two adults to remove a youth from the activity and send him/her home immediately.Write a letter describing the disruptive behavior to be sent to the youth’s parents within 10 days after the activity.Consequences of violations will result in the following disciplinary action:Families of youth removed from the activity will be responsible for the youths’ transportation home. Youth removed from the activity will wait with the supervisingadult until parents arrive.If damage/destruction of property occurred, youth will be assessed for the cost of the damages and repairs.Youth will be subject to the disciplinary actions of the organization they represent at the County Fair (4-H, FFA, Scouts, etc).Youth who break public laws will be subject to legal action by law enforcement authorities.Steps for an appeals process:Youth who wish to appeal the disciplinary action may do so within 5 days of the violation.Youth(s) involved must request a meeting with the disciplinary committee which will consist of at least three members from the appropriate organization(s): St. CroixCounty Fair Board, 4-H leaders’ Council, County Committee Member, UW-Extension, FFA, etc.The meeting to review the disciplinary action will be scheduled within 15 days of the request.74 Page

OPEN CLASS FAIR GENERAL RULESATCP 160.10 – NOT OPEN TO YOUTH EXHIBITING IN THE JUNIOR FAIR1. Completed entry forms are due May 31. Entry can be completed online at www.stcroixcofair.com or by mailingentry forms to Cindy Van Dyk 904 131st Ave, New Richmond, WI 540172. Open Class exhibitor tags can be picked up on Saturday prior to the fair at the fair office from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. oron Wednesday of the fair from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and must be in place by 8 p.m. Non-animal exhibits must bebrought in on Wednesday Only. Animal exhibits may only be brought in on Thursday from 11 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.Animal exhibits must be in place by 8 p.m.3. All Open Class Fair Exhibits must be raised, grown or made by the exhibitor. All open class exhibits must be workdone within the last 2 years or it will be disqualified. All animals and livestock must be shown by the exhibitorunless special permission is granted by the person in charge during judging.4. No changes in entries are permitted. In the event an article has been entered in the wrong category, the item willbe disqualified, but may be exhibited the following year.5. All buildings will be closed to the public between 10:00 p.m. & 9 a.m.6. Each exhibitor of animals must clean their own exhibit area. All ribbons are awarded at the discretion of the judges and the decision of the judges is final in all cases.13. Only one entry per exhibitor under each lot number.14. The Superintendent of the Department and/or the judge has the authority to disqualify an item if it does not meetthe class or the lot requirements or guidelines.15. Cleaning Barns after St. Croix County Fair - Each 4-H Club or FFA Chapter is responsible for cleaning their respective animal exhibit area after the St. Croix County Fair. The barns must be cleaned by Monday at 8pm after the St. Croix County Fair. All manure is to be dumped into the manure pits at the end of the barns.
