Lesson 5Welcome to lesson 5 This is where it all gets VERY exciting you start tosource your first products to sell on Amazon’s platform. However Let’s do a few ‘checks’ first.I hope by now you have:1. Created an account with Amazon Sellers Central to sellproducts on Amazon using their FBA (Fulfilled By Amazon)service – preferably a professional account, especially ifyou intend for this to be your full-time income2. Set up accounts with the tools and apps that will makeyour eCommerce business run much more smoothly, quicker andmore efficient3. Seriously considered, or already joined FBA Wizard Pro –it’s the best sourcing product tool on the market in theUK, and the one I use to source all my stock4. Decided whether you will prepare the stock yourselfbefore sending it to Amazon or use a Prep House to do itall for youAnd after those ‘checks’ you are ready to start

Sourcing Your FirstProductThere are THREE ways/methods to sourcing your products tothen sell on Amazon.1. Copy and paste method2. Using a product sourcing tool – like FBA Wizard Pro3. Visiting retail outlets, and scanning barcodes (usingthe scanner within your Amazon Sellers Account) tofind a good Return On Investment (ROI) product – plusyou can also sell used products on Amazon car bootsales can produce the odd ‘star’ bargain or two –especially children’s toys/board games and books.Let’s look at the cheapest way to source products Copy and Paste MethodI used this method right at the beginning of my FBAjourney, and while a little time-consuming, you dooccasionally find some very cheap stock that other FBAsellers don’t see – especially if you look at small retailwebsites that are looking to offload stock they no longerwant. The ‘copy and paste’ method is more or less what it says onthe tin.You find a product on a website, copy the name of theproduct, paste it into Amazon’s search box and see whatit’s selling for on Amazon. Then, you use the FBA calculator to work out what youroverall profit will be after all costs, check how manyitems are selling each week/month, how many sellers and seewhether it’s worth your while.

So, here’s what you need to do.Firstly, to save you a little more money start by lookingat online retail sites throughhttp://topcashback.co.ukThen choose a category for products.I usually click the ‘Offers’ link at the top of the page

Let’s have a look at Argos and see if we can find somedeals.TopCashBack tell us (at the time of writing) Argos areoffering 2.6% cashback for online orders with homedelivery. So, let’s click on the ‘Get Cashback Now’ button

And on the Argos home page.Let’s click ‘Price Drops’ and see what Argos are currentlyoffering.Under ‘Home and Garden’, Laundry and Cleaning’, ‘Irons’section, I find this Phillips iron which Argos are offeringfor 54.99.

So, we’ll copy the product title and paste it into Amazon’ssearch box to see what this iron is currently selling for.And here’s the search results:We will ignore the ‘used’ listing and the GC4521/87 model The first matched product lists the price at 184.23

The second listing has the iron at 113.00 which is around 60.00 more than on Argos.Next, we will look at the FBA calculator. You will find this in your Sellers Central Account Or it is fitabilitycalculator/index?lang en GBAnd I’ll enter the product number which is: GC4522/20And select the correct product.

We enter all the details – I’m putting the price at 112.00to undercut the other seller - and click ‘calculate’

Which shows that after all Amazon costs, I’ll be left witha net profit of 92.68.Take off the price of the iron from Argos, and I’ll be leftwith a profit of 37.69.* And remember, Argos will give me 2.6% cashback too.

Lets have another look on Argos. This time under: “Home and Gardens”, ‘Kitchen/Electricals’,‘Small Kitchen Appliances’, ‘Rice Cookers and Steamers’ Ifind this Morphy Richards 470001 3 Tier Steamer priced at 24.99.

Let’s copy the product details and search Amazon. And there it is on Amazon at 38.99.Let’s click on all the sellers:And there are only 6 sellers offering this product – pricedbetween 38.99 and 72.00.And nobody selling it through Prime – where Amazon Primemembers get items posted free.

Let’s have a look at the calculator:

I matched the other lowest seller and I’d end up with a netprofit after Amazon costs of 29.46 With the product at Argos costing 24.99 I’d be left with anet profit of 4.47.Obviously, this is only an example of how to find products, and the net profit for this example is far too low for meto bother with it – unless it was selling 10 items a day.I’ve only concentrated on Argos, there are 1,000’s of otherretails online that you can search and compare. With the ‘Copy and Paste’ method this is really onlysuited to you if you simply want to ‘dip your toe’ in thewater of Amazon FBA to get a ‘feel’ of how it all works. But saying that I found a product item using the ‘Copy and Paste’ methodthat was giving me an overall profit of 11.52.I bought 5 products And they all sold out within 3 days.It was an easy 50.00 profit and I could have continuedsupplying Amazon with more of the same stock. So that’s the time-consuming method of sourcing products Yes it works But if you are doing this seriously where you are lookingto make this a full-time income Then you need to use a product-sourcing tool – such as FBAWizard Pro.The tool searches literally 1,000’s of online retailers compares hundreds of thousands of products against Amazon’sprices and presents you with 100’s of products that you canbuy and re-sell on Amazon for a profit.

Within the next lesson I’ll take you inside FBA Wizard and show you how it allworks And some of the products it finds for me to profit from.

water of Amazon FBA to get a 'feel' of how it all works. But saying that I found a product item using the 'Copy and Paste' method that was giving me an overall profit of 11.52. I bought 5 products And they all sold out within 3 days. It was an easy 50.00 profit and I could have continued supplying Amazon with more of the same .
