While directing the Center from 1984-1990 the following accomplishments weremade. Initiated and supervised field experiences for two graduate students. Together weestablished a central office for the Northeast Florida Council on Alcoholism and DrugAbuse (NEFCADA) in 1989. NEFCADA is still operation in 2007. Developed and submitted a proposal for approval of the BSH & MSH degrees forcertification eligibility by the Certification Board of Addiction Professionals of Florida.Approved, April 1989. Developed a comprehensive student and community prevention and treatment resourcelibrary that was housed in the Center, 1989. Initiated a graduate credit institute for IMPACT training, a school-based prevention andintervention program, 1989. Selected to participate in Leadership Jacksonville Class of 1988. Our class initiated what isnow the Jacksonville Children’s Commission. Designed a series of field experiences in the field of chemical dependency treatment,1987-1991. Coordinated Glenbeigh’s Institute five-day Drug Prevention workshop at UNF, 1986. Founded the Campus Alcohol and Drug Information Center (CADIC) in 1985. CADIC is stillin operation at UNF. Cooperated with Hurricane Outward Bound to develop a field experience and internshipfor UNF graduate students. From 1985-1990, seven students participated. Coordinated a series of graduate credit institutes with the Division of Sponsored Researchin addiction prevention. The credit institutes lasted from 1985-1995. Received approvalfrom the Florida Department of Education for this 3 semester hour course to meetteacher certification requirements in all disciplines. Coordinated the development of research, training, and grant proposals for the Center forAlcohol/Drug Studies, 1984-1991. One of the key leaders in developing the dental hygiene program that is currently inoperation at Florida Community College of Jacksonville (FCCJ).TeachingProgram and Curriculum Development Completed a major redesign of the graduate and undergraduate internships packets for

Designed a graduate specialization in counseling that met the state education licensureand/or national and state certification requirements for rehabilitation counseling,rehabilitation service provider, case management, mental health counseling, andaddiction counseling, and secured documents of support from credentialing and licensingboards, 1995-1996. Designed four undergraduate minors that met the education requirements forcertification as addiction prevention professional, criminal justice addiction professional,addiction professional, and the preparation of individuals for the national employeeassistance professional examination, and secured documents of support fromcredentialing boards, 1994. Developed undergraduate minors in health education and alcohol/drug studies andgraduate specializations in addictions counseling, health promotion, and assisted in thedevelopment of a specialization in health care administration, 1984.
