Between Terms, the 13 corecourses, 28 elective courses, and 2 supervision track courses are closed for scheduled maintenance andquality assurance activities. They will open again the start of Term 2 on May 2. During the breakbetween terms, 46 courses in our CE (continuing education) category remain open and available to taketoward the renewal of the NYCPS or NYCPS-P certification. If you need continuing education credits,check our Spring Catalog for CE courses you would like to take!Tutoring Services Are Available!Tutoring is a support service offered to APS learners to help with strategies to successfully complete the13 Core courses. (For a flyer, click here.) Tutoring sessions are offered in 30-45- or 60-minute sessions toany learner enrolled in one of the 13 core courses. New courses launch for Spring SessionFor the start of Spring Session, on April 1, two new CE courses are being launched.PSYR01 Choosing the Life One Wants.This course is an introduction to thefield of Psychiatric Rehabilitation (PsyR).Topics of discussion include recoveryand PsyR, two models of provider toperson interaction, the importance ofBill Anthony in the development ofPsyR, and a framework forunderstanding how skills interact withsupports to yield success andsatisfaction.Seat Time: 1 hourSBP01 National Practice Guidelines forPeer Specialists and SupervisorsThis workshop explains the core valuesof peer services as described by theNational Association of Peer Supporters(N.A.P.S.) and their practical application.The workshop covers the followingpractice domains: Enhances knowledgeand skills; management, administration,or social policy; and ethics.Seat Time: 1 hourFor these and a list of the other 44 CE courses that will be open during the break between Terms (April1- May 2, 2022), view the Spring Session Course Catalog.APS BlogIn addition to the newsletter, the APS Virtual Learning Community hosts a blog site, which is anotherway you can stay informed and also get involved.
