Background &Methodology3

BackgroundFor more than 45 years College of DuPage has grown in influence and stature. In more recent years, COD hasundergone significant and transformative changes. Today COD is the largest singlecampus community college outside of California.To further its vision and mission COD wants to identify ways to better position and differentiate itself in the market,and do so in ways that motivate stakeholders to continue or begin a relationship withthe College.COD commissioned SimpsonScarborough To conduct qualitative and quantitative market research. This research will not onlyinform COD decision-making, but will ultimately be used by COD’s creative agency,Ologie, to develop a brand strategy. Ultimately, the School hopes to move into theimplementation of a proactive and intentional marketing plan with the goal ofcontinuing to grow awareness, improve perceptions, increase enrollment and retention.4
