The Food Bank The Salvation Army Renton Rotary Food Bank and SocialServices Center is open 6 days a week, providing food, financialassistance, and case management. We serve about 1,500 families per month. Jan. 2009 we served 32 homeless bags a week. Now it up to 70bags a week. The address is 206 S. Tobin, Renton, WA 98057

United Way of King County provides quality free tax preparationservices at The Salvation Army Renton Rotary Food Bank. Free tax preparation is available for taxpayers who make less than 50,000 and who need basic individual tax returns. Taxes are prepared by IRS-trained and certified volunteers andelectronically filed for a rapid refund. Tax season is January 15 to April 15. Program runs every Tuesdayand Wednesday (5:00 – 9:00 pm) Sundays (12:00 – 4:00 pm)

Rotacare Free Medical Clinic The Renton Rotary leadsRotocare, a free medical clinic atThe Salvation Army RentonRotary Food Bank. There are 2 volunteer doctors and2 volunteer nurses Open every Saturday from 9:00 –11:00 am. Serving an average of 22 patientsevery Saturday.

Free Adult Dental Clinic In partnership with Medical TeamsInternational. Adults 16 and older can receive freetreatment for their one most urgentdental need: fillings, bonding,extractions, blood pressure, toothcleaning, etc. Service is first-come, first-serve; noappointments. Held once a month atthe Food Bank. Currently - there is a waiting list of 3full pages. Up to 7 patients served per month.

B.O.O.S.T. Best Out Of School Time (B.O.O.S.T.) is anafter-school program for Elementary andJunior High students which includesHomework Assistance, Life Skills, ObjectLessons, Snacks, and Educational Games. Each child is assigned a mentor for that day.If they do not have homework they areassigned educational material to work on. Art and educational computer games areavailable after their homework is complete. Currently serving 18-20 kids a day!

Youth Programs Every Thursday, we serve 60 children and youth during the YouthPrograms. These programs are Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts,Sunbeams, Moonbeams, Girl Guards, and youth group. Many of these children would otherwise be lingering in streets, orstaying at home alone while parents are at work. Our goal here in Renton is to give our teens the type of experiencesthat will allow them to envision and pursue better futures, meetnew friends and have fun!

Weekend Backpack In September 2008, we partnered withthe Renton School District to distributebackpacks of food to children at risk ofhunger over the weekends. With this new program, backpacks filledwith 6 kid-friendly meals are deliveredto the schools for check-out on Fridaysand are returned by the students onMonday. It costs 12.00/backpack/week. Over 247 children got assistance lastschool year

Seniors Bible Study &Shopping Van Service Every Wednesday Evening a group of 14 seniors gather forfellowship, food, and Bible Study led by the Captain. Themeetings are held at the Cedar River Terrace from 6:30 p.m. to8:00 p.m. The Salvation Army staff offer rides to a dozen seniors to gogrocery shopping every Thurs. from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Operation: Take Out Operation: Take Out began over 5 years ago as a group ofvolunteers working in conjunction with the Renton Food Bank toestablish a home delivery service for those clients who wouldotherwise be unable to receive food supplies. This group has successfully completed monthly deliveries todozens of homes in the local community with a stable group ofcommitted volunteers. Food is delivered every 3rd Saturday of the month. There are 32 seniors receiving the assistance at the moment.

Renton Community Supper Renton Community Supper started on June 7, 2010. Average attendance 60 people. Open every Mon, Tues, Wed, & Fri from 5:30-6:30 PM.
