Applicants will need to demonstrateexperience in working with the elderly and disabled in a similar role, have as a minimum acurrent Police clearance; current Basic First Aid Certificate; ‘LR’ Australian Driver’s Licenseand ‘F’ class endorsement (or be willing to obtain prior to commencement at own cost).This is a 12 month fixed term part time position (30 hours per week); salary 46,845 (prorata) per annum; plus superannuation up to 14.5%. Information Package: HACC Activities Assistant / Bus DriverPosition overviewBusiness Unit OverviewThe Corporate and Community Services Business Unit is managed by the ExecutiveManager Corporate and Community Services and is a relatively new unit, with Administrationand Finance and Community Services being amalgamated following an organisationalreview in 2016.Corporate and Community Services are responsible for: Financial and Rate Services Governance and Administration Economic Development Community DevelopmentCommunity ServicesThe Town’s Community Services are made up of two Service Units, being Economic andCommunity Development and the Home and Community Care (HACC) Services.Home and Community CareThe Town of East Fremantle has been providing HACC services since 1989 through theNeighbourhood Link Program.Services provided by the Town’s HACC are totally reliant on HACC Funding through theState Government. The Neighbourhood Link Program is a HACC funded project and theTown’s HACC staff must be aware and accept that their positions may not continue shouldthe HACC Funding cease.The number of placements provided by the Service are included in the annual contract andcan only be changed if included and approved in the annual application process.HACC is supervised by the HACC Coordinator with a range of support services beingprovided to eligible HACC clients. Information Package: HACC Activities Assistant / Bus Driver3.Conditions of employment This is a part time position, reliant always on the Town being successful in HACCFunding applications. Council will contribute 9.5% compulsory superannuation and you will be eligible toenter into Council’s contributory scheme (entitles you to a further for contributionsup to 5.0% of salary), depending on conditions. Working Hours –. thirty hours per week, Tuesday to Friday 8.20am – 4.30pm Annual Leave – four (4) weeks per annum (pro-rata).(Two weeks Annual Leave to be taken during the Centre-based Day Care’sChristmas / New Year Closure). Training and personal development opportunities. Information Package: HACC Activities Assistant / Bus Driver5.Information on the Town of East FremantleThe Town of East Fremantle was created in 1897, when it separated from the FremantleMunicipal Council. Bordering the Swan River, our Town has a strong cultural heritage andsupports a large range of sporting clubs and community organisations.The Council comprises the Mayor and eight (8) Councillors, providing representation for aresident population of approximately 7,750 and covering 3.2sq kilometres.The Town’s administration centre is located at 135 Canning Highway East Fremantle and isbeing fully refurbished currently, and accommodates Finance and Administration, TownPlanning and Building, Environmental Health and Community Services.Currently the administrative staff are split between two buildings whilst the officerefurbishment occurs; Regulatory Services are located in Dovenby House (at the rear of theTown Hall); Corporate Services next door in the Old Police Station.Tricolore Community Centre is located at 5 Wauhop Road, (Cnr Preston Point Road) EastFremantle and is home to the HACC administration, centre-based day care. The Town has aWorks and Services Department located at the depot in Allen Street which provides theservices for street verges, parks, playing fields, roads, footpaths and recreational reserves.The Town has approximately 53 employees, with a total budget of approximately 15 million.6.Strategic Community Plan 2017-2027The Strategic Community Plan (SCP) is a long-term planning document that sets out thecommunity’s vision, aspirations for the future, and the key strategies we will need to focus onto achieve our aspirations. The Town’s SCP is currently being reviewed.It is part of our fulfilment of the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IPR) Framework.
