What studyroutes areavailable?Full ProgrammeAlternative routes to studyThe full CBMBA programme comprises 8Compulsory and 4 Elective modules for the dualaccreditation of Chartered Banker MBA whichis normally studied over a 24 month period.Postgraduate Certificate in BankManagement & Technology (CertBMT)The CBMBA may be completed in 2 years of studyand with minimal disruption to your career.CertBMT is a standalone professionalqualification for bankers and otherfinancial services professionals who wishto improve their practical understandingof bank management and technology.Accelerated RouteCertBMT Modules & Length of StudyApplicants with an approved professionalbanking or accounting qualification may beadmitted to the accelerated Chartered BankerMBA route. This means that applicants areexempt from at least 4 modules. This routecan be completed in as little as 18 months.Super Accelerated RouteApplicants with a recognised postgraduatequalification such as an MBA, or its equivalentmay be admitted to the Super Accelerated Route.This means applicants are eligible to study apre-set combination of four modules over a periodof 12 months to gain the dual accreditation ofChartered Banker MBA.Suitably qualified Bankers and Accountants withExecutive level experience may also be consideredfor this route. Maintainingmembership of the Institute is required duringyour studies and to retain the Chartered Bankerstatus which is awarded once graduated.How is the programme assessed?Each Compulsory Module is assessed byassignment and examination. Assignments aresubmitted at set points throughout the semesterwith the examinations taking place during the faceto face revision sessions held at the end of eachsemester. The assessment weighting is 40 per centby assignment and 60 per cent by examination.The chosen Elective modules are assessedby a 3500 word research project. Thesemodules apply the skills that are acquiredduring the compulsory Research Methodscourse and are essentially ‘mini consultancyprojects’. The Elective modules comprise thedissertation element of the programme.Entry RequirementsCandidates are assessed on an individualbasis. As an example, entry to the fullprogramme would normally require a goodundergraduate degree or possession ofan approved professional qualification andpractical experience. Individuals who donot have a formal degree or professionalqualification, but who have several yearsof approved management experience willalso be considered. Candidates may wish tosubmit their CV for assessment to confirmeligibility for a specific route.Applicants must have a high level of fluencyin the English Language. An IELTS, PearsonPTE or Cambridge English Test may berequested at the discretion of the AcademicDirector. Where this is requested, thefollowing minimum scores are required:English IELTS: overall score of 6.0(with no element below 5.5.)
