2017GCA ANNUAL REPORT3Welcome MessageIt has been a very memorable year for the GACCorporate Academy (GCA) with our 10-yearAnniversary milestone and the first year of rollingout our new strategic direction with the Delta 21strategy.GCA’s purpose for over ten years has beento achieve excellence in corporate learning anddevelopment, encouraging professional developmentby building upon individual competencies andattaining new skills.In the last decade, over 70 different courses havebeen designed and offered by our Academy, engagingthe minds of thousands of our employees over thistime. We have aimed to motivate and inspire newgenerations and in return, help build our business towhat it is today. I think we can all be proud of whatwe have accomplished.Looking forward, GCA will continue to play anessential role in the learning and development needsof GAC, especially during a time when businesssuccess demands flexibility and adaptability tomeet the challenges of the 21st century. In 2018we will see an increase in courses that will helpnavigate instability and rapidly changing businessenvironments, including the VUCA workshop andthe third instalment of our Leadership DevelopmentProgramme – the Performance-driven Leadership(PDL) course.In terms of Operating Capability this year, GCAlaunched more than 140 course iterations,representing 110% of the planned operatingcapability developed in conjunction with the annualforecasting process.
