However, Covid-19 has putmany summer camp plans on hold. The best possible option to make summer camp alive againis remote learning. The International Education Development Team at the School of ContinuingEducation is presenting a whole new online summer camp experience.The first and foremost purpose of this summer camp is to create a platform where learningand international academic and social exchange take place. The camp is open for Taiwaneselocal and international high school students to join. There are three major components in thiscamp—courses for college readiness, language, and culture. The focal college-ready coursestudy of this camp is * A brief introduction to Python Programming Language with AI facerecognition. Artificial intelligence has never been so hot thanks to the improvement ofalgorithm. To work with artificial intelligence, the first step is to learn how to code. Python isin fact the most popular, and easy to learn programming language among others. Its popularityis particularly important in the data science and machine learning fields, which explains why ithas become the language the most taught in universities. The purpose of this pre-collegecourse is to introduce Python programming language to local and international high schoolstudents aspiring to learning and exploring the world of Python language and artificialintelligence. In these series of online lessons, participants will be guided into the world ofPython Programming language with ease. The teacher will guide the participants to learn,practice and develop with Google Colab, and to learn some tricks for how to avoid commonproblems when learning programming languages.For the language study part, there are academic English and Chinese for beginners.Throughout, students who sign up for academic English will be assigned to read academic textsand learn vocabulary related to coding and learn how to write a college essay. Chinese forbeginners is for international high school students who would like to take the chance to learna new language. Chinese is the official language in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macao andSingapore. A total of about 1.3 billion people worldwide speak Chinese as their mother tongue.That’s approximately 16 percent of the world’s population.
