CHRISTIANA AKPILIMA-ATIBILTHAD STEPHEN AUSTINIn honor of my first-born son, CharlesApolikawen Atibil, who passed away in Ghanain October 2017 as a result of poor medicalservices and failure to follow health policiesand procedures, I plan to start a civil societyorganization to address the deplorable state ofhealthcare in Ghana’s rural areas. It will be thefirst in Ghana to tackle healthcare provisioninequalities. My vision is a Ghana where everyperson in urban and rural areas has effectiveaccess to quality health care.I will be working at Duke University in Durham,North Carolina. As the Senior Director ofDivinity Programs for United MethodistEngagement and Lifelong Learning, I willinterface with the Duke Endowment andexecute their strategic vision for religiousphilanthropy at Duke University’s DivinitySchool.MARINA TAN HARPERSUZANN LUPTONI will continue in my current role at Universityof California, Davis as Senior Director ofInternational Development in the alumni anddevelopment division of the university. Since2016, I have traveled to Asia and Europeregularly and worked with internationalconstituents - namely alumni, current parents,and friends of UC Davis for advancement ofUC Davis outside of the US.I will continue to serve as Assistant Dean of theO’Neill School of Public Affairs at IUPUI.

XIAOYUN WANGCOURTNEY BAUGHI plan to be an assistant professor at a Chineseuniversity and contribute to the theory andpractice of philanthropy and the nonprofitsector.After graduation, I will join CCS Fundraising,a fundraising consulting firm, as an AssociateDirector. Based out of the Chicago office, I willwork directly with clients across the CentralU.S. to assist with campaign management.ERIKA BRYANTSARAH CASTORIn conjunction with my master’s degree fromthe Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, I amcompleting my law degree from the IU RobertH. McKinney School of Law. I plan to developand grow the newly formed non-profit R.A.C.E(Rollins Association for Culture and Education)led by my friend and colleague Stephen Rollins.In addition, I hope to open my own law firm.This program has effectively bridged threeareas of my professional life—multinationalphilanthropy, local initiatives promotingdiversity and inclusion, and my futureambitions surrounding social justiceand interfaith initiatives. I hope to be aninstrumental part of the community as botha connector, educator, and innovator indeveloping effective philanthropic work thatbrings lasting and positive change.

ERIN MARIE CROWTHERALEXIS DAVENPORTFollowing graduation, I hope to work indevelopment for a nonprofit wildlife orenvironmental conservation agency. I ampassionate about connecting people with thewild things and places that make our planeta beautiful place. My education at the schoolhas prepared me with the academic knowledgeand tangible skills required to bring about real,positive change for the sustainability of ourworld.I will continue to leverage my educationand experiences as a McKinney Fellow toadvance social progress and uplift strategicenvironmental pursuits that navigate thecomplexities of humanity and our place inthe natural world. I hope to cross paths withan organization that embraces innovativeand untraditional methods — either throughgrant making or programming — to stimulateimpactful change for now and futuregenerations.DENISE DEENJESSIKA DEVINEThere are several areas that I am interestedin working in to gain experience: leadershipdevelopment, fundraising, communityoutreach, volunteer coordination, youthphilanthropy, international philanthropy, andadvocacy.I plan to continue my work in developmentfor The Salvation Army, serving the needs,interests, and concerns of our friends anddonors. This program has provided me with theskills to better serve today’s philanthropist andbroadened my perspective on the crucial roleour philanthropic activities play in society. I’melated to put this acquired knowledge to use tobetter serve the sector.

ELEANOR (NORA) DIETZ-KILENCLAIRE FOURNIERAfter graduation, I plan on staying in theIndianapolis area. Through my educationand experiences provided by the Lilly FamilySchool of Philanthropy, I have learned that Igreatly enjoy work that ties to education and/or healthcare. I intend to find an organization inwhich I can contribute my skills and knowledgegained over the years, where I have theopportunity to learn and grow.This past year, I have lived and studiedabroad in Singapore, following my spousefor his career. At the current time, we arereturning back to the United States and I aminterviewing for senior development roles inour hometown of Orlando, Florida.FARAH GERBERJAYCEE BLAIR GREENBLATTAfter graduation, I am looking forward tostarting my new position as DevelopmentOfficer for the Island Institute in Maine. Ifeel honored to work within an organizationfocused on creating sustainable solutionswithin the environmental sector.Upon completing the master’s program,I accepted a position with the JewishCommunity Foundation of Los Angeles.My education at the Lilly Family School ofPhilanthropy has been extremely significantin preparing me for this opportunity. Workingwith the best in the field, I have gained agreat wealth of knowledge and developedmeaningful professional connections. I am verygrateful for all of the support I have receivedfrom the dedicated staff and faculty.

MAXWELL HAGANCASSANDRA HOWARDI will be working for the Indiana UniversitySchool of Medicine as the Senior BudgetManager. I look forward to continuing myservice as the Vice Chair of the West DeaneryUnified Catholic School Board in Indianapolis.My plan after graduation is to continue workas a non-profit consultant through HowardStrategies, LLC. In this capacity, I assist nonprofit organizations with their developmentand communications strategies. I also offertraining programs for nonprofit fundraisers.MANAL ISSAKYLIE L. KASPARI plan to work as a practitioner, a consultant,and a philanthropy advisor in the MiddleEast. Organizations operating in a Muslimcontext need institutionalized, professionalfundraising operations that will motivateprivate giving to institutions. I will work directlywith institutions, assisting in establishingand developing their fundraising operationsthrough training and collecting stories aboutgiving that highlight various identities.I have accepted the position of DonorRelations Manager at the Indianapolis ArtCenter. I am also involved in the Indianapolismusic community, working to promote variousevents as a micro-influencer and socialmedia consultant. Additionally, I am the ChiefRelationship Officer for a startup music coworking space, which will launch in the fall atthe Circle City Industrial Complex.

KAYLA KOLKAWILLIAM LAVINUpon graduation, I hope to continue the workthat began in my graduate assistantship bypursuing an opportunity with a corporatefoundation.I’m continuing to launch a revampedinternational nonprofit and will also continuemy work in higher education development.CALEB LEVELLJOSÉ LUSENDEAfter graduation, I will continue serving inmy role at the American Cancer Society asdirector for the National Colorectal CancerRoundtable. I look forward to applying myexperiences and lessons learned from thephilanthropic studies program, both as aprofessional and as a volunteer, within the fieldof cancer prevention and control.First, I would like to put in practice all theknowledge, insights and perspectives Iacquired from this prestigious program.Second, I plan to continue researching sometopics of personal interest (Black philanthropy,civil society in developing countries.) withhopes to author a few articles in specializedpublications. Last, but certainly not least, Iwill consider enrolling in a doctoral programwith aspirations to teach and prepare futurepractitioners in the field.

UZMA MIRZAJULIE MOOREHEADI plan to continue my social entrepreneurshipwork, writing and working with architectural/engineering green practice and nonprofitfoundation for the built-environment, theenvironment, women and the arts. I intend tocomplete my current mosque design projectsoon to be taken into construction.I will be continuing my role as ExecutiveDirector for TCC Gives. I plan to further growour More Than a Phone program that helpssurvivors of domestic violence. I will assistIU Health philanthropic efforts through myposition on the AAHC Philanthropy Council,and am looking forward to serving Learningto Give as a new board member. I also planto work more with TCC and hopefully otherfor-profit companies to find the value of givingback to their local communities.ADAM MORGANANASTESIA OKAOMEEAfter graduation I plan to continue my workwith the Phi Kappa Psi Foundation, who worksto continue its support of leadership andcharacter development opportunities and tohelp reduce the cost of higher education. I’llalso keep working with Delaware nonprofitswho are working on new ways that will allowyoung professionals to have an increasedimpact in their community. And of course I willspend more time with my wife, Jaime, and ourchildren, Jackson and Avery.I plan to continue my studies in the PhDprogram at the Indiana University Lilly FamilySchool of Philanthropy.

MADELINE RICHARDHANNAH SAEGER KARNEIAfter graduation, I will continue working at theIU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI as AssistantDirector of Development. I’m so grateful forthe wonderful education that I received at boththe O’Neill School and the Lilly School duringmy graduate career, for the amazing mentorsI’ve had along the way, and for my family whoput up with me going to school for 20 yearsstraight.I will be the inaugural fellow for The PattersonFoundation in Sarasota, Florida. The oneyear fellowship provides the opportunityto learn and work within an innovativeprivate foundation with the goal of providingexceptional leadership developmentopportunities.STACIA SWANSONMADELAINE TAYLORI serve as the Senior Director of Developmentfor the Graduate Schools & Seminary atCalifornia Lutheran University in ThousandOaks, California. Cal Lutheran’s mission is toeducate leaders for a global society who arestrong in character and judgment, confidentin their identity and vocation, and committedto service and justice. I have been married toKrister for 26 years and we have three sons.I am currently the Volunteer Coordinator atthe Victims Assistance Center in Watertown,New York, and the wife of an active-dutymilitary officer stationed at Fort Drum. Giventhe required frequent moves, I am interestedin establishing a sustained relationship witha professional organization, and I would evenconsider working remotely in order to buildlongevity within an organization, which wouldallow me to continue to be of service in spite ofregular relocation.

LINSEY THOMPSONDEBORAH THORNBURGHI am searching for employment in anIndianapolis nonprofit, hopefully focused onwomen’s issues or animal welfare.I plan to continue to serve as Director ofDevelopment at The Orchard School.CASSANDRA TICECOLTON LEWIS WITHERSAfter graduation I will continue my work as aGrants Officer for the IU Health Foundation. Iwill apply the knowledge I’ve gained from mytime at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropyto seek and secure external funding fromprivate foundations, government grants, andcorporate partnerships.I plan to continue my work in philanthropyas the Associate Director of Purdue MusicalOrganizations and on the board of theIndianapolis Men’s Chorus. I am thankful forthe wonderful faculty and staff at the LillySchool who have shown infinite grace as I havejuggled this intensive program and a full-timecareer. All the love to husband, Ben, and ourfamily and friends.

JEFF BARBEEDONNA CLARKI plan to continue studying the relationshipbetween arts support and cognitive, economic,and social outcomes.Upon receiving my Graduate Certificate, I planto pursue the MA in Philanthropic Studieswhile living and working in the Central Indianaarea.LINDI CONOVER-THOMPSONMARILYN GOELLNERI’ll be moving into the PhD program aftercompleting the Graduate Certificate. Duringthis fun and funky journey, I’ll continue to buildmy business, EPCollaboration, where I helpcommunities improve their corner of the world.I am currently the Vice President of UniversityAdvancement at Edinboro University, Edinboro,Pennsylvania.

VICTORIA L. KINGPHYLLIS A. KINSEYMy post graduate plans are to continue mywork in the nonprofit sector along the GulfCoast.I will pursue the M.A., with hopes to work fulltime in the sector in 2020. I plan to combinemy extensive business experience with apassion for writing and traveling to serve indifferent segments of the nonprofit sector. I aman advocate for developing women leaders inthe workplace and interested in harnessing theenergy and interests of all generations.PETER J. ROETHCASEY RUSCHMANI will continue my professional role asAssociate Director of the Global LivingLearning Community at Indiana UniversityBloomington. I am also in the final stages ofcoursework to earn an Ed.D. from the HigherEducation and Student Affairs program at IU.I plan to stay in my current position at DukeEnergy. I manage our low-income residentialprograms in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, andhelp customers who struggle to pay theirelectric bill lower their costs by installing energyefficient measures. I also plan on staying veryinvolved in the Greater Cincinnati communitythrough volunteerism. Obtaining the graduatecertificate will greatly impact my personal lifeand professional career. The knowledge andexperience I have acquired is immeasurable.

KAREN SANBURNSOPHIE C. STEWARTI plan to move into the Master’s Degree inPhilanthropic Studies while maintaining fulltime employment with the Indiana UniversitySchool of Medicine.I will earn a Master’s in Higher Educationand Student Affairs from IU, as well as thecertificate in philanthropic studies. I intendto enter the student affairs field to work withcollege students in a leadership development,orientation, and transition program.This knowledge is complemented by anunderstanding of how traditions of giving andreceiving can positively affect the world aroundus, an understanding I hope to be a tenant ofmy future interactions with students.JESSICA WICKMANGRANT WESLEY BOONEWhile working for Accion International inCambridge, Massachusetts, I plan to continuemy studies at IUPUI as a student in theMaster’s Degree in Philanthropic Studies.After graduation, I look forward to growingand expanding my nonprofit organization GearGoing Global!

ASHLEY ELSEYKELSEY HARRINGTONI will be taking my philanthropic studiesexperience to the workforce in programdevelopment and community engagement fornonprofits that serve social change.Following graduation, I will begin serving asProgram Associate for the George and FrancesBall Foundation in Muncie, IN, which allowsme to utilize both my BS in Business and BA inPhilanthropic Studies. I am eager to begin myprofessional career, and to work with granteeswho represent new and emerging communityorganizations in Muncie’s nonprofit sphere.JONATHON HAWKINSNATALIE LASKOWSKIMy current plans are to work for UberTechnologies immediately following graduationand to pursue a master’s in the near future.My path towards a career in philanthropybegan as a desire to help those less fortunateand improve the world. My journey hasblossomed into a passion to make myphilanthropic desires a reality. Using educationand networking opportunities, I learned to bea leader of leaders and turn a daydream intoreality. I will be continuing my career as theDevelopment Coordinator at the National FFAFoundation in Indianapolis and contribute mytalents to agriculture education.

MORGAN OUTCALTCLAIRE RALSTONI plan to work for a nonprofit in the Indianapolisarea.Upon completion of my Bachelor of Artsin Philanthropic Studies, I plan to pursue acareer in development for a local nonprofitorganization. I will combine my passionfor youth empowerment, my love for thecommunity of Indianapolis, and the skills Ilearned in the classroom to raise funds andspread awareness. I also plan on returning tothe Lilly Family School of Philanthropy to beginwork on my Master of Arts in PhilanthropicStudies in January 2020.JOSETTÉ ROBINSONLACY ROSSI plan to develop a career within thephilanthropic sector. I have secured a positionas a Community Leadership Officer at theCentral Indiana Community Foundation.Additionally, I plan to attend graduate schoolto earn dual Masters degrees in PhilanthropicStudies and Public Affairs.I am graduating with a BA in PhilanthropicStudies and a minor in Event Management.I hope to pursue a career in Indianapolisfocusing on improving the communityand continuing my family’s work with ourorganization called Maddie Smiles.

KATHERINE WAGGONERELIZABETH WILLIAMSUpon graduating, I plan to continue pursuingmy goal of improving the criminal justicesystem through research and advocacy. I lookforward to embarking on a new adventureas I begin working on a Master of Science inCriminal Justice in the fall.I plan to earn the MA in PhilanthropicStudies. Additionally, I will continue to workas a Plat Collective realtor and run my smallphotography business. I am passionate aboutmy hometown of Indianapolis and excitedabout the ways it is developing and changing.I hope to work in the community developmentsector – specifically in issues around educationor housing.
