Insert the charging adapterplug by aligning the arrow on theplug with the arrow next to thecharging jack on the back of thecharging base. (fig. 2)2 Place the vacuum on the chargingbase to charge. (fig. 1b)C ScrewIfig. 11 Insert the vacuum body into themotorized brush. (fig. 1a)B Handle Press the button again to switchto a lower speed optimized forbare floor cleaning. On thissetting the vacuum will run forapproximately 17 minutes. TheLED lights around the powerbutton will indicate your speed.1 Place your foot lightly on the topof the motorized brush and tilt thehandle back to release the unitfrom the locked upright position.BCOn this setting, the vacuumwill run for approximately 12minutes.TOLL FREE: 1-800-798-73983 This unit is equipped with aprecision charger that monitorsthe batteries to ensure a fullcharge for every use and to extendthe life of the batteries. Dependingon usage, the time for a fullcharge is 4 to 7 hours.4 One half of the blue LED lightaround the power button willilluminate while the unit ischarging. When the charge iscomplete, the complete oval willbe illuminated. (fig. 4)I f the charging light does notilluminate, ensure that thecharging adapter is pluggedin properly to the wall outletand to the back of the chargingbase. Also ensure that theunit is properly seated in thecharging base.2 Charge the vacuum for 7 hoursbefore initial use. After initial use,each recharge will take 4 to 7 hours.A complete oval around the powerbutton will illuminate when the chargeis complete.3T he precision charger monitors thebatteries so you don’t have to. Acomplete charge can take as little as4 hours, but may take up to 7 hoursbecause the charger monitors batteryproperties to extend battery life.Leaving the unit in the charger pastthe complete charge time will NOTharm the batteries.4 If the vacuum has never been usedor has not been used for an extendedperiod of time, it will take 3 to 5complete charge and run down cyclesto realize the full operational time ofthe vacuum.5 Do not store or charge in areas of hightemperature or humidity.6 Use only the charge adapter suppliedwith this unit, marked with “ForSV1106 Model Only”. If other chargersare used, the battery can fail causingdamage to the battery, to the vacuum,or to personal property. IMPORTANT: The indicator lightaround the power button willflash if the brush roll stopsdue to a jam. This feature isdesigned to protect the LifetimeBelt that powers the brushroll.See “Restarting After a Jam” onpage 8.BARE FLOOR Press the button again to turnthe unit off.CARPETBATTERY RECONDITIONINGBATTERY REPLACEMENTIf you experience shorter run time over thelife of the vacuum, perform the followingbattery reconditioning steps. Thesesteps can also be performed as monthlymaintenance for maximum battery life.1 Push the connector terminals togetheruntil they click into place.1 Charge the vacuum for a minimum of 7hours.2 Run the vacuum until it turns itself off.3 Charge the vacuum for a minimum of 7hours.BATTERY REMOVAL, REPLACEMENTAND DISPOSAL2 Replace the new battery pack into thebattery compartment, taking care totuck the wiring completely in so thatthe wiring does not interfere with thebattery access door.3 Place the battery door onto the bottomof the nozzle, slide it back into placeand move the sliding tab next to thedoor to the lock position.CAUTION:The cordless vacuum is powered by Ni-Mhbatteries, which must be recycled ordisposed of properly in accordancewith state, federal and local laws. Ifuncertain as to how to remove the batterypack, we suggest that you take yourvacuum to a reputable small applianceservice technician to have this serviceperformed. BATTERY REMOVAL Do not remove or damage the batterycasing.1Ensure that the unit is Off.2 Never open the battery compartmentexcept to replace or dispose of thebattery pack.3 The battery door is on the bottom ofthe floor nozzle. Turn the unit over andpush the sliding tab located next to thebattery door to the unlock position.Slide and lift the battery door off of thenozzle.Use only with battery pack supplied. Never use ordinary batteries forreplacement as these may leak anddamage your vacuum Do not attempt to remove the batterypack from the unit to charge. Never throw the battery pack or theappliance into a fire or incinerate it. Do not place the batteries on metalsurfaces. Do not touch metal parts of thebatteries together as the batteries willoverheat.4 Remove the battery pack by pulling onthe battery strap.5 Grasp the white connector terminalsand push down on the lever with yourthumb. Never operate thevacuum without the dust cup and filterin place.1 Turn off the vacuum beforeremoving the dust cup.3 Holding the carry handle, placethe dust cup inside a trashreceptacle and press the lowerdust cup door release button.Gently tap the dust cup todislodge and release dust anddebris. (fig. 6)I mportant: If the Dust Cup Doordoes not swing open after pressing the release button, push thedoor open using the bottom doortabs.4 Snap the door back in place.2 Press down on the dust cuprelease button (fig. 5) and pull outthe dust cup.6TOLL FREE: 1-800-798-73985 If you notice hair or other debriswrapped around the metal screenin the upper chamber of thedust cup, press the upper dustcup door release to open thetop of the dust cup. Lift out themetal screen, clear any debris andreplace. Snap the door back intoplace. (fig. 7)6 Replace the dust cup by firstseating the lower part of the dustcup, then pushing in the top partuntil it clicks. (fig. 8)CLEANING THE FILTERYour vacuum has a high efficiencydust cup to maintain strong suction bypreventing debris from collecting onthe filter. To maintain strong suction,it is important to clean the foam filterevery month, under normal use.1T urn off the vacuum and removethe dust cup.2 Remove the foam filter (fig. 9) andrinse under water until the waterruns clear. (fig. 10) Squeeze theexcess water out of the filter andlet it air dry for 24 hours beforereplacing. DO NOT use a hair dryer orother forced hot air to dry thefilter. DO NOT operate the vacuumwithout the filter in place. DO NOT operate the vacuumwith a wet filter.motorized brush, in the air inlet ofthe dustcup or wrapped around thebrush roll. These areas must be freefrom debris for maximum cleaningperformance. To clear blockages andclean the brush roll:1 Ensure the vacuum is off.NOTE: It is normal for your foam filterto discolor over time; it will notaffect the filter performance.2 Press the release button locatedon the rear of the main body andremove the motorized brush.(fig. 11)CLEANING THE MOTORIZEDBRUSH AND CLEARINGBLOCKAGES3 To clear the air hose, flip backthe connector to straighten theair passage (fig. 12) and carefullyremove any debris lodged in theair hose. DO NOT USE SCISSORSOR OTHER SHARP OBJECTS ASTHESE MAY DAMAGE THE HOSE.An accumulation of hair, string, andother debris may sometimes becomelodged in the flexible air hose of thewww.sharkclean.com7

Removeanything wound around thebrush by carefully cutting itwith scissors. The brush roll isequipped with a raised cuttingguide to make inserting scissorseasier. Avoid damaging or cuttingthe bristles. (fig. 13)5 Use a flashlight to inspect insidethe air duct at the bottom of themain body and remove any debrisor blockages that may be there.Reattach the motorized brush,ensuring it clicks into place.fig. 18BRUSH BAR REMOVALBRUSH BAR INSERTION1 For easier cleaning, the brush rollcan be removed from the nozzle.Using a coin, turn the dial next tothe brush roll access door to theunlock position. (fig. 14) Removethe brush roll access door.(fig. 15)1 To reinsert the brush roll, first slipthe black belt onto the white gear(fig. 17a), then align the whitesquare on the opposite side ofthe brush roll into the square slot.(fig. 17b)2 Slip the black belt off of the whitegear and lift out the brush roll.(fig. 16)6 Remove the dust cup and use theflashlight to check the air pathon the spine of the vacuum andremove any debris or blockages.Then replace the dust cup.2 Align the white square on the beltside and position into its slot.(fig. 18)3 Replace the door, inserting thewheel side first. Clean orreplace the dust cup filter (See “Replacement Parts” below).
