Traffic information regarding May 26th – Westwood High School Graduation Day!On Thursday, May 26th, the following restrictions and/or closures will be in place on Rio Salado Parkway between Country Club Driveand Alma School Road:Traffic on Rio Salado Parkway from Alma School Road and Westwood will be open with two lanes for westbound traffic and onelane for eastbound traffic. Left turns will be permitted at the intersections.-The center turn lane on Rio Salado Parkway will be closed (barricaded) between Emerson and Beverly for equipment storage.-Revere will be CLOSED north of Rio Salado Parkway.-The westbound curb lane will be CLOSED on Rio Salado Parkway from Date to Revere.Tips for Driving Safely through Construction to School:Expect Delays - Leave a bit earlier, if necessary, to arrive at your destination on time. Consider using an alternate route that bypasses theconstruction zone.Slow Down when approaching the work zone.Follow Posted Speed Limits, especially within construction zones.Leave Room - Leave adequate braking room between your vehicle and the one ahead of you.Pay Attention - Avoid cell phone or radio distractions, as well as those of other stopped cars or construction activity in the area.Pedestrians – Please use the cross walks at all times. DO NOT cross in the middle of the street through construction zones.BROWN ROADMonday, April 18th through Friday, May 27th – Eastbound Brown Road will be restricted to one lane from Grand Avenue to Pasadena. This curb laneclosure will allow the contractor to access the newly installed transmission water line for welding and grouting.Thursday, April 21st through Friday, May 20th – Brown Road will be restricted to one lane in each direction from Country Club Drive to Grand Avenueto allow the contractor to install approximately 850’ feet of 48” transmission water line. From Thursday, April 28th through Friday, May 20th left turns will beprohibited for east and westbound traffic.COUNTRY CLUB DRIVEThursday, April 28th through Friday, May 20th – The traffic control set-up on Country Club Drive will remain the same (two southbound and onenorthbound lane) from Rio Salado Parkway to Brown Road. Northbound traffic will be prohibited from turning right (east) from Country Club Drive to BrownRoad. The contractor will resume paving restoration along Country Club Drive from Rio Salado to 10th Place from April 27th through April 29th; as a result,the barricading in this area will be reduced but not eliminated.RIO SALADO PARKWAYWestwood Street Closure – The work in the intersection of Westwood Street and Rio Salado Parkway is scheduled to be completed and the intersectionopen by 6:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2nd.Monday, May 2nd through Wednesday, May 25th – Rio Salado Parkway will be restricted to one lane in each direction from Westwood Street to east ofDate Street as the contractor completes the installation of the 12” water line and 8” sewer line. The contractor will restore the area and reduce the amountof barricading in this area for the Westwood High School graduation on May 26th. If there is any uncompleted work in this area, the contractor will returnafter the memorial weekend to complete the work and this barricade set-up will be implemented.Monday, May 9th through August, 2016 – Rio Salado Parkway will be restricted to one lane in each direction from Alma School Road to Beverly Streetas the contractor begins the installation of the 48” transmission water line.June, 2016 through August, 2016 – Rio Salado Parkway will be restricted to one westbound lane from Westwood to Date Street for installation of the 48”transmission water line. During this time, access will be maintained to the homes along Rio Salado; however, eastbound traffic will be prohibited.WEEKLY BULLETIN 2
