To provide administrative and educational support services to foster a safe, comfortable, and engagingenvironment for a diverse institutional population.HistoryIn 1965, the International Fine Arts College (“IFAC”) opened its doors to 47 students to study in one major: FashionMerchandising. For the next 23 years, IFAC built an international reputation as an institution that trained andeducated Fashion Merchandisers. The students of IFAC were known for their knowledge and abilities in the UnitedStates, Europe, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.Since IFAC had a sound academic curriculum and a faculty of credentialed, practicing professionals, it receivedregional accreditation by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS) in1979. SACS accredited IFAC to grant associate degrees.After becoming accredited, IFAC expanded its degree offering to include baccalaureate degrees. The SouthernAssociation of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges granted IFAC the accreditation to offer baccalaureatedegrees in March 1997. Currently, the University offers diploma, associate, baccalaureate, and master degreeprograms in Accessory Design, Advertising, Audio Production, Baking & Pastry, Computer Animation, Culinary Arts,Culinary Management, Design & Media Management, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, Digital ImageManagement, Digital Photography, Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Marketing & Management,Fashion Retailing, Film, Film & Digital Production, Game Art & Design, Graphic & Web Design, Interior Design,Page 8 of 270

In December 2002, the institution moved its main facility to the Omni buildinglocated at 1501 Biscayne Boulevard.As Miami International University of Art & Design grew and became educationally vibrant, it opened The Art Instituteof Tampa. The Art Institute of Tampa branch opened on January 5, 2004. On December 31, 2016, MiamiInternational University of Art & Design acquired The Art Institute of Charlotte, The Art Institute of Dallas, and TheArt Institute of Raleigh-Durham. During the first decade, additionalprograms were added, and the institution earned accreditation as a business school, recognition by the U.S.Department of Education, and approval from the Veterans Administration. In 1999, American Business & FashionInstitute joined The Art Institutes system of schools, changing its name to The Art Institute of Charlotte. In 1978, it became theFashion and Art Institute of Dallas, and expanded its programs in Fashion Merchandising and Interior Design, andadded a Commercial Art program. In 1979, The Art Institute of Dallas was approved to grant an associate of appliedarts degree in each of its programs. In October 1984, The Art Institute of Dallas became a member of The DesignSchools. Continuing with the same student body, faculty, and curriculum, the school then changed its name to TheArt Institute of Dallas. In September 1988, the school moved to the present facilities at 8080 Park Lane in NorthDallas. The Art Institute of Dallas was granted initial membership at Level I granting associate's degrees with the,Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges effective January 1, 1998.
