TwinDoor – the variable opening of the boot is not only an original innovation,but also a patent of the ŠKODA brand. With this unique structural and designsolution, the Superb Sedan takes an exclusive position not only in its class,but among cars in general.On the one hand, it represents a classically elegant Sedan with a luxuriousspace for passengers that is completely separated from the luggage area.6When you press the soft-touch button in the middle of the boot, only the firstpart will open and you will have access to stored items.On the other hand, the Sedan is also a very practical Liftback, which enablesunlimited access to the luggage compartment and easy handling of bulkyitems, by lifting both parts of the boot including the window.

The optional electric panoramic sunroof of theWagon, the front part of which can be tiltedand shifted outward (with a windbreaker), has tintedglass which reduces heat and light penetration.The entire window can also be covered by anelectronically controlled blind.The optional KESSY (Keyless Entry with enginestart/stop function) allows you to unlock and lockthe vehicle, as well as start and switch off theengine without actively using the key. You onlyneed to have the key with you.Park Assist, (standard onWagon) utilises front and rearsensors to simplify vehiclehandling – it literally parksthe car for you. While ParkAssist operates the steeringwheel, the driver just usesthe accelerator and the brakepedals to park.You will find a removable LED flashlight on the left side ofthe luggage compartment (Wagon only) which rechargesautomatically when put back in its place (when the engineis running). The flashlight is also equipped with a magnet soit can be mounted, for example, on the body of the vehiclewhen changing a tyre at night.10
Luggage compartment lighting inthe Superb is purposefully designed.There are two small lights locatedon the inner side of the boot,intensively illuminating not only thespacious luggage compartment,but also the space behind the vehicle.Illuminated internal door handlesmake exiting the car in the dark easier.The boarding spots, designed to illuminate theentry areas, are located on the external mirrors andon the underside of the front and rear doors andhelp you to avoid puddles in the dark.Lighting of the foot area inthe rear is activated whenthe rear door is opened inthe Elegance models.11

The linear reflectivesurfaces, “cat’s eyes”,improve the rearvisibility of the car.The rain sensor inthe rear-view mirrorautomatically activatesthe front windscreenwipers based on therain intensity.14Deactivation of interiormonitoring and theinclination sensor,located on the B-pillaron the driver’s side,will partially limit alarmfunctionality (standardon Elegance).Bi-Xenon headlamps with AFS (Adaptive Front LightSystem), standard in the Elegance model, also contribute tothe looks of the car. The sharply-cut shape and expansiontoward the sides give a dynamic expression to the Superb.As for their functionality, the Bi-Xenon headlights of theSuperb are fascinating not only for their excellent luminousintensity, but also for their new Adaptive Front Light System,which enables automatic modification of the shape of thebeam so the lighting is adapted to various driving conditions.Driver and passenger airbags belong to the basic carsafety elements, as do the curtain airbags which create aprotective wall along the side windows when activated.
Side airbags in the front are designed for protection of the pelvis and chest.Rear side airbags located in the rear seats between the backrests and doorsoffer the same protection.The driver’s knee airbag prevents contact withthe lower part of the dashboard in the event ofa collision.15

The dashboard evokes a feeling of comfort at first sight and first touch. The ergonomicplacement of individual controls allows you to become quickly oriented to your surroundings.The new generation steering wheels for Superb are available in several designs, which differin shape, material and functions offered, but each make driving a pleasure because theSuperb is accurately and easily controlled.Front foglights with corner functionality can, of course, be utilisedduring limited visibility. But if the foglights are switched off and theheadlights still on, the corner function is activated when manoeuvringthe car at speeds up to 40km/h, depending on the steering wheelposition or the indicator lights. It automatically activates either right orleft foglight, alerting the driver to possible obstacles on an unlit road.Tyre Pressure Monitoring is a system that utilises data from the ABS(Anti-lock Braking System) sensors. Sudden decrease in tyre pressureis manifested by a change in revolution speed of the under-inflatedtyre compared to the other tyres, so a warning light on the instrumentpanel will alert the driver about the inconsistency.Heating of the rear seats, standard in Elegance, is regulated bya separate control on the rear of the central armrest, and in coldweather contributes to the comfort of your journey. This function issupplied in combination with heated front seats.The electric driver’s seat is also equipped with a memory function,which can store three different seating positions as well as the varioussettings of the external mirrors. This option comes as standard in theElegance model.Columbus satellite navigation (inc 30GB hard drive) is standardon the Elegance. It has a user-friendly, touch-sensitive screen andhigh-resolution display that shows 3D maps and video. With agenerous 30GB hard drive and built-in DVD drive, your music libraryand navigation data is always at your fingertips. Your favourite musiccan also be accessed via an MP3 compatible aux-in multimedia socketor SD memory slot card. Voice activated control function also available.19
Electronically retractablemirrors will be especially usefulwhen parking on city streets.The passenger wing mirror alsoautomatically tilts downwards whenyou engage reverse gear, helpingyou navigate when reversing in totight spots. Also as standard, theside indicator lights are integratedin the external mirrors.The optional electric sunroof with solar cells(Sedan only) is a unique example of our moderntechnology helping serve your comfort. Solar cellsinside the sunroof, whether open or closed, generateelectric energy that drives a ventilator, which takescare of air circulation inside the vehicle. Therefore, theSuperb provides you with a fresh and pleasant interiorclimate even after extended parking in the sun. Duringa hot day, the temperature inside the vehicle can belowered by up to 25 C. As an option you can order atraditional electric sunroof with tinted glass, enablinga view of the sky while providing protection fromsunglare. Both sunroofs can also be closed via theremote central-locking key.20Optional roller blinds for the rear of the Sedan, and rearside windows significantly increase passenger comfort byminimising sun glare.Integrated telescopic headlight washers,being part of the Bi-Xenon headlights, easilyclean off dust and mud, helping to keep theheadlights clean and working effectively.
The optional power tailgate canbe controlled from four differentlocations: the remote controlbutton; a button on the centreconsole; an internal button on theboot; and the external soft-touchbutton. You may also adjust theupper door position individuallyaccording to your needs.The soft-touch button inthe door panelling allowsautomatic closing of the boot.The roof railing comes in an anodised coating. Optional privacyglass, with a higher density of tint in the rear part of the vehicle,not only protects passengers from direct sunlight but alsoaccentuates a sense of privacy.21
22The space that the Superb Wagon offers for both passengers and luggage is exceptional. The luggage compartment with a basic volume of633 litres can be extended up to 1,865 litres by folding the rear seats.
To position and secure luggage, the Superb Wagon is equipped withintegrated aluminium strips with fixing elements. This allows you,for example, to separate the luggage space in two, while the fixingstrap can be used to prevent luggage from sliding around.Optional automaticrelease of cargo covershifts to the centreposition after the bootis opened, which makesaccess to your luggagehighly convenient. (Thisfunctionality comes asa standard with powertailgate).The optional extendableboot floor levels thearea with the loadingedge, and createsa hidden storagearea. By extendingthe floor you maycover the loading sill,which will make it easierfor you to handle bigor bulky luggage.The rear seats aredesigned with anemphasis on the highestpossible comfort andconvenience, so thebackrests and seats areseparate and foldable.You will find closed storagecompartments behindthe rear wheel arches.Practical folding luggagehooks will also maketransporting yourshopping easier.23

The dashboard and doors are lined with themetal-effect Mirage decor, and offered in two colour combinations (blackblack or black-grey), while the door panelling can also be black or grey.Naturally, this specification also features many decorative high-polish blackdecor elements and chrome components. The V6 4x4 version holds a unique position among our models. In terms of driving attributes it adds amore enjoyable and sporty angle to the already luxurious driving experience of the Superb. When drivingthe four-wheel-drive Superb, you will feel even more secure on slippery or loose surface roads becausethe rear axle is governed by a Haldex clutch control unit that immediately reacts to changing conditions,directing drive to those wheels with the most grip to compensate for those wheels which are slipping.The engine offered for this four-wheel drive version is our 3.6 FSI V6/191kW 6-cylinder petrol engine,which is exclusively delivered with the 6-speed DSG transmission.Themisto 7.5J x 18" polished alloywheels for 225/40 R18 tyres.28
